The main point of that [open letter] is to establish the existing of their [new runtime policy], even if they don't benefit from it now this new abomination is what they will normalize and it is what will ''ensure'' they reach their goals in the present and the future. So it is not about money, if it was, 2.5% would ensure they extract from developers enough SHARES to make unity ''profitable'' but that's not enough. That's why this policy will plant the seed of [installation fees], so that they gradually will force developers to submit to it and to normalize such fee in the industry. Other companies in the development industry will definitely do the same as unity if unity gets away with this. This is clearly their plan from the beginning and they made this drama to distract everyone away from this abomination.
Didnt they already make the version statement in 2019? Then they removed it just before making the run time fee price announcement. Why should this not repeat in the future
I genuinely don't care. Unity is dead to me. I'm using Godot for the meantime while slowly working on my own engine. This shit is never going to affect me again.

Personal stays completely free till $200,000? That's good. Option to remove the splash screen? That's good. Unity collapsing under pressure of the community? That's good... who needs trust if the community stays in charge 😊🎉
