He's right about his guesses. The other thing about photos, is perspective matters a lot. There are photos with my brothers, where me (at 6'3) can look as tall as my 6'0 brother, and shorter than my 6'2 brother. Perspective means a lot.

I have a video producer friend who worked with Arnold in the 90s and she stands a good 6’ 1”. She told me Arnold was shorter than me, at 5’ 11”. I didn’t believe her! But I’m beginning to see how she would be right. He’s beaten himself up through the years and is much older, so he would have lost height. Also he loves to wear Cowboy boots which boost you up probably 2 and a half inches.

Sorry, but Arnold isn’t even 5’11. I had a friend who was Arnold’s assistant when he was governor of California. She worked with him 5 days per week. She was 5’10. Arnold was shorter than her. She said Arnold wore lifts to try to appear taller.
Height is like someone's Visage. They are both accidents of birth dependent on inherited genetics. No one can take credit nor accept blame for how tall or short, ugly or attractive they are. I was at the YMCA in Vancouver around 2005 working out and he came in to workout too as he was doing a film there. He wanted to get past me at one point and said "excuse me" and walked right next to me. I'm 5'5" and was shocked to see that he wasn't much taller than me. 5'7-5'8. Definitely not 5'10. I was so surprised and told everyone that day. Don't believe the pictures and movies.
I have measured myself at 6' 2" which is also the same height my doctors measured me, both barefoot. So I can say that I am legitimately taller than Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Just saw a Johnny Carson interview where Arnold was promoting the terminator and when he shook Ed McMahon’s hand he was only slightly shorter and Ed is 6’4”. Maybe lost some height from disc compression over the years but he was certainly 6’2” ish at some point.

Fact is, hogan was never more than 6'4-6'5 at very most and there's only about a 3-4 inch difference between them which would make andre around 6'8 or 6'9 at best. @@bustercherry8734 You definitely can lose height to back surgeries. Also, look how much taller Andre was compared to Hogan in the late seventies/early eighties. He definitely shrunk. If you want further proof of that, look at Piper and Bret Hart. They were the same height during their Wrestlemania match and years later, Bret Hart had at least 3 inches on him.

Its interesting observing over the years, the varying height differential, between Arnie and Sly. With Slys lifts and Arnie shrinking, its difficult to keep up.
They always wear high heel shoes. But now I see Arnold doesn't wear high heel shoes much. Even when Conor took pic with him he only looked slightly taller and no matter how old or what ever happens I don't think you lose so much height.

friend Rob Paul, I'm a huge fan of Arnold but I also always had doubts about his height, in all the comparisons I made, I always saw him as having 1.86 at most and sometimes 1.83, and you what height and weight he had say in conan the destroyer?
Kenneth Johnson, creator of the Incredible Hulk tv show said Arnold tried out for the part of the Hulk but he was underwhelming at only 5'10" so they went with Ferrigno who was a bit taller
Iff Arnold is 5'10 so lou is no more than 6'0 ft......lou is taller than Arnold but lou never look more than 2,5 inch taller than Arnold ....same thing with dwayne Johnson he was no more than 2 inch max taller than Arnold.
The residual old newspaper/magazine interviews provide the most solid proof for me that Arnie is only 5 ft 10 max. Even Barry Norman, one of the best film critics ever, related how short Arnie looked at Cannes, even though Arnie's shoes were real thick!
Seeing how Arnie had one of the most impressive physiques of all time and a back that was more developed than most athletes, it's highly possible that the amount of muscle he had back then stretched his spine out, so that now when he's older and has lost a bunch of muscle mass, he has lost even more height than most people do when they age.

@@fake-PSL it can help keeping your spine stretched more. It doesn't add actual height, it just improves your posture. When you lie down, gravity makes water flow in between your disc on you spine, so when you wake up in the morning you can be 1 to 2 inches taller than you are 4 hours later. Adding mass to your spine may stretch it out and keep it a bit more stretched, making your evening height a bit taller.

No way Arnie was ever 6ft1! He was a max of 5 ft 11 at his peak. Neilsen looks taller than him plus in other photos the 6ft 1" Holyfield looks like he has 2 or 3 inches on him.
Extreme long term steroid use can make people shorter, it can have a deteriorating affect on the spine with bone loss & osteoporosis. Arnold was probably 6'1" in his prime and is now probably around 5'10" now.
Yeah, i highly doubt andre was even 7'. I know he was around 6'9 when he died. I don't think it's possible that people can lose as much height as they claim. I think it's all just hollywood bullshit.

