Thank you for noticing. We have been going through a difficult time for years, and we are finally settling down and adjusting to this new retired life. We are both doing so much better every day. It’s true what they say- stress is a killer but we won this battle this time!!! 🌻🌻🌻🌻
My condolences to the Azure Standard for the unfortunate fire that destroyed the building, bless the fact no one was hurt or injured, may you all Stay in the Light
I love this! You are definitely my people. I’m all for organic but realistically I have a big family and I have to be dynamic about what I buy. You can make any whole food nutritious. It’s still real food prepared well. Can’t beat that!!! Balance, That is what we need more of. I love your page and your message here. Thanks!
Add fresh baked pumpkin, fresh cinnamon, orange zest, orange juice, agave syrup, eggs, ginger, orange marmalade, all spice, and love. You can add raisins it's the best. Makes great cookies too.
If people are going to be critical of what you purchase for your family they can buy it for you. Everything looks great, I have been wanting to order from Azure but haven't. But I will after seeing your haul.
I hope you do! It’s a wonderful business to support. They do their best to deliver quality at a fair price. I’ve been so happy with all my products so far.
Check them out!! The link is in my description. There have been many food processing facilities burning down, and there is a predicted food shortage coming. Get some rice and beans for “just in case” and be prepared.
Good job choosing your battles with your kiddos and eating! It's better to have something that she will eat, and not waste. And it's better for your relationship- way to go Mom!
I LOVE THIS VIDEO! 🎉 So wonderful to see real life, SIZES of different products for those of us who have not bought in larger bulk sizes. Also what fits in the buckets, in general.
Thank you. Subscribing because you didn't just go over your haul but gave some great insights on storage. I like a video that does more than one thing. Thank you very much
IF YOU ARE INTERESTED TO KEEP YOUR BREAD FLOUR FRESHER LONGER WHEN YOU OPEN ITTO START USEING IT, START KEEPING IT IN YOUR FREEZER IT WILL LAST PAST MORE THEN A COUPLE YEARS IF YOU DON'T USE IT VERY MUCH BUT STILL USE IT!!! IT TO ME STILL IS VERY FRESH AND BAKES GREAT TOO!!! JUST A THOUGHT FOR YOU!!! GREAT HAUL FROM ASURE!!! GOOD VIDEO THANKS FOR SHARING!!!
Wonderful haul! I’m here in Oregon as well, and we love Azure Standard. The molasses is wonderful, and the 13 bean mix makes excellent bean soup in the crockpot. Great video! 😀
So many people are missing the benefit of learning to grind your own wheat. With little production from Ukraine, and possible lower yields in the US due to fertilizer shortages, it’s very important IMO to have options available. Wheat berries are so great since they have a great storage life.
You are true inspiration I am addicted to your videos I love everything that you do you are a great mother and great person and a great human being sending you nothing but positive energy and great blessings to you and your family I am a true fan at heart ❤️❤️❤️💓💓💓
@@RowesRising you're very welcome I'm just speaking the truth I fell in love with your content I love how you're raising your children and all the effort that you are putting into raising your beautiful children you are a true inspiration and never forget that I'm here to stay sending you all the blessings and positive energy ever take care sweetheart 🤗🦋❤️🥰
Thank you for showing us how much storage the different amounts of dry goods take up! I've been getting into more bulk foods, and it's really helpful to see how much space they use.
Try their black beluga lentils next month! Azure just started carrying them. They’re a bit more expensive, but VERY high in protein and so pretty and delicious in soup, with a chewy texture like barley 😋
Thank you for sharing the information of how much bulk food fits in this or that size container. I do not think I have seen anyone on yt show the comparisons. Thank you. That helps for storage planning. Blessings to you.
Hi Katherine... Great haul. My next delivery is next week. I always look forward to it. As far as the coffee... I buy it in bulk myself and only me here. I store in quart mason jars. You can either add an oxygen absorber to each jar or vacuum seal the jars. In order to prevent grounds from sucking up through hose I take a double cupcake liner and face it downward into the jar so that the edging of the liner runs along inside of jar and covers coffee. Push liner to be snug. Learned this from Heidi and her channel is Rain Country. She uses a few methods in order to vacuum seal powders. But.... oxygen absorbers work great. Whenever I pop the seal to open a new jar....smells like fresh coffee. I also store the jars in basement....cool and dark.
