Huldrelokkk CD release concert in Berlin 29.10.11. Kerstin Blodig, Mia Gunberg Ådin and Liv Vester Larsen performing their arrangement of a traditional Danish ballad.
Could I have lyrics please? Since I don't speak Danish, I cannot quite stay caught up with the singing for this song as well as I can with Min Bryllopsfest.
It is about a man who has two daughters. The youngest is very beautiful and the oldest very ugly. The elder pushes her sister off a rock (she dies). Two musicians find her body and return home with it. The eldest sister is condemned and burned at the stake. So now the man has no more daughters. There is an extended version of the song. Here, the older sister is jealous that the youngest sister has a suitor. Therefore she kicks her off a cliff into the sea. Two musicians find her body on the beach. She is dead and her long hair is tangled in bones, forming a harp. They take the harp to town to play it. But when it plays it tells who killed the youngest sister. So that night the eldest lies in the bridal bed with her husband (the younger sister's suitor). But the next day she burns at the stake.
