Fantástico diseño. Pero alas más rígidas tendrían un mayor sustentación. Usaría bolsas de helio dentro del costillar de las alas para aligerar peso. Y una cabina aerodinámica para el piloto/pedalista ayudaría bastante

Yesterday, i imagined doing this , I was wondering if it could be done since bicycle powered by us can easily reach 30km/hr speed and flapping speed of birds wings is not so high, so thought our muscle power would be enough to flap the wings to create lift and searched for it if it has already been done, and came across this video, impressive!!

@gordon quigg said: -in my humble opinion. If you'd get rid of those two ropes hanging down from the wings, it would give you more speed and flight power. Also, a straighter wing, with about 2 degrees of total dihedral, would give 2 times the lift with 1/2 the effort. That super flex wing is spilling off all of your lift, and leaving you with too much drag. You need to have all of the wing lifting 100%, tip to tip. Put more vertical balsa stringers for light weight strength, throughout the wing, especially in the center area of the wing. Cut 5 to 10% off of the tips of the propeller blades, for more torque and pedaling power. ALSO, from my point of view, i would add a GEAR box for changing the Gear Ratio when you are already at max speed, so you can shift into 2ºnd gear and 3ºrd gear and Get 2-3 times the power with equally lower strenght required, i think you can fly for as long as your legs want to push (with gears just "gently push") the pedals that way.

Good work. In wing if you create with helium gas. And if you use go upward direction more the it glide more distance. Use wind power to propell the wings so leg get some relax and again next push to up more glide. Relax then go up like that more distance u cover
@chrismofer
@chrismofer 3 года назад
a lifting gas might not be a bad idea but generally with airplanes you want the wind from the front so that it requires less effort to maintain lift. "going upward" requires far more energy than flying level, i think going up and then gliding actually is less efficient than just flying straight there.

I agree, it's very obvious how the craft drops when the wing flexes and develops way too much dihedral, some side wires braces would help immensely. It also looks like it's hard to gage how much rudder input to give to steer since the roll in this 2 axis aircraft is controlled by the rudder input and the dihedral in the wings and degree of dihedral angle changes so much throughout the flight.

Nossa !! Que fantástico. Que tal se colocar nas asas pequenos compartimentos selados com gás helium. Ainda verei voando alto e fazendo curvas. Continuem.

Seeem s to me like there was an eddie at the end of that runway. He got caught in the up side of the eddies followed by the down. Check out the wind. It was surprisingly strong for such a light craft. The rotor from the treeline extended back as time passed.

There is a plane called the Storch that can fly @ 20 mph. I would love to see a video of a bicycle overtaking it.

если на бегущего положить кусок пенопласта, массой с мускулолет, не думаю, что сможет быстрее бежать.

45 years ago the Gossamer Albatross flew across the English Channel. This just isn't impressive. The flex of the wing is robbing energy. Start there and then work on propeller design.

That would be a blast. I wonder if they could just chuck a handheld battery drill to it for practice and fine tuning.. or to give the pilot a rest..

i recon propellors are not worked out properly yet .. they should be smaller and faster so the tips reach the sound barrier not trying to make large efficient diametres with too much material but trying to reach the sound barrier by foot the oppersite way to go .. bubbygoddess2021

Ground effect is lift gained by flying no higher than the wing is wide. If it can't fly higher than that, see Spruce Goose.

I am a student of physics this glider is not flying by the padeling in reality the wings giving support because the weight of the person is not enough with paddling.

if there were lines to the outer part of the wing tied to the main body and across. and a riser on top, . it may reduce flex and produce greater lift