Thank you JA Hart!! I’m patiently awaiting the arrival of a jar vacuum sealer attachment for my food saver. I’m excited to try it out. I don’t mind “aged” coffee so much. I’m sure with your recs it’ll last the -6 months before we use it up :)
@@RowesRising You know what, I never had any success with the jar attachments and vacuum sealers. Total flop for me. I even ended up getting a brake bleeder thing for a car to use with it. Abysmal :( I just put the lid on with oxygen absorbers and forget about it now.
#suggestion stamp 13:56 on your coffee storage may want to look into Freezing them in non-permeable bags. They will last long time. Note: don't place next to left over foods.
While I do not buy into the hype of "all out" food shortages, there are so many reasons to stock up. There are isolated shortages, from time to time, like during the truckers strike. We only saw a few brands missing, not the whole food group... or price increases making some items unaffordable. After Hurricane Katrina, and while I was working in remote areas in an earthquake prone state, I realized years ago it was time to prepare and be self sufficient in case of natural disasters. It can take days for rescues. Weather changes are now producing devastating storms everywhere throughout the year, so we can be without food, power, clean water, transportation, etc. There's also job loss and health issues that prevent income... I've experienced both. Power grid failures and solar flares can cause issues, though the odds are less likely. It just makes sense to have extra food, water, and emergency supplies like an alternative source of heat or cooking, first aid, pet food, and any specialty items our families need. In the fall before the pandemic, my intuition kicked in and I kept feeling like I needed to restock my emergency storage. I had previously moved 2K miles and got rid of all the food I had stocked up to avoid paying moving costs. Months after I started adding food and supplies, the pandemic set in. I was prepared, thankfully. The point is, we don't know what is down the road, and it just makes sense to prepare. Even if we cannot afford big hauls, we can add 1 or 2 things each time we shop, and it adds up over time. I grow organic food in my garden, so I can certain items I don't need to buy. I am not an organic purist, so if I am starving, and I have been there twice in my adult life without money for food, and too often as a kid, I will eat whatever is available. Being able to buy and stock organic or non GMO food in advance, especially in bulk, is a God-send... I just wish I knew years ago what I have come to understand and appreciate late in life. It's never too late to get started!
thankyou so much for sharing your Azure shopping . Also the volume to weight conversion visualization. I've been using markings on the side of glass containers to give some guidance with this but doing one with weight too I'm going to try now.
Someone may have already suggested this, but if a person doesn't have the space to freeze the grains, oxygen absorption packages do the. Trick. They do come in different sizes, so you do need to know what size or how many oxygen absorption packages you will need for the size container you're putting them in. Shared your haul will my granddaughter, who is expexting, for the extra information you share regarding iron. She does suffer from low iron. Thank you ❤
Thank you for sharing🌻 I do have a whole video on this topic from last year this time I believe. Your daughter might like to check out my pregnancy playlist- lots of good info there. ☺️🌻🌷🌻
Thanks for the info. I’m ready to pack. But I’ve seen soo many videos about storing that I, now, don’t know where to start 🫤. Got buckets, lids, mylar bags -variety of sizes, oxigen absorbers and a food saver machine/bags, plastic containers juice/sodas, But I can’t get my head straight to even start. Your TIP 👆is very helpful.
@@preemiemomtotwins i figure it is still filling and they don't even know. I have only done this with tacos and meatloaf. I don't want to get busted by my kids that don't like beans hehe
I have read that if you keep Your wheat berries in airtight containers, you do not need to freeze them. If they do not get air they can't hatch. I have had a bucket of hard white and another bucket of hard red wheat berries for 11 months and they are just fine. I do have them in buckets with gamma seals.
Felicia over at Grains and Grit has had buckets of whole grains in a shed in Florida for years and she says they are fine too! I put an oxygen absorbers in my gamma sealed 5 gal buckets to remove any oxygen to be sure they don’t hatch- growing up we often had bugs in our food… 😓And we had rats. I was neglected as a child- I try extra hard for my family to never go through what I did.
