The German Army wasn't actually that Mechanized early in the war, a lot of their equipment was still horse-drawn, and most of the infantry travelled on foot.
Dont take it that realistic, you see, that Pz ll and Pz 35 was all it needed to beat the French that days. Thing is in that game, Pz ll , 35, 38t, 35nA isnt capebale of takeing out a B1. In fact, that slow weak-armed snail-tanks get litaraly "raped" by the 2cm and 3,5cm KwK`s on the way faster german tanks
about there not being any hand-held anti tank weaponry: almost every army at the time fielded anti-tank rifles. which were capable at the start of the war, but quickly became outdated and put to anti-material use.
White Christian Male the French only surrendered due to their entire military (pretty much) surrounded because the Germans went through Belgium and surrounded the Maginot line, and the civilian population didn't want to fight a war so there wasn't much support.

You could place that new giant Nazi super fortress you were talking about in a destroyed German city to make it unique from your other superfortress and give it a more (last stand) feel.

Great video. If you wanted Historical accuracy with everything and tactics then the French tanks should be spread out evenly, that's why the Blitzkrieg worked so well. They were able to focus on a French position because they spread their tanks out to far.

2:10 the germans had an anti tank rifle called the panzerbuchse 39, it doens't appear in any games that i'm aware of though. they also used several m24 stick grenade charges attached to a single stick as improvised anti tank grenades.

The problem here is you employed the tactics the French should have used, instead of what they actually did. De Gaulle wanted to have dedicated tank companies. Instead tanks were delegated in small squadrons as an infantry support vehicle, so even though the French had tanks as good as anything the Germans had in 1940 (and the Souma was regarded as better by some commanders) they were squandered by being scattered and thrown piece-meal at the Germans. If they'd used them in concentration like here, they may very well have dulled the Blitzkrieg significantly. For the record, early model Panzer IVs did make it into the French offensive in limited numbers. Several were with Rommels' Ghost Division. While the Germans did not have panzerfaust or panzerschreck at this time, they did have the Panzerbusche, a really crappy anti-tank rifle that was phased out of service early in the Russian campaign (many were redesigned as Grenatebusche, a dedicated rifle-grenade weapon).
Hey Diplex, love your videos, great stuff, and as far as the Pak 36 and Pak38's, I may be wrong but I thing the germans assigned number based on the Caliber of the barrel, IE the Pak 36's barrel was 36 times longer than the shell is down the middle. i may be totally wrong but there are quite a few german guns named for the barrel length, not diameter or year of design.
That was very cool because you always read in the world war two books how the french were easily overwhelmed but here we can see a actual 1940 battle where you can see the germans thinking oh were going to smash right through all that not it the french held up really well especially there light and heavy tanks because france was a powerful country but Britain and America and germany and Russia were all much better better tank designer so its cool seeing the French just destroying everything on the first day
First of all, this looks amazing and the sound of those rifles is incredibly cool. Love your videos and i think i've watched all of them in the last 2 weeks hahahaha. The only thing wrong with this is the amount of French armour and lack of PzIII tanks for the Germans... a better ratio would be 1 French tank per 5 German tanks, even though the French, on paper, had as many tanks as the Germans they tended to spread them out much more.

Just wondering how you make the attacking force keep moving? My editor battles the attackers tend to wonder around in a small area if there is no one shooting at them. For the attackers I just check the no retreat box. Thanks. Also awesome video!
hey diplex you might try create fictional ww2 series using this mod, like create a story one of the company adventuring through eastern front, then they send back to western front to hold allied offensive :D
Was very good however you must take into account that the B1 in real life proved to be to difficult for the standard panzer to deal with and so flak 88s were used occasionally to deal with them. Also the Germans are lacking in heavy artillery and the earlier models of the panzer IV. overall though it is a fantastic battle
nice one, some questions thou, i think you said it was early war, 1940 france/belgium invasion, might be me not spoting them, in the middle of that chaos, but i think i did not see any PZ IV early models, as that was the anti inf tank of the german army in that time ( the ones with the 75mm howitzer gun ), and i though i saw a marder passing by, or was a jagdpanzer I with the 47mm ? anyway noice vid
The Germans DIDN'T attack through the Maginot Line(french/German border), they only attacked through Belgium and Luxembourg even though they had troops in defensive positions along the Maginot the Germans didn't want their army completely destroyed by the Allies.
They actually did, but because the Germans were constantly making holes in the line, units had to fallback furhter and further to avoid getting flanked or surrounded. Also this battle shows what could have been done if the French army had heeded De Gaulle advice of concentrating the tanks in a German fashion, while in reality all those tanks were dispersed along the entirety of the front, making them engage piecemeal against odds that doomedthem from the start.
hey diplex what mod are you using to get the blood and gore effects, I picked up the blood and gore mod off steam and it just doesn't look as good as yours.
