I met Hulk Hogan in 2015. I would say easily a 6”3 guy back then. He has had multiple back knee and hip surgeries due to wrestling injuries. Peak height I would believe was 6”5 or 6”6 which is what he was billed at in the glory days of wrestling.
Over the course of his lifetime, Hulk Hogan has had 10 back surgeries, 4 knee surgeries (2 knee replacements), and 2 hip replacements. From the early 1970s until the early 1990s, Hulk Hogan might have been 6'6" even (peak). He seems to be a solid 4 inches taller than the legit 6'2" Ultimate Warrior in late-1989 and early-1990, when Hogan was 36 and Warrior was 30. The combination of aging and multiple surgeries could have taken a full 3 inches off of Hogan's height. Today, Hogan is probably no taller than 6'3" and no shorter than 6'2."
I think you’re pretty close to spot on. I think Hogan was a strong 6-5.5” in the early 80’s and was maybe just a tad over 6-5” by the time he and 6-2” Warrior began their clash.
Between 1977 and 1985, Hogan was a strong 6'6", meaning he was probably between 6'6 1/8" to 6'6 1/4". When he debuted as The Wrestling Hulk, he was billed at 6'6" 305 to 310 pounds. Looking back at his early career, especially up to about 1985, he clearly looked the 6'6" height. After his The Wrestling Hulk days, he suddenly became 6'7", so I believe he added around 3/4 to his height to list himself at 6'7". I believe very few people would have questioned 6'7" for Hogan, but when the AWA and WWF tried to bill him as tall as 6'9", he just couldn't sell that, nor could he sell being 6'8". There is one video I am going to link, and it is very telling. Big John Studd was billed at 6'10" 364 pounds. In the video I am posting the link to below, look at it from the 1:00 minute to 1:20 areas, Hogan is taller than Studd, even at one point when Hogan was slightly leaning forward he was still slightly taller than Studd. Was Hogan 6'11"??? NO!!! Supposedly Studd's real height was 6'6", and Hogan in this video is taller. Too many people are judging Hogan's height at points in his career where he lost height due to getting older, injuries and countless surgeries. As of now, he is probably a solid 6'3"
I agree. When you look back at Hulks interviews he said he’s had major back injuries and therapy to deal with it. Major spinal compression as result of the wrestling moves and loss of height from surgeries.
Absolutely right, at 18 I was exactly 6' when I was 19 I suffered serious back injuries in a motorcycle accident and when I recovered I was 5'10 and a half , I'm 43 now and due to the aging process I'm barely 5,9

He was definitely 6.6 in his early days, all his surgeries and injuries' he lost 3 inches, recently said after his last surgery that he gained back an inch and a half after that surgery. These photos you cant tell what kind of shoeware people are wearing
Rob. You would agree yes that Terry was a true ft6,6 range man at his tallest yes. I have looked at all of Terry's best photos with guys that stacked up well against his height and to me Terry was definitely a ft6,6 range guy when he was at his tallest. 100%.
Hulk Hogan inn his prime was 6.8 due to his shoes. But due to to many leg drops he had so many hip injuries he shrunk a few inches . But actually he was probably 6.7 or 6.8 .and made the incredible hulk star Lou ferrigno look small like a kid . standing and sitting right beside him. Who was about 6.5 . And over 300 pounds . Both men were at their prime at that times. there's your answer. Hulk Hogan was really that big. The problem with people today. Not born to far ago . is that they over look the injuries. Hulk Hogan has . had that made him lose a couple of inches. Of height .To the point that he's only about 6.2 or 3 .but if you were from the seventies and eighties you would know the difference. More then the new gen would. And understand that when people age or has had injuries to their knees or back or torso . Hips you are going to lose height. Also when having very bad illnesses . Now hulk Hogan doesn't make lou ferrigno look tiny any more like he did way back inn the late seventies. And early eighties they are now close to the same size . But Hogan really started losing height during the 2000s a lot. Quicker. That people today think his past height is a fluke.

