Diana recently said this song is her favorite to perform because it suits her natural dramatic contralto so is very comfortable for her to sing. I love her voice whatever key she chooses! A recent video of Diana's, in my sight, is a total masterpiece the like of which I don't remember ever seeing before in my long life. It's a must see for anyone that loves singing with unending emotion. The background of the song is essential to know. The title of the song is "Fastidious (or Finicky) Horses". The song has nothing to do with horses in reality - the horses are being used as a metaphor for life. The author of song is begging the horses to slow down (he is aware he is approaching death), but, at the same time he is whipping them along (his chaotic lifestyle) - he knows that his lifestyle is taking him to an early death, however, he is unable to change it.....the composer of the song, Vladimir Vysotsky, was an alcoholic & drug addict and died in 1980 at the age of 42. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lu8iW9BcWmY.html. Hello from Texas! Diana is so good that I wonder, "How can she improve on that?" And then she does! She does all of her own interpretations and arrangements. She's been getting world-class vocal coaching and she's even stronger and improved now, especially her upper register. The production values of her NTV videos are very professional. Sadly, it's not easy to find recent performances that have similar production values. She's still a college student who doesn't have access to million-dollar production teams. Yet. The Russian radio station AutoRadio did a recent (March 2021) interview/performance segment with her that really showcases how she sounds today, three years after those NTV videos. That AutoRadio segment is about 35 minutes long (she performs 5 or 6 songs I think). I think it's possible to find the individual songs from that interview, maybe. Anyway, my new personal favorite is By Your Voice from that radio segment. I don't think anybody knows Diana's limits (even Diana), but I do know that she's my favorite female vocalist in the world.
