FT is at its best when you forget you're filming the episode, Josh. These planes look great and remind me of the Radian as well, surprised you didn't mention the split takedown wings, which are a neat feature in a plane that looks like it's built in one piece.

That was so cool. I love flying at night. I put scale navigation lights on my E-Flite 1.1m T-28's and flew several flights last night. Night flying is so peaceful. Great video guys..

For low cost lighting effects try the control boards from cheap led bike lights. Up to 6 channel and can be switched remotely. I have one driving my garden lights and great for parties and gatherings....

Night flying.my bro and I attached a glow strand to a parachute deploy and started launching am. Rockets at night. So much fun. He actually caught one coming down. Good times😸

We flew V-Tail gliders and Pattern Ships in west Phoenix because the thistles and desert weeds would kill any traditional tail feathers right away, V Tails Rock! We didn't have mixing so we used sliding servo trays; we achieved differential rates in turns by coupling the sliding servo wheel to the elevator servo wheel instead of the tray so turns always had some up. We hand launched and caught big lift, we sky'd them for hours! Night flights were three glow sticks and book tape, just recharged and flew all day and after evening barbecue, all night long. Night flying in the desert is like slope soaring, constant warm breeze and gentle, even lift. You can achieve zero forward motion and constant altitude.

Best Team. I got into this hobby thanks to Josh's motivating personality watching one of his early vids in 2013. I bought my first rc plane I thought I could just fly it simply by reading the manual lol. I put together the plane and when I tried to fly it I managed to crash it twice then I tried to fix it using hot glue. I bought the pusher airplane ready to fly. in 2018, I upped the game. I build fully my own plane using foam and flew it purely my own design I used NACA database of airfoils. figured all the aerodynamic forces built a setup to measure the thrust of motors. Thanks Josh for inspiration. I love airplanes a lot. I don't understand why you never thought about building real flying planes?

Rather than paint those 3d printed fake engine parts, do a filament change for the last few layers using a different color to get a two-toned part. Start with black or very dark gray and finish with silver, even "silk" silver to highlight the pushrod tubes, the rocker cover, the ring around the base of the cylinders, etc. It's hard to tell if your existing part will work as is or if it needs a redesign to make sure the silver colored parts are the last to print (highest on the build plate) but if not a quick re-design will fix that. You can watch carefully and do a manual filament change or you can build it into your g-code. It's easy.

How had the wind been out that way for you guys? I live in MA and the wind never friggen stops. Have had like 4 or 5 calm days so far this year and that's it. Makes it difficult to fly light planes.

I don't know how many 3D printed planes I have but what drive me nuts is that I try to print, as per settings and instructions, nothing seems to work. Going thru the same thing for this glider. The amount of hours and failed prints, wasted filament and cost of electricity, I think it is worth the cost go back to balsa or foam kits.

In 19 71 I was stationed at Memphis Naval air station, which is no longer there. I worked at the station hobby shop and we had a model airplane flying club and we used to fly our models just outside the hobby shop. We flew control line airplanes on sixty foot steel cables. We would fly conbat, two or three in the circle with cray paper streamers. Sometim around 1973 or 4 someone gave me a painting of us flying our planes. I have had it all these years and I would like to sell it, perhaps half to me and halft to flight test, so that someone who loves model airplane flying can enjoy it like I have. I can send a picture.
