The truth is that some of Undertaker's fans cannot handle the Fact that Hulk Hogan is greater than Undertaker and has sacrificed more than Undertaker. He lost to Undertaker twice and gave him the belt twice, yet some of Undertaker's fans still complain and cry to this day. When Hulk Hogan chose Names like Andre the Giant. Ric Flair. Steve Austin . Rock. and He did not mention Undertaker he is right because all of these names had a greater role in building wrestling than Undertaker, even John Cena achieved greater profits than Undertaker. Undertaker was never the top guy in any era. He was always among the best, but he was not the best, the first, or the most important reason for bringing in profits and ratings and definitely not the GOAT. Hulk Hogan. Andre the Giant. John Cena. Rock. Steve Austin . They all achieved greater profits and influence than him.
@Aizenborgman

First, Bruce Prichard stated that the original plan was for Undertaker to win, and then Hogan beat Undertaker at the Texas PPV, and then the belt would be pulled from Hulk Hogan and given to the winner of the 92 Royal Rumble. These are not my words, these are Bruce's words. Secondly, Undertaker himself said in an interview that no one explained to him the original plan, so he is only guessing to this day. As long as he did not hear an answer from anyone, why is he talking and crying to this day instead of asking Vince himself??? Thirdly, smart mark, if Hulk Hogan wanted to beat The Undertaker in every match, he would have done so. Are you really convinced that if Hogan wants to get his belt back, he has to fake it? lol. Oh Son, be a little realistic. If Hulk Hogan wanted the belt, he would refuse to lose to Undertaker. It's very simple kid. If Hogan wants to, he can destroy Undertaker, control 90% of the match, and win against him, and even Vince will not be able to do anything. Vince was afraid to force anything on the warrior and the warrior is not as big as Hulk Hogan The most important star. But Hogan didn't and did his job so stop crying about it OK @@Countrybananas

A mount Rushmore in pro wrestling is so tricky, it depends on the criteria you are focusing on. For example, if you talking in terms of in-ring wrestling ability, Bret Hart and Kurt Angle have to be there. In terms of character, Undertaker has to be there. In terms of longevity, Ric Flair and Lou Thesz have to be there. Drawing ability? Hogan, Austin, Bruno, Rock have to be there. Legendary? Andre and Undertaker have to be there. All around performer? Randy Savage, Shawn Michaels, and Kurt Angle have to be there.

Unfortunately the guy who covers more ground than almost anyone in terms of fame, innovation, and influence is far too often ignored. Gorgeous George created the modern heel, was one of the first television stars (not of wrestling, but TV period), and directly influenced pop-culture icons like Muhammad Ali and James Brown. If anyone absolutely has to be on a pro wrestling Mount Rushmore, I think it should be him.

It's not fair, but I get it. I think it's largely because of the dissonance between the image Hogan created and the actual person. Higher heights mean greater falls. It doesn't help that he comes off as a habitual liar. It might not be so bad if it was just the one thing, but then he also does stuff like saying Metallica asked him to join the band but he chose pro wrestling instead. And then everyone who ever hated him secretly (according to him) buried the hatchet and became his friend right before they died.

Hulk Hogan carved the real Mt Rushmore. Neil Armstrong was not the 1st man on the Moon. Hulk Hogan was. Hulk Hogan fought in World War 2 all alone and won. Hulk Hogan is the only man on the planet who can make a year over 400 days. Hulk Hogan never lies.

I go back and forth on my miunt Rushmore. For me, Hogan has to be up there simply because he put wrestling in the main stream media. Undertaker because he was the corner stone of the wwe for nearly 40 years. Stone cold just because of how he was during the attitude era with the most iconic feud of all time with Vince. And Andre the Giant for the spectacle that he was.

I often hear that Hogan made wrestling mainstream, but hiw true is that? The reality is pro wrestling's general popularity ebbs and flows. The first man to truly make pro wrestling mainstream on television did so before Hogan even knew what pro wrestling was. Gorgeous George was such a huge star that he helped show that broadcast television itself was a viable medium. People bought TVs to watch faces try to beat him. I'd say he has a far greater claim to that title than Hogan does. Not to say Hogan wasn't insanely popular and profitable of course; he definitely was. But facts are facts.

