@@thealbinodino637 yes I am but think about it farsight enclave not only have an enemy in every corner but at the same time don't have the infrastructure and unity of the caste system and other alien allies, what makes the Tau so great is the unity, the infrastructure and technology that surpassed the imperium

How does it start to dwindle?

The Tau moved in on the planet in question to clear Dark Eldar raiders. The majority of this planet are only too glad to get rid of the Dark Eldar & unsuprisingly accept the Tau presence. When the ratio of Tau to Humans reaches a point where there are more Tau than Humans (the Tau have all the time they need for this), Human natives will be moved on, for The Greater Good! Shame that lone Genestealer survived that nuclear blast!

How are they like the Dominion? Do they enslave their warriors with chemical dependencies that they alone control? Have they massacred entire planetary populations as reprisals for rebellion? If a foreign power mistakenly colonizes a backwater region of their space, will they eradicate these worlds as a warning? The Tau and the Dominion are not the same, they share a multi-species aspect yes but their modus operandi are drastically different. Honestly, it’s really the Imperium and the Dominion that are similar with the genetic alterations done to both nations primer warriors and the worship each nation has towards their leaders.

It may be wrong, but as far as I remember there was one such example with some lizardmen, which upom discovery they worshipped Emperor with such enthuziasm that guys who discoverd them call it a day and classified them as Abhumans rather than Xenos

@michaelwhite9199 That was never part of the lore, that idea comes from the DoW game, where one of the ending say's that the demographic of the planet changed over time. people mis remembered what was said and claimed it was because Tau killed and sterilized the population. But what was actually said was it was do to immigration from the Tau worlds, and only the ones fighting the Tau where ever put in camps, and they where not sterilized either. The camps where dividend into genders, so male and females had no acces to each other. It's only mentioned that it was "possible" there where global sterilization going on, and we would never know if it was true. Remember this is said from humans point of view too. What, no. Original Lore had the Tau just be the good guys. But people saying they needed to be grimdark themselves made them instead grimderp for a bit. Which was dumb. The grimdarkness of the Tau is despite their tech they are ignorant and don't understand a great deal about the galaxy or what is happening. That their progress across the galaxy is too slow to stop the other races from destroying the galaxy.
