I like your truck. You can do more with that. Great! I like the steel shelters but I’ll throw out a suggestion: In your hot climate they may get very hot inside when in the sun, despite being open in the front. Hang a thermometer in there at goat height on a hot sunny day to check it. Metal heats up.

Just a suggestion for your new farm setup. Do a vision board like a map to follow with the actual size of the land and the size of the two homes, buildings, pens, bird sanctuary, etc. Including where the roads are, power lines, Internet, water lines, pond, orchards, forest, etc. This will give you all a great visual of how everything will come together when finished.

I agree with another viewer. Add lower walls to raise the height, add fence around a lil porch and these can be made permanent eventually. Can't wait to see all the buildings. The old ones are so cute, the new ones will be just as cute. Blessings 🙌 and continued prayers 🙏🏼

Farm owner/homesteader is farm manager and livestock psychologist. Who would have ever thought that investing in a sizeable land project and dealing with God's Creatures Great and Small would require so many hats!!!!!!!!!1🤨🤨🤨 Farmers/homesteaders are some of the smartest people on earth. Speaking from farming family roots from both parents.

Hey yal!!! When you get to the new farm, and settled, consider some genies. Get them as chicks, give them lots of human contact as they grow, so that they know you. As they mature clip wings for first year or so. They can fly for a good ways. They are good for tick and fleas and mites. Feed them in same area and water in several places to mark their space. One rooster to about 6 hens.

I would suggest that you put your Goats and Pigs in a Heavyly wooded, fenced in area, that would give them a lot of shade. If you have to put the metal shelters out in the open sun be sure you face the front opening and back in a North-South direction. cut a hole at TOP back of shelter to get a good circlation of air blowing blowing through shelter. The chicken Coops should diffentatly put in between Trees. Save the open pasture area for Hay Cutting.

Those types of shelters were very popular over here in the UK after WW2, because the metal left over from the war meant they could often be built for free. We still had some in use in our local area right up until the 1990's. Used mostly for sheep, goats, calves and pigs, but occasionally for free ranging chickens or ducks as well. Nigh near indestructible is right.

MOVEABLE HUTS!!! At a later date consider adding 3 feet height to 3 sides of the 4 huts, covering the 3 sides with wire. THEN during the winter months you could add fiberglass or metal panels to the 3 foot section on all 3 sides to keep the winter winds and cold out of the huts. AND in the bottom side rails you can drill holes to slide a temporary axle for 6" to 8" wheels on four corners. Then you can move the huts around the paddock. This will help keep the ground from getting too compacted with a permanent shed staying in one area. The huts are heavier than a "chicken tractor" that some homesteaders make to move their chickens around the field. Since you have the Kubota that can pull the huts to a new spot in the paddocks. You could build Chicken Tractors (build with PVC pipe and wire) you could have several for your chickens that you can move around the farm. You do have the moveable chicken house for your laying hens that you will be working on it in the next few weeks. Tom The Turkey and his 2 hens could be in a chicken tractor, ok so call it a turkey tractor. Then the turkeys and chickens can have access to fresh grass every few weeks.
