I agree. There are so many amazing ideas that the general public could come up with that would generate WAYYY more excitement. It is mind boggling for sure. If I were an imagineer I would be the person reading the comment sections on videos like these because they have all the answers. Give the people what they want. It’s not that hard. Emperors New Groove, Atlantis, Treasure Planet. So so many things they could work with and they reveal these piddly things.

You have passion and an appreciation of legacy. Disney leadership seem to lack both.

They’re redoing test track and country bears and adding the zootopia show to the tree of life that’s all for sure happening. The Dinoland overhaul is going to happen they’re only saying might im sure cause they haven’t fully decided on the plans but it’s pretty obvious it’s gonna happen

Whilst visitors keep flocking in they won't care and I reckon about 90% of guests at WDW are not enthusiasts and don't keep up to date with new rides and attractions anyway.

EPCOT is also my favorite park - former EPCOT CM - and I couldn’t disagree more. What’s happening now is restoring the spirit of discovery that made the park so unique, but weaving it into the kind of Disney stories that guests crave. If folks are want a science museum or a discovery center, they go to museums and discovery centers. Folks come to a Disney park because it’s a DISNEY park.

I don’t care that intellectual property is being incorporated into the park. I think it makes sense. My comment is specifically about the pre-covid to post-covid Epcot update plans. I really wanted an updated Spaceship Earth. And the tearing down and then half-assed putting back the World Celebrations area (Mouse Gear/fountain/green space) was a fail. The Mary Poppins update to the UK pavilion they canceled. Just so many plans they canceled or half-assed essentially. Instead of going full steam ahead they pulled out and cut the budget. You can to invest to make a profit (imo), especially when Disney’s money maker is the parks. I have no problem with characters and Disney IP being added to Epcot and I actually love that they’re incorporating those into the park. I think it needs it. Just look at the Snow White meet and greet is always full as is Mulan. Added Moana is a nice touch and the Figment meet and greet is a long time coming. All to say, I think you misunderstood my comment or I’m misunderstanding yours. My gripe is with cancelled plans, not added IP.

Yeah. That rooftop green space looked so cool. There’s nothing like it in the parks right now that lets you see the park from up high. 😢

Im visiting Orlando for the First time in 2025 and will do a week of Universal and skip Disney. Theres just nothing intriguing to me currently and id rather support universal for building New State of the Art Parks!

yeah but aside from Wizarding World, the theming and service at Universal is not near the same. We felt Universal was just one step up from a place like King's Island or Cedar Point.

Universal will cannibalize its own parks, not Disney’s.

@@Joshua___ Not sure I’d be able to do a full week at Universal since it’s just two parks, so maybe think about adding in one or two of the Disney parks into your week as well. You will definitely wind up riding the same rides several times over the course of a week and it could start to become old after visiting both of the parks back to back to back to back. So I’d say take a look at WDW for a couple of days too. Unless you have small children or have some deeply rooted nostalgic love for the Disney parks (as I do) there probably isn’t much for you at Magic Kingdom. Other Disney parks may be fun for you, though. Epcot is more of an adult-themed park and always a fun day, especially drinking around the world lol. It’s my favorite park and I think anyone out there who has never had any interest in Disney or Disney parks could go to Epcot and still have a fantastic time eating, drinking, and shopping around the World Showcase there. The Guardians roller coaster there is a ton of fun as well (I don’t personally think it belongs in Epcot, but it is an objectively great and fun roller coaster that most people enjoy, along with being my personal favorite roller coaster at WDW in terms of the ride itself). The Star Wars stuff and Tower of Terror are great at Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom is probably the very best park at WDW in terms of theming and attention to every little detail. If I were you, I’d definitely at least go to Epcot and Animal Kingdom along with the Universal parks. Just my two cents, though lol

It’s like an artist drawing pictures of possible arts, telling and showing their fans then not making/selling said arts. What’s the point is showing us anything if it’s not going to be created? Other theme parks get along with their share holders and don’t hold yearly public show and tells. So it would be much better to actually do them when there’s actually something substantial to show and tell.

This is a solid idea. The one issue I'd see with it is that most of the animal exhibits are on the opposite side of the park. Not much backstage area over there for habitats.

My bet: Indy stumbles on a lost South American valley full of dinosaurs that look suspiciously like the ones from Dinosaur.

How about Reya and the Last Dragon?

They had a choice what to build first, Beastly Kingdom or Dinoland USA they didn’t have enough for both they chose Dinoland first and then Beastly Kingdom was postponed then canceled and replaced by camp Minnie, Mickey. The Imagineers for Beastly Kingdom went over to Universal and did The lost Continent which Harry Potter later put out of its misery.

The thing is about Universal is they put quantity over quality. It feels like they make one good attraction and then they make a shittier one, I’m just afraid for Epic Universe to follow the same fate.

universal definitely giving disney a run for their money. and then their new park, epic universe, is already coming to fruition with HTTYD rides/section, new harry potter section, super nintendo world with the donkey kong coaster, new space theme speedy crazy rollercoaster, classic monsters section, etc. you can tell which company actually cares about their parks and it's obvious it's not disney

Just look at what they did with Hollywood, absolutely transformed a middling park to a growing resort with great rides as well as being a studio tour. D'Amaro tends to be praised by the community, but I suspect he's behind way more of the awful direction of the parks over the last few years than is recognized. Most of Disney's current leadership needs the axe.

Yes. The clever theming of the queue room sets the tone. It's these atmospheric touches that set Disney apart (at least it used to) from other parks. Any park can build a generic coaster or show a film. Disney needs to return to their strength, story telling and creative immersion.@@Texaslawhorn

I agree, but sadly Disney is a business first. They’ve done their market research and know these franchises will raise ticket and hotel room sales, encourage longer stays, and sell merchandise.

I feel like the Encanto, Indiana, Coco area has the potential to fit perfectly with Animal Kingdom and it’s spirit if the root of it is the tropical Americas and that region and it’s wildlife.

I think Encanto’s Antonio and Indiana Jones’ snakes are animal kingdom themed so if they have the big rides the theming should be safe.
