Yeah, it's not a "human power" land speed record if you need a 200+ horsepower internal combustion engine positioned in front of you to achieve it. It's just a silly exercise in mental gymnastics at that point.
@@nodical802 99.9% internal combustion power, 0.1% human power. Unless you care to replicate this stunt sans the draft vehicle in front? ;) Your argument is like saying "My 1000cc motorcycle has a kick starter on it, therefore it is being moved by human power."
Wouldnt the front tire wobble her right off the bike if the vehicle wasnt there at that speed? same as nascar at talladega or daytona drafting and being pulled along
she's using the draft from the modified SUV to pull herself along. now call me a buzzkill but this really shouldn't qualify as record unless she was able to ride the bicycle up to 180+ mph using nothing but the muscle in her own legs
For the naysayers, let a hot rod enthusiast make things as clear as azure skies in high summer. These bikes, like some land speed cars, are geared for top speed at the expense of acceleration. Hence the bike’s being towed to a speed where the rider can pedal , but the rider’s drafting behind the car because she’ll be bludgeoned by the hammers of air at those speeds without the car smashing the air in front of her.
It is a big cheat, if a rider set a speed through their own ability that would be a legitimate record, but getting a tow from a motor vehicle is cheating!! No they would not get to that speed on their own but that is only through the tow from the vehicle. All bullshit no acheivemnt at all!!
