Huge Waves Hit Dawlish as Trains Run Through Devon

This morning in Dawlish, we had some pretty rough seas. I followed a few trains along the sea wall with the drone and then got my other camera out to capture the force of mother nature. Our new sea wall is doing a great job of sending the waves back out.

I grew up at the beach, feels to me that a nasty winter storm can be very much worse than this, this looks great, will admit to that but this is not a serious test, but I have much enjoyed this series, and really hope it will do the job, even in much more challenging circumstances than this

Great to see the new wall working as designed, the amount overtopping now only dependant on the strength of the onshore wind. Just stay off the lower area unless wanting a free cold shower. One way to save money.

Yes, they spent a lot of money on the defensive wall to protect the railway and as you can see the waves go up in the air to stop any damage, so the train just gets a saltwater 🌊 wash...

I can't say I'm a great fan of 'artificial' soundtracks, but this one works. The inference of menace in the music matched the visual part. Really clever editing, but I would have liked to see what happened in the next 3 - 4 seconds at the end. I feel robbed of something.

Previous video [redacted name] "This is nothing compared to the waves at Whitley Bay" I checked videos and whitley bay is adorable, being over the tops of houses (themselves about 20ft above sea level) these waves should be about 60ft+ in old british freedom units. I look forward to seeing how these walls cope after a few dec-feb storms.
