You’re gonna have to diy the bars. I’ve never been able to come across anything like them that fit into a 18x18x24. You could use pvc pipe, styrofoam, pool noodles, rope, wood, or even vines. I’ve seen people just take bamboo sticks and fit them in so they wont slip down. I just have a vine across my geckos cage but I’ve been looking into doing more.
I had the same issue with the bamboo bars. You can use a pool noodle or a limb with suction cups hot glued to the ends. I use the exo terra vines because they’re really sturdy and he uses those to walk across more than anything!
i have a bird ladder that i strung across the middle of my baby girl's tank. im pretty sure that i got it at petsmart and its the perfect length for across this specific tank !
U take me back to my childhood it’s awesome to see you bring such a big inspiration that I’m allowing to grow back into my life which are reptiles I love u my friend an I wish u well!
Love your video! I would recommend trying a large piece of driftwood and then putting one side of the bamboo bars on that and using those Fluker vines you got to hold them in place against the wood. You can also get those forest/moss vines ZooMed or LLLReptile have and use those. I have them for mine and she loves them. Hope that helps!
Sorry about the bamboo bars.☹️ I have a crestie also, and one tip for putting the leafy vine is to put it in at the end because you can rap it around all the other things that are in the tank. No hate!! I love your videos, they really helped me when I first got my crested gecko.
Love this vid! I ordered a 12x12x18 tank to get my first crested gecko but am still doing a lot of researching before I get a gecko... At what age are you supposed to switch them to a bigger cage?
I LOVE your brick wall! Girl I was so disappointed the bamboo bars didn’t work. I can’t find any longer ones, do they make them? I was able to fit the small ones in at an angle with the background removed. You could use a real piece of bamboo and attach suction cups to the ends. I have a hanging wire square basket thing hanging from mine and I lay bamboo through it so my crestie can walk across. I know that’s a horrible explanation lol.
Before I knew this channel existed I had the same old tank and upgraded to the same new tank for MY crestie, this is the first video of yours I’ve ever seen. O.O
I got a black pool noodle and cut it to fit tightly across my gecko tank. Also I got some fake little plants from the craft store and stuffed them through the top of the noodle for extra leaf coverage. It looks really good
You can buy insulated foam at Home Depot (looks like a pool noodle) you can cut them and make them fit lots of people do this for their geckos reptilesmiles on RU-vid and Instagram uses this method
Do you ever get hard water spots on the glass? I have a ball python and I’ve had the hardest time finding a cleaner that’s safe for him, but that takes care of the water spots:/
Take some pvc pipe cut it to the length you need and put suction cups on each side. You can then scratch it up with sandpaper apply 100 percent silicone and dry eco-earth to make your own bars
Pipe insulation can be used to go across the center! It's like a pool noodle foam material and if you cut it just slightly bigger than the width it will hold itself up! Just be careful if you feed crickets because they might eat the foam and you don't want him eating the crickets after they've eaten that
Just saying I would use reptibark or forest floor bedding it doesn’t get moldy as easily and I would get cork and also you can fit the bamboo sticks in by sticking them together
You could use pvc pipes and burn some small holes into them to attack the pipes to suction cups that have hooks. If you want the pipes to look more like wood then you can torch them a little bit
take a piece of wood and use gecko safe glue to glue suction cups on the ends so you can customize the placement of the bar or remove it if necessary.. hope this helps !!💛🦎
Hi, the gecko that I picked out is a sub-adult, almost a yearling. I don't want to spend money on the smaller exo terra for juveniles if he is going to grow out of it quickly. I haven't seen him in real life, so I have no idea of his size but I'm afraid of getting the small tall exo terra in case it is too big for him. Any recommendations?
There is a seller on Etsy that makes bamboo rope bridges custom to your size enclosure. I have wanted one for my crestie but I don't have space in his juvenile enclosure
@Serena Paisley I’m not sure because exo-terra goes by measurements and not gallons since they aren’t fish tanks. If you look up the measurements of the enclosure and an equation to figure gallons it should be pretty easy to find out for any enclosure!
What about a wooden round dowel that you can purchase at Home Depot? You might have to saw some off for proper size/fit. Maybe look in the bird section at your local pet store for them too or other ideas that might be useful for a gecko. A birds wooden ladder, rope, etc??? A craft store might have something useful too to purchase for a gecko and his cage, maybe!!
Lmao I literally went all out for my crestie and got a 18x18x36 (45x45x90) I think I got a little carried away. But I will say he loves all the space 😂
Im about to get a crestie in about 3 weeks. I have ordered the EcoEarth, but does anyone know how to clean it? I cant find any tutorials and am a bit worried. When i clean the tank, would i also have to clean the substrate?
Really cool enclosure😍 Just wondering, why put the paper towels before applying the eco earth? What difference does it make compared to just putting down the eco earth?
I have a crested gecko with that same tank but I had it even when my gecko was a baby and she did perfectly fine. She’s still not an adult so I just wanted to know if the tank would be big enough for a fully grown gecko. If you read this plz answer
@@rustynuts3801 no problem :) happy to help btw i have this exo terra and its awesome I love and so does my adult crested gecko you could keep ur adult in that for its life but the bigger the better :)
Can You use a 18 by 18 by 24 tank on a juvenile/baby crestie? and just have it for the rest of they're life like that I mean you could change the tank like re-vamp it and stuff but like Yes or No?
You should have left those straps on the box and carried it upstairs that way. So easy! I have my adult crestie in the same one. Still blows my mind that it’s a SMALL tall!