@kingetzel2755 10 месяцев назад
@@chadarcher13 I'm not disputing that he wasn't insanely popular, but you still didn't answer my question. Why do you say he revolutionized wrestling? Because in reality literally nothing he did was revolutionary. He was more popular than anyone else at one point, but that's not the same thing. Gorgeous George was literally revolutionary. Karl Gotch was revolutionary. The guy Hogan admittedly based his gimmick on (both times), Superstar Billy Graham, was revolutionary. Hogan himself was famous. He was charismatic. He was popular. He was talented. He wasn't revolutionary.
@chadarcher13
@chadarcher13 10 месяцев назад
@@kingetzel2755 before Hulk, wrestling was done in a way such as to still look as realistic as possible, with Hulk came not only the larger than life personas we see commonplace since then but also the in ring style became much more simplified and grandiose... again, a style thats still prevalent to this day. He also was the first to penetrate the zeitgeist of his time and become a household name to those that didn't even watch wrestling, sure Gorgeous George, Lou The and Bill graham were popular but did they have any crossover appeal like Hulk did the answer is no. Put it this way, wrestling was a much different product before Hulk and he was the reason for that massive change so yeah, he revolutionized a thing or two.
@kingetzel2755
@kingetzel2755 10 месяцев назад
@@chadarcher13 Hogan changing the actual style of pro wrestling is 100% completely false. I legitimately have no idea where you got that idea from. Ric Flair, Hogan, Austin, Undertaker. Guys like Shawn Michaels, The Rock, Bret Hart, Roddy Piper, Andre should feel very hard done by. But it's all subjective. I think Austin has to be on anyones Mount Rushmore but his run at the top was so short and Hogan and Flair's longevity surpasses him in my opinion. Hogan put the WWF on the map and Austin took it to anothr level but like i said, a 5 year or so run. Hogan or Flair number one for me. Bret Hart was my favourite wrestler but again didn't fulfill his potential due to early retirement through injury. The best wrestler for me would be Bret or Shawn. The 80's and 90's were amazing for wrestling. The glory days indeed.

It’s so hard making a MT Rushmore for this subject since it’s such a deep subject… so many great names but since I have a opinion like so many others My top 4 is Undertaker, John Cena, Ric, hulk hogan/Andre Undertake for the character that he took upon himself to master and make everybody for 30 years feel immersed is unreal the streak that I personally wished stayed undefeated but story lines had to be made post taker. He’s just one of a kind and no copy of him will ever be as good as the original John cena…stayed loyal to the company, when the WWE needed a face, when all the other stars retired or left for other opportunities John cena was that constant… he didn’t just make the character we know today he was the character … the raps, the never give up, the fight against the evil he was special for sure Ric WOOOO Flair , what’s ther to say about imo the goat of wrestling, he wasn’t born with super freak genetics like Brock, he wasn’t a giant like the big show, he wasn’t built like John cena, he was mother fucking Ric flair, the dirtiest player in the book… his impact on the fans off wrestling and future wrestlers is unreal and to still preform at his age to still have the following he does it’s truly beautiful HH/Andre… I couldn’t have one without the other, we talk about love for the business we talk about rivalry we talk about story telling, Andre the giant be Hulk Hogan was art … Andre to suppress his pain and put a smile on everybody face was what made him special, a giant yes, but he was a friendly giant who wanted to make people happy, Hulkster is in the same boat can’t have the yin without the yang.. talk about heart and story telling he was able to do but just existing in the center of the ring beautiful Honorable mention Randy ~ truly a great talent who never sold himself to short learned from the best and stayed consistent Hhh- for obvious reason

Terrible list. Cornette was a failure of a booker, great manager. Bischoff and Russo shouldn't be here for obvious reasons and how they tanked their promotions. Vince sure. A legit list not full of carnies and failures (Vince the exception as a carny): Vince McMahon, Toots Mondt, Salvador Lutheroth, Billy Sandow. Toots and Billy were vital for wrestling as a sport, and getting over Londos, Lewis etc as the greatest draws in wrestling history. Salvador for bringing lucha to Mexico and showcasing El Santo, another GOAT draw. Vince for buying everyone out through blackballing PPV providers and giving Austin+Hogan a platform. Rikidozan would be on this list for his contributions but he was too much of a wrestler himself.

The actual Mount Rushmore is Hogan, Stone Cold, The Rock and Cena. This is based on how they were able to draw and sell merch... Their stats in this regard are objective. They had the biggest impact in wrestling and did the most for the business, so any other Rushmore would just be an opinion I would think. My personal favorites however are Lesnar, Stone Cold, The Rock, and Triple H.

My personal Mount Rushmore, Hulk, Hogan, Rowdy Roddy Piper, The Rock, and Chris Jericho. Let’s face it Chris Jericho is still relevant today like he was over 20 years ago. And he’s doing it as a main roster wrestler rather than a veteran that comes back from time to time. Now for the logical Mount Rushmore that a lot of people will have a carbon copy of. Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan, Bruno Sammartino, and “The Rock or Austin take your pick”
