When I lived in Ohio I pulled my little Runaway camper all over the state. It was my goal to visit every State Park. My OCD had me create a detailed map with distance from our Huber Heights home. My husband wouldn't camp so I camped alone, it was my favorite times. My map had the State Parks distance color coded. So glad I took thousands of photos. Two of my favorite places I stayed was Hocking Hills and Paint Creek. If you make it to Paint Creek site 112 was the site I stayed in. It has a deck overlooking the water. It didn't disappoint. I went in Fall and the leaves were gorgeous. I am back in Mississippi now and really enjoy your adventures that give me flashbacks of amazing memories. Thanks for sharing! Happy Camping!!!
It sounds like you made some amazing memories here in Oh! And with all the pictures you have you will be able to remember them for years to come. Paint Creek is a nice campground and is on our list, we will be sure to stay at site 112. I’m glad you are enjoying our videos and that they remind you of your travels😊 Thanks for watching!
Had the week schedule for hueston woods. Be our first. But. Have Covid. , so. Changed out and doing Mohican next Sunday as long as its(Covid) gone. We camp by ourselves. With 2 dogs and 2 cats. Retired. Enjoy your channel bunches. … OH
I met the love of my life 22 years ago at the Houston woods marina she worked there and spent many days to finally ask her out! So many memories flashed by the marina building looks exactly as it did back then thank you for sharing this with us! Cheers from Salt Lake City!
Hello from southwest Ohio! So awesome you met the love of your life at Hueston Woods!! We are so happy to hear that the video from the marina brought back wonderful memories for you. We really appreciate you watching!
@@TravelingBuckeyes yes indeed! So many memories came back 😢 left ohio in 2000 crazy its been over 20 years! I lived in Hamilton Oh are you guys around Oxford Cincinnati area? Would love to see more of your uploadeds!! Thanks again! 😊
It is a very beautiful area, we really enjoyed our visit! You may have to make a trip to Hueston Woods and see it for yourself 😄 Thanks so much for watching!
@@TravelingBuckeyes Just found your channel, awesome content, we have stayed in about 30 of the Ohio parks and have several this year we will hit. Appreciate your videos now that I have found them, very informative.
The nature center looked great. Glad to see the sailboat out there. This park campgroundclooked much larger than the other state parks. Love those burr truss coveted bridges. I wonder if they will start converting the other sections to a more friendly rv campground. Awesome job on the video.
Yes the nature center has so many more critters than most. It is a large campground with a lot of non electric sites that we failed to mention. It would’ve nice if they converted the other half to make it more RV friendly. Thanks so much for watching Scott!
Enjoyed the video. We were there for the first time in April so the Nature Center wasn't opened yet. We'll have to go back to check it out. We were in the B section near the dump station & the highlight of our stay was watching the "newbies" using the dump! We should have videoed it!
Great review, Corey and Christy. Nice dog park. Looks like Zoey would fit through the fence. Haha. Dogs sure liked Corey! Dogs know dog people. Nice Nature Center and lake. Cool they have the lodge and cabins, as well as camping. Too bad the food/service at the lodge wasn't the best. Thanks for the great video.
It is a very pretty area and I’m glad we got one of the better sites. The dogs were very sweet and friendly. The food was ok but the service was really bad, so hard for companies to get good employees. Hope you both are doing well! Thanks again for watching and all of your support!
I went to Houston Woods a couple years ago and stayed in the c loop I think. It's definitely not a place to go camping in a RV but the beach and the nature center is Cool. I probably won't be back though. Thank you again for another great video of the campground. Corry and I are a lot a like. I love my ice cream and a good hamburger and fries. Take care
It’s so odd how that side of the campground is layed out. I’m just glad we had the site we did! Ice cream, burgers and fries what more can you ask for 😂😂! Thanks for watching!
@@TravelingBuckeyes well I like a cold beer with my burger and fries 🍟. Glad you guys had a better campsite than we did. Our campsite was not flat but I used my jack to fix it the best I could. We are going to Tar Hollow campground this Friday after I get off work so it's going to be dark by the time we get there. Looking forward to your next video. I will send you pictures of the campground when we get there. Take care, Jeff
The one thing I remember about camping at Hueston Woods in the 1970's as a kid was all the skunks. Hundreds of them. And they were extremely bold. Like nosing their way into your dining fly and climbing in your lap bold. It seems like that isn't an issue anymore. The nature center doesn't look like it's changed at all. The area used to be a really good spot for fossil hunting. I've found several brachipods and trilobites around Four Mile Creek. Perhaps in the last 40 or so years the park has been picked clean.
Yea I think they have gotten the skunk problem under control. Not sure about fossils. They nature center hasn’t really changed much. Thanks so much for watching.
Mary & I just discovered your videos and are enjoying them a lot. We have family near Findlay and are looking for full hookups for our Rockwood Min-Lite 2516S. Cheers!
We did not care for C either. If we couldn’t get a site in A or B we probably would camp there. But we really enjoyed the park! Thanks so much for watching!
Actually there are two college Corners, Ohio and west college corner indiana, same town but split by the state line. The school there is also split by the state line. When I went there in 1948-50 it was 1st through 12 and no kindegarten. Now is is k through 6 or so but still split by the Ohio/Indiana state line. I had a brother in Jr. High, and two brothers in High School. Still have fond memeories for that school. I live at that time about 3 miles n and 1 mile into Indiana. As an Indiana student we had for pay for text books while Ohio students got them free. It was Called Union School, in 2 states, 3 townships. etc
We were looking for a Labor Day spot and I managed to find an opening here. Your review was great and well-timed for us! You mentioned that you were a bit skeptical of the C-G loops. We are in C. Do you feel like it would be suitable for a pop-up?
Awesome, glad you were able to get in on a holiday. Yes I think you will be ok with your pop up. The pads they do have in that section is for parking your vehicle. So you will probably have to setup your camper in the grass.
