mick gordon dropped w fucking nothingburger he owned up to just not finishing the work he was contracted for and didnt and doesnt care hes stirring up drama to deflect from the fact hes been promoting and is tied to atomic heart which its coming out is a cluster fuck and all the media promotion for it is a lie hes trying to use bethesda as a punching bag given people instinctively always side against them to hopefully avoid people noticing hes been pushing a botched game since he got done not finishing doom eternals sound work and probably didnt finish it because he was already working on atomic heart trailer stuff and stuff for the game hes already admitted half the shit hes now claiming the opposite of love micks work but fuck him
The difference is Mick took the abuse on the chin preparing for counterattack, with all the receipts involved. Allan in his own testimony painted himself as vindictive and stubborn man, peppering his own 'truth' statement with a lot of speculation and accusation.
there's also the difference of mick being actually screwed over by bethesda and fighting back to regain respect in his career while Alan himself shutting down SWT is pretty much speculation that dragged his name through the mud, i think alan catering to nintendo is bad but he definitely doesnt want SWT shutdown, that aside he did said he will leave the smash community entirely which might be related to the doxxing and harrasment so folks at the end of the day the big company is always at fault fuck them
Listening to Charlie go in depth about drama in a community I have no investment in feels like listening to a grade school kid tell me about playground gossip, I love it.
the second i heard “31 pages” i immediately got out of my bed and did my whole night routine. I had to be fully ready before i watched the rest bc wtf LMAO
I was honestly hoping it was to do with the chess bit. I wanted to hear that they had found the buttplug and a video of him blowing all over his keyboard while testing it
The way Alans final piece is pretty much "I'm the victim in all this" kind of proves how self important and ego driven he is, which would back up the claims that he acts like he runs the whole scene and thinks he rules over everyone.
He got sucked in and it never ends. He thinks it’s over, but tomorrow will have new drama that he’ll find irresistible to react to. He has tasted the great nectar of drama, and he will forever be unsatisfied
It really sounds like Alan thought of everything as a big competition and concocted this entire conspiracy in his head that everyone wanted to rule the tourney space like he seemingly wanted to.
Thats called projection... In reality he wanted to insert himself into grass-roots community and take it over to eventually have monopoly over it and be the only contact and agent for events and such. Look at FIFA in soccer, he basically wanted to build his own "FIFA for smash"...
i like charlie but thats a bad take imo, narrators usually dont inject their opinions or have personality, but then again i dont usually consume media where the narrator is talking most of the time. lets just appreciate the florida man jesus for who he is lol

Honestly I have always been fascinated with the skill and time it takes for someone to play smash well and it's disappointing that Nintendo and Alan fucked up the event
honestly that makes sense, im not big into the super smash bros torny scenes but I have seen many very talented clips from the tornys before this one,I think it really draws out how critically you have to think in a timed event like that.
as a former competitor, you basically become so good at scenarios after playing them over and over again vs specific characters that may or may not transfer over that your thinking is much less than you'd expect. You become so accustomed to a scenario that you simply do whats best than think about it. But it requires a ton of reviewing, theorizing and learning that can be fun. Also a lot of creativity. In the end you get players doing things like Light, MKLeo and Sparg0 like gods because they believe or know it will work.
Can't believe you all didn't immediately point out how fast Alan expected all the drama to be because of competition between circuits. Really shows where his head is at.
Something about Charlie’s whole demeanor is so relaxing. I’m prone to anxiety attacks often but watching his videos literally help me more than my own medicine. Thanks for that man
I think their pokemon next game is either going to straight up crash the switch or they are going to sue people for complaining about bugs in their games
Charlie's way of explaining things is amazing. He never stutters, and his way of giving similes and kind of metaphors gives me english teacher vibes, and he just makes everything so clear and easy to understand I have a feeling he was good at english class in high school lmao

Ludwig on the Mogul Mail channel also did a fantastic job, just came here from that one to get two opinions on it. Highly recommend, great watch on both videos so far.
It's definitely just his confidence, like he knows what hes saying is true, and he himself believes it as well. Thats why I love him, he understands everything he says to a T and doesn't just say it for the sake of saying it.
Even if Alans claims about Ken were true, with the whole community backing up Ken as being this professionally and generally nice person to be arround, it's looking more like Alan must have tried to pull of some outrageous shit to get that reaction out of Ken.
Idk ken or Alan but from what I've heard through critical I'm willing to bet money on that. Alan seems like such a manipulative piece of shit it would be par for the course if he went out of his way to piss off ken just to fabricate a villain.
It’s wild how this year has had big drama situations back to back to back like this. Also this reply really feels like more of a season finale more than a series finale I’m sure there’ll be like a few more updates in the future but thank you anyway for covering this again.
It’s honestly a shame that any modern Nintendo Company related news nowadays is now pretty much a spit on the face to the fans or the people who consider themselves involved with the company. While the games are mostly good, from what we seen from nintendo just seems pretty unfair to not only the fans not just the people who create these events as well.
Nintendo just doesn't want to make smash e-sport, it's perfectly their right to do so, people just need to accept it and move on instead of trying to make it happen and victimize themselves for something they knew Nintendo had no intention to do, it was known for the last 15 years that it was never their intention, but yet people keep driving their car into a wall expecting somehow the car not to crash this time.