I grind my own cornmeal in my Nutrimill grain mill but for polenta/grits I use a Cuisinart spice and nut grinder. The Nutrimill gives a finer ground product but with the spice grinder I can control how “gritty” or coarse I make my polenta. I soak my grits overnight for digestibility but for my cornbread I use sprouted popcorn to make my cornmeal so I don’t have to soak it ahead of time. I LOVE Azure! I’ve been a customer for 8 years. Thanks so much for sharing your haul. I love seeing what other folks are buying.
Hi Lynda Lou K!! A spice and nut grinder? That’s a new to me tool I’ll have to look up. Like a coffee grinder? They were sold out of the 10lbs of popcorn I ordered- I wanted to try that for cornbread as I saw it recommended somewhere- now I really want to try it!! Thank you for watching :)
@@RowesRising I would love to see a video made about how to use the whole corn from Azure. I bought a 25 pound bag of the yellow corn and have no idea what to do with it. Lol we eat cornbread once in a while but that’s about it. I was wondering if I could make polenta or cornmeal mush. I thought about throwing some out for the geese but can’t bring myself to throw out organic corn for the birds. Lol also I did buy the organic MASA and the grandkids love the homemade corn tortillas. It did take me a while to figure out how to get them to stay together. At first they looked like lace circles and we just ate them with a fork.
Hi Katie, I know this is an older video, but I had a question I was hoping you could answer. I just heard about Azure's and was looking through videos on RU-vid, your's was so good and informative! Do you know if you are required to order every month from Azure's? It's just me and my husband, although I do have 13 grandchildren that I like to feed when they come over. 😉 I am a baker and enjoy cooking from scratch. I would really like to use more organic and non HMO foods. Any suggestions?
You DO NOT have to order every month!!! I would recommend submitting your order asap so you don’t miss the cut off by accident. But they won’t charge you until your order is loaded on the truck!!
I love Azure Standard! The raspberry blossom honey sounds delicious! Can you describe the taste, please? The snow out your window is beautiful. I live in Florida and we are in the 80s already! ☀️
Thank you for sharing. I love to see what people are getting and what they plan to use it for. I want to give an extra BIG THANK YOU for the end of your video. I wish I had seen this before a few of my orders. Thankfully I hadn't ordered anything over 10 pounds yet but I was baffled when I went to put it in the containers I had at the time. Time to rethink that before my next order. (I did buy a case of Azures 1/2 gal containers thinking everything would fit in those.) It Didn't so several things are in two half gallons or a half gallon and several of my quart jars. (which I need back before canning time)
It’s always Tetris with food storage around here. I spent most of yesterday re organizing to make room for more jars I just purchased. 😅 too me all day to make a space for 3 cases- but that room is now tidy for the next 15 minutes.
Great haul!! Just a quick note: sunflower oil or butter is inflammatory. Especially if not organic. Maybe it’s ok if eaten in small amounts and not too often? Look into it. Like you, I’m always trying to feed my kids the best:)
New sub :-) I LOVED your haul and LOVED how you explain what and why’s for the order. Im adding onto my order now. The grains to make bread I’m hoping you have a video for this! Im ordering a grinder thing for this now as well. Lol very new at this over here . Anyways hi 👋🏻
Loving your balanced and healthy approach to feeding your family. Soon people may not care whether it is organic...just that there is something in these sweet babies bellies...let the trolls troll ..people see it for what it is.
@@RowesRising I hope not to, but even if we only have strong shortages and people are still not hungry, it will be less picky choosey. Mother's naturally do the best they can for their babies and people should build each other up. Also little man was so adorable at the end! Love those sweet babies!
You should be able to find on the website more details about the cheese like if it’s gmo and what they are fed, I’ve seen other cheeses have that information listed
You scored on the mozzarella! They keep selling out before my order ships! Been trying since January! So far thier mild cheddar Azure cheese has been our substitute.
I will give that a try next month. Yes I was so happy to get it. Although they were sold out of organic black beans, cane sugar, and red wheat on my order as well as other non food items.
