You could glue helmets to the hips of the guys not wearing them. That way it'd look like a concious decision not to wear it rather than a lack of supplies. The Gue'vesa came out great and would love to see an entirely human, T'au Empire Combat Patrol!

When it comes to Gue'vesa, I always think of the _Incredibles_ reference. "Honey? Where's my super suit?" ... "You tell me where my suit is, woman! We are talking about the Greater Good!" "Greater Good? I am your _wife!_ I am the Greatest _Good_ you are _ever_ gonna' get!"

as a Guard player, I cant support the traitors. But as a viewer, I can support this great content!

Bloodbowl kits are really good for making humans that aren't too imperial.

Lovong how well those two kits mesh together, thankfully my willpower is just strong enough now to buy them and have a go myself!, these will paint up great!

These are awesome models. My brother in law is doing “tau-marines” he has a real name for them, but idk what it is, and this reminded me of that.

Another reason people use the old cadians is firewarrior arms fit them perfectly. Literally, it's the same. Same base size too, helmets similar size, and there's a back plate for the backpack.

I've done Orky Tau, my Pathfinders were Grots wearing Crisis Suit shield generators as hats and were armed with pulse carbines.

I did do a couple of squads of Tau/Cadian mix, using the torso of the fire warriors and a helmet for the sergeant, then legs and arms from the Cadians. With sergeant and another equipped with a pulse rifle and the rest human weapons. I did want to kitbash more but just never got around to it

I did a Gue'vesa company a little over a decade ago. Mostly just repainted guards but I customized a few. Always intended to go back and modify and improve them more. You see, I was a Tau player but a buddy of mine John was a massive guardsman player. We often discussed things like the Gue'vesa and other odd stuff in lore. Thing is, we were both Army Officers. After he died in Afghanistan his wife sent me a box. He had filled it with all sorts of odd bits and extra minis he had yet to put into his own formation along with a note that he had always wanted to see a rag tag group of guardsman survivors who had gone over to the greater good and to make it happen. Turned out to be enough for me to make a company with 2 platoons of 5 squads each, a command group and some special weapons squads.

Loving it so far, can't wait to see them painted up. I'm excited to see if you ever add a human version of the Stormsurge.

The T’au: hello meat shields!

I had been modifying Kroot to fit a Escher gang for Necro, but I am far too lazy to actually kit bash, so I instead used Udo's and printed custom models.

Great vid! As a guard player, its always fun coming up with ideas for new units, including Gue'vesa. I'm actually working on a squad of them at the moment, but to a far lesser degree than yours.

They looked pretty cool

Ko'vash Tau'va Gue'vesa'ui. Long ago White Dwarf had an article on this. The suggestion was guard legs on fire warrior bodies.

I did mine with a van saar box. The bodies were the perfect width for holding guns in two hands and I just head canon the 3 fingers as them wearing gloves inspired by their tau benefactors

I’d love to see a Crisis suit with the middle pod shooting rockets and seeing the smoke and the rockets flying everywhere. Or just a guide on how to do something like that so I could do it myself.

Necromunda kits are grear. I kitbashed escher gangers with genestealer cult heads for my warband. I kind of want to make tau genestealers one of these days!

Kitbashing for either unique guardsmen or Tau Aux to me is a good thing

Interesting headcannon here, but the fingers thing could be seen as these humans wear special gloves to reflect their Tau counterparts with the middle and ring finger in a single sleeve.

Loved the lore! When I first saw the palatine guard, I didn’t really like them. Giving it this imaginative spin creates a world of possibilities! Man I need to see models for what they can be instead of just writing them off! Still new to miniature building.

Interesting conversions, only problem could be either the shoulder pads, too big, and the Tau helmets, different in size from human's ones. Naturally there are a lot of aftermarket kits that could fit for the figures.

These are sick, definitely better than Guard based conversions. Good choice!

Every time I hear the Greater Good, I think of Hot Fuzz. Overall, great work and ideas. I suppose you could have left off the extra finger and say they sacrificed a finger as a sign of their loyalty to the Greater Good :)

Not sure if vespids are still a thing but there is a Orlock junkers kit that has some nifty jump packs in them...

i remember the tau giving humans an opportunity to join their cause, because human having bad conditions so that they can have a proper peaceful life i know there betraying their own kind but think about it this is 40k, all humans turns into corpse starch one day

Oh hey, i tried that out too! But im bad at painting and it did NOT go well. Then 10th edition made crisis suit weapons free and since it was my first army and i didnt know about magnets that army now sits on the shelf of shame

Honestly yeah, as an imperial guard player every time I've seen human tau they just looked like traitorous guardsmen that didn't switch sides to chaos rather than actual tau, the enforcer models really worked well at looking like a standard human but not like the classic standard humans we all know and love

I saw someone making alien auxilliaries by taking DnD minis and sticking Tau bits and pulse rifles on them. Do you recommend any other model lines that might make good alien auxilliaries?

Very nice conversions, but I can't but point out that humans in fact have 5 fingers on each hand. And Tau have 4.

You could make some pretty reasonable Crisis Suits out of the Van Saar mech thingies.

I used Imperial Guardsman to make Human Breachers.

You should get a GhostKeel or two. Look up Frame Arms Type 48 Model 2 Kagutsuchi-Otsu mostly the sniper if you want a stormsurge.
