I have an almost complete 3D blu ray collection, it feels like I'm the only person who really likes 3D at times! It just makes movies more immersive when done properly. So many incredible 3D movies like Fury Road, Life of Pi, Kubo, Gravity etc. Love it.
Hey Huber me and you are the same age (31) my mom took me to see Jurassic park in the theater. I got scared half way through and cried like a baby. We ended up just watching what ever animated movie that was playing. Lol.
I'm like Don regarding 3D. My "old" Panasonic plasma TV has a 3D option, and watching movies like Mad Max Fury Road on it with 3D glasses absolutely blows me away.
I wish 3D displays were still a thing. I love the technology and it never got mainstream enough that 3D TVs were affordable. I thankfully was able to see my Age of Ultron Bluray in 3D at my uncle's house.
The problem with 3D in some theaters is that some theaters don't turn the up brightness of their projectors so as to save on bulb replacements and electricity. 3D requires more brightness from the projectors than 2D.
I think 3D is ok, but I've never been blown away by 3D outside of theme park rides (but dear Lord, that Avatar Disney ride!), but movie tickets are already too expensive, I just don't see the point in spending another $10+ to see it in 3D or IMAX.
I love IMAX too Huber, but the only IMAX is Real 70mm 15 perf IMAX. Anything other than properly formatted IMAX films, shot in IMAX on Film is the only way to go. The image is so much sharper and so much brighter and completely fills your field of vision. Nothing compares to real IMAX. Converted or movies not formatted to the IMAX standard can be fun, the image is still bigger and the sound is still louder, but the price is outrageous. If your not getting the real thing, it's just not worth it. I adore IMAX, anytime a film is released in real IMAX (pretty much only when Christopher Nolan releases a new movie) I'm there, multiple times. I must have spent 100 dollars seeing Dunkirk many times. Proper IMAX stands alone in it's quality and experience. I'm just always disappointed when I watch something not made for IMAX in IMAX. This has gone on longer than I thought it would, but it's something I'm super passionate about.
why do the allies not pay for air conditioning? With over 50k a month and the constant referencing of how hot and humid it is in there... wouldn't it make sense to invest in aircon?