Hello! Loved that you showed visuals on how the items fit in jars + buckets. I've been trying to figure out the best bucket/storage container system that would optimize rotation and trigger purchasing. Currently when one item runs out in my short term storage (say container of Costco garlic powder) I have two or more in back stock that then triggers me to buy another so I never run out. I'm struggling with how this applies to bulk grains, oats, beans etc.. if you buy in 25# quantities does that mean you would get #50 and then when one runs out you have another to pull from?? Trying to ensure first in first out and imagining dumping out a bucket to get the fresh grain or oats at the bottom and then refilling. Hopefully that makes sense!
I wait until my containers are empty to refill. So I put bulk bags in the freezer a few days them leave them in the bags stacked in one location until I have an empty bucket or container then I put the new bag in. I do the same when I restock my pantry- I’m about to upload a video about it. :)
I cringe when I see other RU-vidrs restock and pour right over the leftover in the container. I just keep a bowl on the counter dump out what’s in the container refill and put the old stuff on top. I’m kind of anal about that. If they keep refilling on top of the old food who knows how old that stuff is when you finally get to it.
Thanks for the reply! That makes sense. So I'm curious then, if you're filling them up when they get empty and have a refill ready either in the freezer or waiting, at what point did you know to reorder? Just when the bucket is getting low? Trying to set up triggers in my inventory system so Im never running out and have a buffer for shortages, but also maintaining FIFO with the big bulk bins. Excited for the next video!
That seems to be the consensus! The coffee elites say to only buy what you can drink in 1-3 months. I have drank coffee from the freezer most of my life- then google made me concerned🤭
You should tune in to Becky on Acre homestead. She just did a blog on cornmeal tortilla. She’s in her apron. She shows you how to store food for long term
You could buy the lids used for fermenting that off gas. For long term storage, I keep jars of instant coffee. I had to break into it during the pandemic, but love that Azure has organic instant coffee, though pricey.
I always tell my kids that the more color on their plate is more vitamins. And then we study what is seasonably available and focus on the colors to study the vitamins we need each season. :-)
I usually get overwhelmed by Azure Haul videos. I have never ordered, but your break down and reasoning for everything makes it less intimidating. We also have 5 kids, and have been trying to stay out of the grocery stores and source our food in other ways.
I’m glad you found this video helpful😊 It’s been a great addition to our family’s food sources. The upfront cost is totally worth it to have quality food security.
HELLO AGAIN ALSO FOR YOUR COFFEE IM THINKING THAT YOU MAY BEABLE NOT SURE BUT COFFEEGROUNDS ARE STORED WELL IN FREEZER ALSOSO I WAS THINKING THAT THE BEANS WILL DO WELL THERE ALSO??? JUST A THOUGHT FOR YOU???
Google is the enemy because I have read so many different coffee storage suggestions and no-no’s that all conflict. I’m sure it will be fine in the freezer :)
Can you vac seal this coffee in canning jars I take my large detergent containers with the push spout and fill it with water leaving it in different areas of the farm to wash my hands. One with soap and one with plain water….works well
The chicken liver is good. I keep ordering regular brown lentils from Azure, but it keeps getting canceled. (Same thing with mixed berry blossom honey)
Yes I do!! Right now it’s members only. That’s where I share my specific recipes. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-d13gX4UeI_A.htmlsi=_ioYJGzbcQQ-U0Ps
I can’t find the 6lb blocks of Mozzarella on Azure. Any suggestions? Also when grinding wheat berries if you grind 1 cup do you get 1 cup flour in return?
The difference in protein between hard white vs hard red wheat is negligible. Get whichever one you can. The white wheat has a less intense wheat-y taste, so it's a good choice for people who aren't used to whole wheat.
Please, let us know how the bean mix is. I have been eyeing it too, but have had lousy luck cooking other brands of bean mixes in the past. Some beans will be mushy while others are still tough.
You know, I wondered the same. I plan to soak them and then slow cook in low- but I bet it’s still the same. I don’t mind as the mushy ones may make the soup creamy or thicker.
