I always think it's funny when RU-vidrs apologize for long videos or say that they're going to try to keep it short, as if that is a positive. I could listen to hours of these videos. 🤣
Year #2 homeschooling and we are the “just the curriculum” people. Most of the time we do school on the bedroom floor lol You’ve been such a driving force in helping me know I can do it! Last year I was scared, but this year I’m just excited 🤩 We did SO good with Kindergarten even with all the chaos of younger siblings lol Thank you so much Dina ❤
I always love your videos. I, too, believe that "all the things" are not needed; we can certainly DIY a lot of it, but I love these videos, as you mentioned, because I get inspiration and ideas. I often run to Dollar Tree and DIY a lot of the activities so for those who want to buy, you can do it in a least expensive way. I fell in love with the sound segmenting trays at Target, but didn't want to spend $30 for it. I ran to Dollar Tree and found some trays with compartments and voila!!! Using the magnetic letters I already had, I have a sound segmenting tray. I want to wish everyone a really great new school year with lots of fun and learning. :)
So many fun things! We have the regular size Yoto players for our girls & I have been surprised by how much use we get out of them! We use them for night lights & when to wake clocks, sound machines, and of course for playing audiobooks & music cards. The surprising best feature to me has been the “Make your own” cards, which I use for the audio files for our curriculum! My kiddos learned all the TGATB letter sounds songs that way! It is also easier for audio textbooks that we all listen to (i.e. history/science). Anyway, I’ve loved our Yotos over the last 2 years, so I hope you enjoy it too!
Wow! Lots of goodies! I’ve wanted a Yoto for our school too. I’d love a set up video if it’s on your list! How you are storing and setting up for the year. :)
The headphones are such a great idea. My kids are all so loud when we are doing school, and it stresses out my oldest. I'm definitely going to try headphones for her!
30:46 That's so funny ! I always tell me little one about my eraser collection that I used to have. I don't know why but I loved collecting them and collecting cool looking pencils. 😆
You're so adorable! Love your sense of humor & the joy of the Lord shining through you! Excited to continue learning from you as my oldest starts kindergarten this fall! 😭💕
@@PursuingPeace Thank you! 💜 We actually have 3 boys 😅🤣 Do you have any advice/videos on how to manage disruptive younger siblings? My youngest (2) is a handful! We don't have any family help (my mom recently passed away 😔💔) and I'm trying to balance homeschool and behaviors and it's rough, haha
We're going into our 4th year homeschooling and our first year getting scholarship funds for my kiddo in Florida! I'm definitely adding some of these to my cart 😍
Hi I’m from Manitoba Canada and just found your channel. My son is 2 years 8 months and I plan to home school next year. Because we don’t have a target here where could we find the options you got there?
I just bought those floating number bubbles from Target to use with my boys. I plan on using them to practice math problems so I bought two packs so we have enough for 2 digit answers.
I had mentioned in one of your videos that I felt like math fact practice was lacking in all the levels and that we were having to supplement. You mentioned drill type work sheets but I'm only finding those for multiplication. Did you find them for addition and subtraction in the earlier levels? I couldn't find them under extras or downloads.
I don't see any for worksheets for addition and subtraction practice, but they do have the Anteater Addition and Snowy Owl Subtraction flashcards which also have instructions for games. I had actually forgotten about those, but now I might incorporate that into our week for extra practice! 😁
Ok Dina!!!!! What’s the scoop with all the craft sticks lol! How do your kiddos use them? I always want to buy them but I wonder what I can do to inspire my kids with them.
LOL!!!! They do all kinds of crazy things with them. I just put them in a spot where they have access to them, and they use them randomly. I just saw some on a balloon to make it a puppet. Lol! Just put paper plates, popsicle sticks, and markers in front of them and they'll take care of the rest. 😉
Oh my gosh, Dina!! I always look forward to your haul videos! And thank youuuuu for sharing details about certain things like the little Michael's clear clasping crayon boxes!!!!! I have been searching high and low for the last what.....5 years?? For one like the ones Walmart used to sell. You're spot on about why we need it to be exactly like the Michael's ones. I cannot wait to go see if my Michael's has those!! Thank you Dina! ❤
As a first time homeschool mom I’m a bit lost lol. My first son is starting preschool. How do I know what to buy to get started. Other than the curriculum. 😅
Well....you don't need anything in this video! Lol!!! Just see what the curriculum calls for and start with that. Do you know what curriculum you're using yet?
@@PursuingPeaceyes I wanted to get the good and the beautiful. I’ve heard good things on that curriculum. My son does have a speech delay so I’m a bit worried. And don’t get alot of support from family..
@@jacquelynalaniz792 I would start with the good and the beautiful and just take your time. It's the easiest one. Also....read books! Lots and lots of books! The library will be your best friend. 😉
@@PursuingPeace if I purchase the good and beautiful for a preschool would I be able to use it the following year for my second child who will be 3? Or I have to order a new one? Sorry for all the questions lol
@PursuingPeace oh okay, thank you very much for your reply. We are in Texas, not sure if that's something they do here. I haven't seen any information on funds here.
@lovingmotherhood5720 they just approved it in Texas as of January 1st this year. Im actively reaearching how to apply, but im just finding info on what it is, not how to get it.
YES! I didn't buy the acrylic storage containers with ESA because I didn't know if I was going to use them for homeschooling. But everything else I bought with ESA. 😁

How did you apply for the ESS funds? Ive been researching all morning and cant figure out how to actually apply. I just found out what it is from this comment so im pretty clueless here 😅
Everyone needs to make their own decision in this very grey area. If you'd like to discuss this personally feel free to DM me. But I would rather keep this comment thread free from division. ❤️
Target has never confessed the Lord their savior and has always been a secular company who pretty much supported everyone in a sense.. so there’s no need to be shocked at their actions or trying to have everyone avoid the stores. If you have convictions, then those are your convictions. God still loves them (not their sins of course) but I mean hey, we all sin and we all fall short. Let’s try to see everyone the way God does and have a love for everyone like God does. (Love the people, not the sins of course) ❤
Great question! Some are able to get funds from their state (like us). But before I lived here, I had a savings account for school. I would set aside money every paycheck because I knew we would need more supplies at the beginning of the year. Also....you don't need all of this. Just buy absolutely what you need. We didn't even have a homeschool room when we first started. Start small. 😁❤️
@@PursuingPeace thank you for your kind reply! Haha I’m glad you didn’t take my comment as rude but you know…that’s a lot of stuff! If you don’t mind me asking…with funding from your state, do you get a certain amount $$ and then use it or do you have to purchase things 1st and then get reimbursed later? Thank you so much! 🫶🏼
