No Japan; No country should be following any UN directives! (or any independent agency) So if an armed threat/violent mob is in front of a vehicle, the car can decide that the threat is more important than your well being. Big Pass for me! We should never concede rights for anything. Appreciate the digging for truth.

As long as the sensor and control device is on a different bus line and not directly tied into the can bus it should be safe. To troubleshoot the system would be very simple. It can have it's own idiot light like the throttle body and srs has

A lot of Jeeps are having communication problems, and it’s not software. It's CANBUS and damaged wiring harnesses. Hopefully this problem remains software only.

@vlsgmc sounds like software only. My jeep and the 23 people I know with jl and jt have exactly zero issues of any kind with thier jeeps.

Under Chevron, Stellantis can force the NHTSA to take them to federal court. Stellantis can argue that loss of motive power is a warranty issue, not safety. In the NHTSA Act of 1964, Congress only gave the NHTSA the authority to regulate safety, no quality.

@steven4315 of all brands today stellantis is one I believe will fix it right and fast for customers. Gm and stelantis. Ford and toyota not so much

@@Jason-Samko My last 10 new cars have been GM (7 Chevies, 3 Olds) and I have been very satisfied by their response to issues. Haven't bought a new Ford since 1991. I'll take your word about Stellantis' response to problem but they have no product that interests me.

@@Jason-Samkojust purchased a 2024 Tacoma 6MT and discovered there’s a TSB for the transmission not shifting into 2,4,6. T-SB-0058-24. You’re absolutely correct with your assessment, since 2020 QC does not exist and neither does consumer protection!

I got rear ended that caused a concussion from somebody a couple years ago. She didn't look at the stoplight to realize traffic in front of her wasn't zooming away when it turned green, she just slammed the gas while looking down at the phone. I wish we didn't have any need for electronic nannies but some people really need the car to restrict them because their brain doesn't.

I think I am going to stick with dirt bikes as there just seems to be too many problems with Jeep. Plus someone said they are shutting down the factory for a month because of poor sales. Then I saw the motor used in these things torn all apart right down to the block and the plastic used all over in addition to all the pulleys and the junky way the motor is built and designed, I am staying away. When talking to some of the more popular people out here about their Jeeps, they go on how good they are but most of them buy a new one every year if that. Thanks for all your help.

@ericjames7680 jeeps are very reliable. And this recall is very easy no parts required to fix. Just a software update. Jeep shut down the same as they do every 4th of July for retooling for the next modle year production. Been that way every year for 40 years.

@MrCamel2humps 2015 jk sahara. It's constantly overheating after I pretty much replaced just about everything to stop the overheating problem, and the problem is still there. And before that, I had front-end problems which that there cost me a fortune too. Hands down the worst vehicle I ever bought.

I have a 2018 JKU . Bought new now with 66,000 miles. It has been 100 percent bullet proof. Zero issues. It is my wife’s daily driver and our weekend adventure vehicle. It is excellent in the snow and will go anywhere. Sorry you had issues; that has not been my experience.