My mom saw him on muscle beach back in the 70's. Said she saw him with some greasy blond surfer chick. They were all walking around barefoot. My mom was 5'6 at her peak. She swore up and down that Arnold was in the 5'9-5'10 range. Said she was surprised, thought for sure he'd be over 6 foot.

Hey Rob what is the best time to measure my height? I usually measure it 8 hours out of bed and it comes out at 5'8 flat .... sometimes 5'8 1/8 on a good day after 8 hours out of bed depending on how active I am. As for my morning height... I haven't measured it but I'm guessing anywhere from 5'8 1/2 to 5'8 3/4. I usually like to measure my height 8 hours out of bed and it comes out anywhere from 5'8 flat to 5'8 1/8, or sometimes in the middle between 5'8 and 5'8 1/8. Would you consider me a legit 5'8 guy?
Id say midday so about 6-8 hours after waking up is a good claim height. 5’8 is a good claim for u and ur low is probably 5’7 ¾. U probably wake up 5’8 ½.
Arnold was a bodybuilder and they shrink more during the day because of the weight training, probably Arnold was 6’2 in the morning(the height he claimed) and 6- 6’1 at the end of the day Today 6’0 probably in the morning and 5’11 at night

Hi Rob, what are your thoughts on laying down (autopsy) measurements? I'm 187cm flat in the morning and when I do the laying down measurements I seem to get more random results, such as 186.5, 187.5, 185, 184.

Pretty tall mother that’s almost same height as father. So chances are ur gonna tower over both ur parents. Most 14 year olds still grow so 6’1 is definitely possible

Big respect to you if you answer to this question. I'm now couple months over 14 and i'm around 180cm now. My dad is 183cm and mom 168cm. I've had my growth spurt but do you think that i can still reach like 185cm (I'm predicted to be 183cm) and i'm still growing.
My normal evening height is always 174 cm ( my lowest possible after a long day of playing intense sport and being extremely tired is 173,6 cm) my morning height is a solid 175,4 cm and sometimes i touch nearly 176 cm (175,8 cm) just out of bed Shall i say 5'8 or 5'9?
Surely they measured his height for the Olympia and got an official weight? If he was under six feet tall, that would have came out already. So most like 6ft 1.5 in in his prime, 5ft 10.5 now.

Just look at every photo of him next to Reg Park. Park was a legit 6' 1". In practically every photo, Arnold is visibly slightly shorter than Park. In his prime, I'd say he was 6ft 0" max.

@@granttaylor8179 Arnold was never 6'1.75", not even in his boots LOL. You can find plenty of pics of Arnold in his boots being shorter than 6'1 - 6-2 guys in their dress shoes/normal shoes. He was 5'11 barefoot even back then and these days even shorter.

I'm 5'8 but feel I'm shorter than 80% of guys. I live in a rural farming area though and I think people are a bit taller here. when I go to Phoenix i feel taller. I think it because there are more latinos there who tend to be somewhat shorter? 5'8 IS shorter than average though. i guess i'm medium short?..lol
Phoenix has many Latinos so it might seem shorter than average. Latino males are around 5’7-8 average, and American white males are 5’10+ average. 5’8 in general isn’t short for the US, it’s below average tho
Hello rob, I just want to ask hehe, so I'm a model, Every time there is a photo shoot I sometimes measure my height. I sometimes measure my height in the morning and in the daytime I am about 176cm tall and my weight 53kg. I measured my height using a body gauge that is about 150cm long and I used 2. I'm not sure if my gauges did I put them wrong. Does it start from 0Cm or 1cm?

I was 175cm at 22 and became 179cm at 35. So, yes you can. But don't do Powerlifting Squats untill 27, or you will "seal" your spinal height potential. And you should do basic stretching excercises three times a week. No need to do full splits or yoga. Basics worked for me. Regularity is the key. Plus natural protein, fish oil, vitamins, minerals etc. No vegan at least. Vegan diet will weaken your body.
@@bigbeech Did u really grow 4cm over a 13 year period or did u grow after 22 and stop a few years later but at 35 u just remeasured urself? Cuz it’s impossible for people to grow after 30 unless it’s some sort of condition. Even growing after 24 is really rare naturally
Hello Rob Im 15 and im 174 cm im roughly the same height as my dad and my mum is 156 cm but my brother who is 3 years older than me is close to 178 cm could I grow at least to 180 cm? Most people in my dads side are around 178-183 cm
You're probably gonna be taller than your dad since you're only 15 you have 3-4 years of growth depending when you started puberty. I would say that you will be around 5'11 possibly 6 ft if you're lucky.
