I can tell a lot of thought went into that whole process from buying the coins, selecting, and preparation for sending to PCGS and the waiting..... then the unopened box from PCGS! It’s like Christmas and they are beautiful, Daniel!! I enjoyed seeing how it all came out, Thanks for sharing, it’s a learning process for me!!...🤗🏆❤️👍❤️
You're exactly right and that's why when everyone comes in the store they always think their coin is nicer even coin dealer sometimes think their coins are nicer LOL
Awesome results! Your enthusiasm is infectious. You have an eye for quality. I’m sure all of those coins will sell quickly. Congratulations on your results and thanks for another entertaining video!
"Sweet" ain't nothing better than shinny Morgan's!! I have about 60 Morgan's 1870s to the 1920's ranging vg to ef and a couple that i know are worthy of sending in for grading. I have a little of everything and been collecting coins for about 8 years now and i really like watching your informative shows. They give me alot more knowledge about coin collecting. Thankyou so much!!
Whenever I send coins in to PCGS, 3 out of 10 usually are "Details", 2 out of 10 are disappointing grades, 3 out of 10 are about what I expected and 2 out of 10 are surprisingly good grades. The good ones have to make up for the cost of the slackers.
I love your videos as they are so informative and educational. I have been a collector for 51 years and love the Morgans the Best as they are absolutely beautiful. Keep up the excellent programs, as we love you!
Another awesome video Daniel! I watch every one you put out. You have taught me a lot over the past 6 months and I look forward to learning more from you. You seem like a very generous and honest guy. I will buy from your site when I’m ready to get a few things. Thanks for great content.
I won a lot of 4 1881-S once off of an auction site that was eBay. Two of them came back MS66. Thank you for another video. I really enjoy PCGS/NGC/ANACS unboxing videos.
@xxGodx I paid around $300 after shipping and a buyers premium. It was about 4 years ago, so I can't remember the exact amount with 100% certainty. But, the two 66s paid for the price of the coins plus the submission. 1881-S 66 was going for around 300+ at that period of time. I sold them both locally for retail.
my great grand-pa an i share the same birth date 100 years apart,, he was born on 9-30-1864 and i was born 100 years later,, so them are my favorite years to collect,, i havent found any 1864 coins yet so i,m still hunting, for both years,, those were cool coins no matter the price and grade, pieces of art them old coins are i tell you,, be strong, be safe, and be blessed
They all look great to me. Man you always get me excited about getting a few coins by watching you enthusiasm. They may have gotten the coins mixed up. 🤷🏽♂️ You got the grades; maybe they all weren’t what you expected but great returns. 💯
Wow. On your first two, the 81-S. It's almost like they switched the labels on accident. The first 81-S looked much better than the second that received the +. You mention scratches on coins that you don't see when you submitted to PCGS. I've noticed this with mine. I've been photographing them before I submit to PCGS and comparing them when I receive them back. Some of them come back with scratches not there before. I'm going to start filming my submissions from start to finish so there isn't any question that coins arrive back in worse condition than are sent out. I think it's to keep populations low.
Photographing the coins prior to submitting them with showing the best close up shots is an excellent idea. If you have any questions about your coins when they’re return you’d have your own chain of custody receipts. If you believe your coin was damaged or a mistake was made you would have evidence of the coin’s condition prior to submitting it. It couldn’t hurt.
Very nice. Very tough to get a 66/67 it seems. I have a good idea what mine would grade now. Different years are known for better strike's/details. That's good business your doing with passing on nice coins, at a decent price.
I bought two PCGS 65's Morgan's a couple months ago on your recommendation that the 65's and above are 'investment' grade..Bought 12 ''junk'' Morgan's be fore the SHTF..Enjoy them and Thanks for the Advice..Stay Safe !!
@xxGodx..I paid just over $100 each for my Morgan's 65's and now there worth over $125..Imagine if I knew what I was doing how much they'd be worrh ??..Keep complaining about my ignorance, it's working GREAT so far..Thanks !!