In his photos of himself and hillbilly jim in the 1980,s Terry had a good 1 inch on hillbilly jim if you look at them 2 facing 1 another in a photo taken in 1988. Hillbilly jim was listed ft6,5.5.

Rob, Honestly Terry was at his tallest in his early years as a wrestler. I'm not totally sure how much Terry lost in height between 1977_2000. But you could see a sheer difference. I could. Terry was ft6,5 in 1999. So ft6,5 in 1979 is out of the question. Vince McMahon was ft6,2 in 1980 and looking at Vince standing side by side with Terry in 1980 is dwarfing. Vince comes up to Terry's nose half way. I know Terry had the footwear advantage, But advantage of 1/2 inch really. Terry's boots were 11/2 inches thick and that's it. Terry didn't have elevators in his boots either. His boots never looked elevated to me. He always looked flat footed. Terry wore boots about 20 inches high. Looking at the shape of those originals he wore in the ring, you couldn't of placed elevators in his boots in order for he to really step into, Let alone feel comfortable with wearing in matches. Seriously.

I met Hogan in person in 2011. He was in sneakers. He just had hip surgery. I'm 6ft. He was definitely somewhere around 6ft 4 to 6ft 5 at that point. I could see him being 6ft 6 at peak.
My dad was a legit 6.5 in 87.we met hulk at an event and my dad had his illusions shattered when he looked slightly down at hogan..he was still.in the thinking that hulk was 6.8...and he came away from that meeting disenfranchised saying "these wrestlers are all crap!..he's shorter than me!...lol..he said hogan was about 6.4.5...
I still think Terry was ft6,7 like he said. He was measured barefoot in 1980 by his mum and I'm pretty sure Terry's mum would of measured Terry multiple times before and after 1980 also. I don't see why she would want to lie and I see no reason why Terry would want to lie either. Terry has said for many years that he was measured ft6,7 barefoot at his tallest.

Wrestlers back in the day performed 100 times the amount of matches that they do today. Guys like Brock Lesnar probably do 20 to 30 matches a year. Guys like Hogan were traveling by bus and doing 3 to 5 matches a night.

A billed height in the WCW is simply a 2 inch advantage on that person's barefoot height. A person that was billed at ft6,10 or ft6,11 wouldn't be ft6,7 barefoot. A billed height is a 2 inch of the soles of the boots in which guys in the WWF wear. I've looked at enough of his best photos to know he wasn't only ft6,5. He had height on hillbilly jim who was ft6,5.5may ft6,6 and Jake the snake Roberts who was ft6,5.5 also.

Hogan was 6'4. Multiple back surgeries and age so many years of dropping the leg have reduced him to 6'2 1/2 6'3. He is clearly and inch shorter than 6'4 Aikman in that commercial.
But look at WM 1 he towered over 6'3" Muhammed Ali who was the referee in his match. So Ali was only really 6'0" ? I don't think so. Hogan must have been almost 6'7" then.
I think Hogan was 6-5.5” in his prime, Ferrigno was just over 6-4” in his prime & Andre was 6-11 peak (Wilt Chamberlain was a solid 2” taller than Andre in their pics together….). Hogan is ~ 6-3” now.

Rob. In Rocky 3 with Sly Stallone in the ring with Terry coming face to face with each other. You could see in that footage that Stallone come up to Terry's top chin or very bottom lip. Stallone was ft5,10 back then exact being my exact height also. I know guys ft6,5 exact and I come up to their nose. Terry had Stallone coming up to the chin level. Terry was more than ft6,51/2 prime. I still think ft6,7 at his tallest or at least ft6,61/2 totally Rob.

These men were all ft6,51/2to ft6,6 and Terry sure did have height on all 3 of these people. But I was referring to the clip where Terry is walking towards the centre of the ring with Stallone. He wasn't standing on a box walking to the centre of the ring with Stallone and you could clearly see the massive difference there.
