in 2009 when i moved from my rural town of Enkandla to go and study Medicine in New York, my father bought me the "Live at the Market Theatre CD" nd he made me listen to Thuma mina several times at the end he said the only advice he had for me was to be humbled by the opportunity nd realise that the whole of Africa is sending me to go nd get wisdom to uplift our people. fast foward to 2019 nd im still searching for ways to hear when im being sent nd deliver on time. i work with the U.N all over Africa nd its amazing how i feel at the end of each 36 hour straight shift, moving from village to village delivering free medical services. Im in Zimbabwe now nd will not even be home for christmas but im at peace because i am a child of Africa nd im sent by Africa. i can only push my own kids to not only hear the call but to go with pride nd one love for Africa.......... 2019 November

I from Angola 🇦🇴 and I don’t understand Zulu, I guess, but one thing I can tell you is that this song seems to me a Gospel song or a song inspired in the bible and the Gospel, correct me if I’m wrong please, but it is a joy when I always listen to this song.

BRA HUGH grew up listening to your comforting music and voice, had friends who adores you. Yeoville is where you spend time chilling and being yourself many years ago (90's) when Yeoville was still a place to be. Today, in my fourties my British born and bred teenage daughter adores and loves you so much. An example of how you touched young and old with your words, dance and voice. Lala ngoxolo Bra Hugh indeed the world has lost a Legend Absent from the body, Present with Our Saviour in Heaven💔
One of my favourite Hugh Masekelas songs.RIEP. Indeed God sent you and through your music, poetry and great story telling you made a difference in the lives of many people all over the world.

WHAT A SONG HUGH MASEKELA WE CELEBRATE A LIFE WELL LIVED. GO WELL MAN GO WELL AND I AM SURE YOU GAVE IT ALL AND AND YOU HAVE BEEN PROMOTED TO A HIGHER WORLD AS AN ICON.
Brother Hugh, a reservoir of matchless endowment of talent and a mellifluous voice. Though I'm Kenyan, I love this song ,could listen to it the whole day on end.
An African legend and royalty! I forever remain awe inspired after listening to his songs! His sheer raw undiluted talent is astounding! Rest in Heaven and sing 🎤 with the angels!