To me, their grading distinctions make no sense in many cases, and here is just a typical experience. The holder's real value is that presumably another pair of eyes and hands have verified a coin's authenticity and original surfaces. Other than that, you get only an approximate grade, which should not be accepted automatically by any purchaser. There are myriads of examples of ugly 65's and 66's and beautiful 62's and 63's. We used to say that it matters who is doing the submissions to the grading service. Some larger groups have a positive-point impact.
After watching you show many 1881S, and what a demonstration of all coins are not created equal, nor would be a graded coin from many different people. Amazing difference of opinions from different people, same company. Cool video. 👍
Morgans are nice. Go where they're cheapest. Slink across the northern border and visit some flea markets. I've bought plenty of MS Morgans in the past for under $30 Canadian.
You did a great job and cherry-picking and it's much harder than most people think all the haters hate because they can't do that doing an awesome job informing everyone keep up the good work so glad things are going nice and smooth
Hi. I like your commentary. What is your price for 1881 dollar graded 65+ as shown in this video. I have recently started my coin business. And have collected few coins need to be graded. Your advice is appreciated. Thank you Naseer
I think PCGS grades coins by date and mint 81s high grades are common ,the first one you pulled was a 64 then a 64+ . I thought the 64 looked better, that date 66-67 are common other dates it would be rare so they may grade a little by that.At HA I've saw a lot of coins , same grade and you could tell sometimes it would be a big difference in eye appeal... and bids.I always consider a 65 should be clean or maybe a minor flaw. You got a nice batch of coins there.I have a couple tubes of 2006 ASE's I opened just one and they still look brand new , I was suprised , the ones in my alblum are getting toned. Those mint tubes are good holders.
Daniel those are beutiful coins i dont have the grading down at all but im trying to learn i have a 1964 kennedy half dollar that is graded at a pr64 and some of the letters on dollar look like machine doubling on the 2 Lsshould it even get a grade. Thank you and really love those morgans beutiful. Enjoyed it.
I can understand excitement about seeing if the better grades are given out. Itrs playing a game and can bring in profits. Everyone likes that. But I hope viewers continue to understand those assigned grades are not actually anything more than a changeable opinion. Resubmitting (which the companies must love like since they profit from it) could bring about another grade. I really dislike the artificiality of the system and see it basically as shady business. Some people spend thousands of dollars more for a label put with a coin, and yet the coin itself might not be assigned that label again if resubmitted. Of course if I have a rare coin to sell, I would be foolish not to benefit from the game myself...even though I would feel a bit hypocritical to my own thoughts!🙃
It seems like they saw the 1882-S and over graded it somewhat and then pulled back on others because they over shot the mark on 1 coin because like you said and I do agree some of them should have gotten MS66 and more of the 64s should have been 65 IMO. Grading is so subjective and also depends on the experience on staff that can tell what is what and If I say you can grade a coin and verify yourself being genuine then i wouldn't even submit because more and more we are finding there is politics involved in certification companies and they love to control population reports but then again we do need them but more so in High dollar coins .
Hi Daniel, I don't know the volume of unc Morgans you purchase at shows and in your shop. If you are able to wait til you have 100 unc Morgans you can do a bulk submission which will save you a lot of money on fees at PCGS or NGC.
No it's not called "pull away" it is from die deterioration and the striations toned differently or not at all compared to the surrounding area. Just study die deterioration, canvas bags doesn't cause it. Toning but not this die deterioration and stress lines around the devices.
Now wait a minute.... I have definitely saw a difference in the way my coin looked before I sent it for grading than it looked when it returned. There were definitely marks that weren't there beforehand. SMH that's shameful if you can't trust the "PROS" I'll surely protect myself from here on out. Thank you very much for speaking out about this D!!!
Daniel, where do you get the boxes and when should I start investing in them I only have probably four coins right now that I want to keep keep keep no matter what
The haters are still gonna say you should not be making ANY profit on them but I understand business - and I'll leave it there. Thanks for sharing Daniel. WASH YOUR HANDS
Hey, watching on RU-vid in Spokane Washington. I know for a fact 95 percent and more of my pocket change is from the Denver mint. I assume the inverse is true for someone on NYC. How much do you assume the covid has slowed the spread of mintage coins from coast to coast? Do coins even circulate anymore?