Hi just wanted to say I love you're channel just started watching it I was wondering if you had a q&a it would be nice to get too know you? How you met your husband your likes and dislikes etc.....I live in R.O.I x
HI. I just wanted to ask- you mentioned that the grains can last decades? So if I buy like you did & freeze, clean the buckets & lids, and pour directly into the buckets, it will last 30+ years? Thanks for clarifying- I'm new to this!! :)
Yes!! If you read through the comments you will see they found ancient grains in Egyptian tombs that grew grain! So it’s the perfect food since it lasts forever.
Ok, quick question on the banana chips. Are they easy to bite and chew like a regular chip? I have a 2yo that loves anything banana flavor. But the first and last time I bought him dried bananas from Aldi they were sooooo hard to bite. We don’t do dried fruit but I wanted to give the bananas a try. Even as an adult I could barely take a bite. So I’m wondering if these Azure banana chips are chewable?
Some are hard some are softer. I break them up into pieces for my 13 month old and he eats them fine. I try to give him only the banana chips that are less dense and dissolve easier if they makes sense. We love them and all my kids eat them- we have gone through 6lbs the last few months.
Also check out all their other d dried fruits! They have dates, figs, apples, peaches, nectarines, blueberries, cranberries, raisins, pomegranate!!! And so much more I was just looking to see what else I’ll get next.
@@RowesRising thank you!! I’ll go ahead and add them to my cart and give them a try :) I LOVE your azure hauls!! So many great things I need to bring into my home!
I'm very much enjoying learning from you! Have a questions? I bought 25lb oatmeal from Azure. I put oxygen absorbers in the 5gal bucket sealed with gamma. I did not put in freezer! Didn't put that together. So here's some questions: 1) can I put the 5 gal bucket no lid in freezer? If so how long and when I remove it from freezer how long before i replace absorbers and put lid on? 2) How many oxygen things do you put in a 5 gallon bucket? Thank you keep up the great work!
I would keep the lid on so no moisture gets in the oatmeal and stick it in the freezer for 3-5 days. You need at least 2,000cc O2 absorber for a 5 gallon. So if you use an O2 absorber in an airtight container there is no reason to freeze cause bugs can’t live in an O2 free environment :)
I am doing that this time. Previously I have thrown the bags in the freezer for a few days. If you use air tight sealing buckets and oxygen absorbers they can’t survive either.
@@RowesRising Now I’m confused about whether I need to freeze the grains for a few days. I use my or bags and oxygen absorbers but have been also freezing them in 1 gallon Ziploc freezer bags which takes up so much room in my freezer and takes forever to get each bag frozen then I let it dry out on a cookie sheet to prevent moisture, then put in the mylar bags with O2 absorbers, then into buckets. Is this overkill?
( RU-vid mama here) anyways you’ll run into hate for everything you do on RU-vid. I get crap daily for the size of my family ( preg w #12). Crappy thing w blasting out families out there. Anyways there are more good than bad ppl. And ya good ppl are great for helping each other out. :-)
Katy, I have buckets that I bought forty years ago, of hard white wheat. It is packed in Mylar bags inside six gallon buckets. Is this wheat still usable or is it throwaway? I'm pretty sure the powdered dry milk bought at the same time is not usable either. I haven't opened either the milk or wheat ever.
I think if I were hungry and had nothing else I would grind that grain and make bread to eat despite it being in buckets 40 years. I’m impressed you have had both so long. We grew up drinking dehydrated powdered milk. 😅
4000 year old wheat berries were found in Egyptian tombs, they grew when planted. I say if you open the bucket, and they look like they should, they are just as nutritious as they were 40 years ago. Wheat is the perfect food.
That’s an awesome price!! I just choked down some blackstrap. I typically take it in pregnancy but I’ve been dragging a year postpartum and thought it would help.
@@RowesRising we use it to make a " maple" molasses syrup ( basically a simple sugar syrup with 3 TBSP of Molasses, you can add maple or butter or whatever you like too.) It replaces real maple syrup when prices spiked...I want to try it in brown sugar too. The more things I can make with our items ..the less " storage room" we need.
Thank you! This seems to be the general consensus :) it’s what my parents did but google says not to buy more than you can use in 1-3 months max because quality diminishes so fast with coffee.
