Just a suggestion Parker. If you put the name of the unit in your title you will probably get a lot more views. I've searched these specific units to find reviews and installs on them before. And someone not necessarily aware of your channel may become aware through interest in this specific brand. God Bless
I got a headunit like that from dasaita and it has a built in DSP..and they have options for some vehicles that have the factory trim pieces so when you install it it still looks factory..so now my 2015 corolla S has a 10inch touch screen in the dash and it looks factory still...I really really like it..Its like having a tablet in my car I can download games and Netflix and all the regular apps a tablet can get..its pretty bad ass honestly
@@ParkerTheBasshead you already know man you have actually been a big inspiration on my love for car audio in my life and I’ve been watching since the beginning, Thanks for the great content and keep making videos!
I've run one of these for about a year and honestly I want to go back to a high quality 1 din, I run a Sony DSX-GS80 in my other car and I wish i could find another. If i need screen/nav i can just use my phone.
I'm going to run Kenwood myself. About 379 for the Kenwood or about 500 for a touchscreen I was looking at a lot of units but Kenwood has good pre outs and front rear and sub. I was also looking at a sony unit because Sony has unbelievable sound processing equipment inside of their units for 3d Atmos and just awesome sound so that's why I was looking into Sony I also want to get an old school CD changer hehehe cause I still buy and love CDs but yeah
whats wrong with wire nuts? as long as you get the right size it shouldnt be a problem. only down side i could see is the bulkiness. I would say wire nuts are a better connection than those solder heat shrinks you used. There are videos of them being cut open and you can see the solder doesnt flow through the wire strands like a traditional solder iron would do. I personally solder all my connection with a solder iron but I would still use wire nuts before those hot air solder heat shrink things
I just bought one of those screens for $200 for my Subaru, has a built in DSP which is surprisingly impressive. That actually fit and looks really good in that truck. Thanx for the vid
I got the Dual 10” head unit with CarPlay and android auto, I was deciding between this one and the Dual and chose dual due to looks and the fact that it has an actual volume knob, but also was only $210. So far it’s been good and has 3 or 4 pre amp outputs too
I've had bad experiences with off brand decks, so I tend to stick with brands that I know will put out quality. That being said, this actually doesn't look bad, and it seems to have more than enough features to get the job done. 😎👍
I did a budget setup for my nephew with the ATOTO F7 XE (7" double din) and I think it was great for the price ($140 refurb). It has wireless CarPlay/AudroidAuto, it's hard to beat at that price. Sure, it's no Excelon but it gets the job done and the built in mic is convenient. It's the source for a Jensen XDA92RB and a Kicker CXA800.1, the internal amp's rear channels are hooked to his stock rears for rear fill but everything else is amped.
Always majorly saving my life motivational.... Love replacement for my double din radio for my Cummins dually tow pig I'm building here.... salute, blessings to everyone grind and Motivations
That radio u removed and said is useless I'd love to have that radio I've been a subscriber for a very long time and would keep that head unit forever and put it to good use . My head unit was recently stolen and with supporting taking care of my family I cannot afford a new head unit so I'm driving to work with no music . Thanks parker for the awesome video.
I bought the Alpine iLX w650 when it first came out for $299 plus shipping. Not they are asking crazy prices for them. They are a great head unit at the $300 Mark if you can find one but they are mostly used at the orice now. It is a 7 inch screen but I bought it because of the sound quality and the ability to just use thumb drives for my music. I carry around tons of drives. The 4 volt pre-outs comes in handy for my amps as well.
You should've got the s8 premium. It has separate 16 band eq's for front and rear and crossover for front and rear. It has time alignment. The only thing it doesn't have is db octave adjustment. It has almost everything that Pioneer has for the audio adjustment, and all it needs is an Audiocontrol Matrix.
Following this build for sure with great interest. I definitely want to see how that head unit holds up with bass in the truck. It looks like a good inexpensive option compared to the rest that I could try in my vehicle if it holds.
Head units are a personal preference but I just perfer something more physical like volume knobs and buttons with a simplistic design but I can see why people want more tech and accessories built into the hu.
This actually looks perfect for my usage. I have an 08 Scion XD that i just use a BT to aux adapter for and its frustratingly limited. I think this is probably gonna be the way i end up going if i decide to start upgrading my audio system. Thanks!!! Good content!
I've never used that brand of radio before Don't know how well it is with android auto but this is what I have in my ride and a lot of people tell me I'm crazy for it In Dodge ram 2015 single cab (4) skar TX 6×9 (2) 3.5" TX skar (1) ix 10" sub (1)mico 5ch amp and a Kenwood dnr1007xr head unit
I personally prefer a traditional brand name. Mainly for quality and ease of use. Also I haven't had to but I'm sure the support from a reputable brand should be better but not always the case.
I have this sitting in my garage.. had a internal short, killed my battery. While it worked, it worked well but had to be reset about once a week due to freeze up
I have a double din ATOTO in dash unit, and the thing that might hit you with your unit is that ATOTO does not keep time correctly, and I know I wired it up right. Something to watch out for.
I’m lazy.. I don’t wire head-units anymore. I just buy them from crutchfield and pay the extra $21 for them to wire it up so it’s just plug and play for me lol.. Those connectors are cool though. I’ve always used regular bell connectors which is the standard in all low voltage commercial electrical work..
Is it possible to use a source for music, or whatever, such as USB input or SXM WHILE an app such as weather radar or maps is on the screen from the iPhone.
have a jvc unit no car play no android auto, but has sirius xm looking for this unit as i want to run maps off phone and hook up my backup cam. but want one with dsp and eq so i might get the a6 instead
Parker please check out the Timpano 2500 series subs, they hit tight and hard. Made with the right parts. Need a review on them brudda, let me know what you think!
Hi... I have the exact same unit but wireless Android Auto doesn't work as the unit is refusing to acknowledge the wifi password. So neither wireless CarPlay nor A. Auto is working even after resetting both the unit and my phone. Do you have any idea where I can get firmware updates?
I don't know man...that connection seems like it's going to be a weak point once the flex starts shaking that thing up and down. Just my thoughts on it.
Been subbed for a while now that avatar is sexy but that d4s gift card would really help towards my new build lol good luck everyone and nice work ive been thinking about a touch screen for my truck as well