As frustrating as this drama is, it's infinitely more upsetting to find out people are trying to dox and potentially swat, bomb, or kill and entire family over a fucking videogame tournament that didn't directly affect them in any way, shape, or form.
really doubt any of that actually happened. sure it was mostly people trying to figure out his last name since he made everyone refer to him as "doctor alan."
No. This is an *extremely* common deflection technique that's used to garner sympathy, and in this case is a very transparent attempt at doing exactly that. There's a reason he brings it up as soon as he does and phrases it in the absolute worst way he can. It's all to get the exact reaction you're giving him now. Am I saying he's lying? Maybe not, but there has been confirmed cases of people falsifying stuff like this before. Alan might be telling the truth in this case, but it's not something that should make him a victim of the smash community suddenly. A few individuals does not speak for an entire video game community.
Thank you for bringing all of the evidence and posts together in one format. The thing that I think got a lot of people was how Nintendo and Panda both said, “Well we absolutely did not tell SWT that they needed to cancel their tournament” when it’s SO BLATANTLY OBVIOUS for anybody with the ability to read that they were, in fact, suggesting that they were canceling it. “We’re not granting you a license and you know how we feel about unlicensed commercial events using Nintendo IPs” Like sure, the decision to cancel the tournament was entirely on SWT, but Nintendo was 100% going to slap them with a Big House moment which would be way worse. I think the original statement they provided even said something like that. That they thought about just going ahead with the tournament but that they didn’t want a bunch of people to book flights and hotels and then get the rug pulled under them at the very last minute.
charlie’s titles are genius in terms of marketing, i click the video because i’m curious of what drama it is this time, and end up staying wether its something i care about or not because it’s always entertaining
@@Cubance well, it’s not a misleading title, so i agree it’s kinda a form of clickbait, but not rly malicious or misleading so it’s hard to say it’s rly true clickbait
Had Allan responded as soon as he was called out instead of cowering behind his PR team, he could’ve saved the company (somewhat); he instead chose to take his sweet time making a post that had little to no evidence to prove his innocence.
DOCTOR Alan is a wonderful human being. He goes to soup kitchens, fosters homeless children, volunteers with Habitat for Humanity and he advocates for EVERY Smash Tournament to have equal representation with Nintendo! And the fact that Alan has just named me Executive VP of his new venture Red Panda International and the head of the brand new "Red Panda Mario Party World Tour" has NOTHING to do with it.
So one of three things will happen 1 - Nintendo stands with the community after seeing everyone's passion 2 - Nintendo stays out of the scene and everything stay as it was before this whole drama 3 - Nintendo starts shutting down every unlicensed event and the Apocalipse begins We all know option 1 won't happen, so we gotta pray for option 2
As a fire marshal the “health and safety” issue could be related to their fire inspection. Depending on the occupant load an inspection most likely was done and if they don’t meet fire code standards they won’t be given a fire clearance due to life safety issues.
What I love is that there's a pretty good chance that Alan will see this. Especially a lot of E sports channels refer Charlie as the voice of the people. Speaking to Alan directly. As Charlie voices his arguments is a total flex.
World Cup (Uh, uh), World Cup (Uh, uh), World Cup (Uh, uh), World Cup (Football, uh, uh) World Cup (Uh, uh), World Cup (Uh, uh), World Cup (Uh, uh), World Cup (Sewey, uh, uh) World Cup (Uh, uh, uh), it's time to play football (Uh, uh, uh) World Cup (Uh, uh, uh), it's time to play football (Uh, uh, uh) World Cup (Uh, uh, uh), World Cup (Uh, uh, uh), World Cup (Uh, uh, uh), World Cup (Uh, uh, uh)
This whole thing feels like Allan hates Ken because he couldn’t get under his skin. Ken disagreed with Allan’s vision, (A vision that REALLY feels like something the fire nation would say) and that was the end of it. Ken didn’t budge even with all of Allan’s threats. This guy is a snake through and through, and Ken is St Patrick.
Yknow how much easier it would be if these people who get caught in these allegations, if they just say “yep sorry I screwed up, here’s what I’m doing to fix this for the next time” would be so much better
Ken Hotbid Chen has been a pillar in multiple communities i was lucky to be a small part of. During my sc2 years Ken was an integral part of the community and was the one to introduce me to the smash scene (im sure along with many others) when he posted the Smash Doc on the Team Liquid forums when it dropped all those years ago. I pray im able to be healthy enough again one day to follow the example Ken has set in multiple communities that I care deeply about and be able to contribute and give back to the communities that have given me so much.
Re: the whole "taking notes during a conversation" thing... I mostly agree, but feel this is different. Ken wasn't JUST taking notes, he was doing so by actively communicating with other people via Slack, months before this drama took place. Thi isn't him on Notepad, this is him telling his boss/co-workers "this is what I'm dealing with on this call." Of course it's totally okay, even good, to be skeptical even here. But it's worth keeping in mind.
Marss is the only Panda smasher who’s announced he’s staying with them (for god knows what reason) and he’s the only one who’s lost RU-vid subs. Might wanna reconsider that bud.
Man there are so many things happening constantly, this is crazy! Like one after the other but your content is not wavering in quality. Absolutely brilliant!
i hope Nintendo sees this as a good thing in that it shows them the real community knows how to see bad faith actors, and that they actually care about the scene and the game as opposed to just money like Alan is only clearly interested in.
