80's music! If you weren't there, sorry. You missed a great time! Current pop music absolutely sucks. But you kids enjoy what you have. Those of us who were around in late 70's into the 80's were lucky. We know it.
Best decade ever. I wish I could wake up tomorrow morning and the date was 1/1/80. No internet, no mobile phones, no toxic social media. Far better times. Oh, and you could go to a gig and actually watch the artist or band without seeing a million zombie phones.
2023 people singing almost half of the song!!! Which music is so powerful that can touch hearts after 40 years??? Music from the 80΄s of course!!!! The peak -the top of the pop music!!!
Christmas number one, 1981 in UK and Ireland. I remember watching it on TOTP as a 12 year old. Little did I realise that I was listening to a synth-pop classic at the start of the greatest decade ever ..... the 80's!
You were working as a waitress in a cocktail bar When I met you I picked you out, I shook you up And turned you around Turned you into someone new Now five years later on you've got the world at your feet Success has been so easy for you But don't forget it's me who put you where you are now And I can put you back down too. Don't. Don't you want me? You know I can't believe it when I hear that you won't see me Don't. Don't you want me? You know I don't believe you when you say that you don't need me It's much too late to find When you think you've changed your mind You'd better change it back or we will both be sorry Don't you want me, baby? Don't you want me? Oh! Don't you want me, baby? Don't you want me? Oh! I was working as a waitress in a cocktail bar That much is true But even then I knew I'd find a much better place Either with or without you The five years we have had have been such good at times I still love you But now I think it's time I lived my life on my own I guess it's just what I must do Don't. Don't you want me? You know I can't believe it when I hear that you won't see me Don't. Don't you want me? You know I don't believe you when you say that you don't need me It's much too late find When you think you've changed your mind You'd better change it back or we will both be sorry Don't you want me, baby? Don't you want me? Oh! Don't you want me, baby? Don't you want me? Oh! Don't you want me, baby? Don't you want me? Oh! Don't you want me, baby? Don't you want me? Oh! Don't you want me, baby? Unfortunately for us early fans, the League have declined into peddlers of ancient hits, mainly this one. Why the heck didn't Phil respond positively to Martyn's offers to collaborate over the last few years?
Phil both sings and looks quite amazing! I do wish they would re-record that backing tape, those synths and the drums sounds to tinny!! As for Joanne? Pathetic....
