Good lookin on the ac rigging.. that VPD stuff is misleading when humidity keeps it from transporting water that brings in nutrient. Know when that plant needs what’ it’s genetics require. Too much information without wisdom of how to use it and why is out of control. Know your regions and its traits it creates fat leaf vs skinny leaf is a good clue to needs. We detached from these natural processes that we got here with. We can provide an environment that adapts with us. It’s amazing when you see its place in evolution with nature has been connected. It’s allowed us to learn through our senses and keep developing with biological order. Kinda like taking kids from parents to be brainwashed and “educated” Can’t beat the sun and what it do though. All about the root foundation and photosynthesis of the light source for sure 💚! Know your roots and manipulate with respect to the balance necessary then it will handle the rest.

Thanks Hank! You are a true grower! I have fhe ultra sonic humidifier also. I made a stand for it, just some wood and a saw and some nails. Where the humidity comes out sits about 6 inches above the plants and i have the oscillation fan blowing it accross the top. Works great and i have it hooked to a humidistat so im all good. When it quits ill get a hot water one. Keep growing brother. You could also make a "swing seat" for it and hang it lt from the top..

I've been building PC's since I was 13 so I learned a few things about airflow. Oscillating fans are a bad idea, you want the air to flow like a fluid, thats how it naturally behaves. The fans will be fighting against each other, canceling out airflow an static pressure. The best fans are the inline 4 or 6inch duct booster fans. One ziptied to the right side pushing air up. And one on the left side pushing air down. This creates a vortex of sorts that doesnt stress the plants or damage leaves. You can get 4 of these fans for the price of standard grow tent fans and outperforms them to a significant margin.

Great deep dive on one of the fundamental issues of rigging ( indoor growing) humidity- the environment. To be honest I think your viewers would benefit most on the MOST BASIC but hardest to actually learn function of them all . WATERING . how much ( in ratio to grow medium and pot size ) and more importantly WHEN to apply . For myself it was the single hardest thing to learn . Once I got it right ALL MY ISSUES ie " deficiencys " disappeared and I learned the sad reality that I was struggling so hard with feeding when it was overwatering/ underwatering at the core of the issues . Once i picked up the 10% rule ie no more than 10% of media volume per watering i never over watered again and it was a game changer . Just an idea tho,as usual love ya content but would also add when ur shooting plant shots etc with no voice overs play your jams ,your musical flavor ,like that kings kush short vid ,make it funky

I also put my seedlings on a shelf so the young canopy is 4 degrees warmer than on the floor. Then I put the 15 gallon pots down on the floor to help raise the humidity. It works. No electric needed. I still have them on shelf 4 weeks after transplant and they can stay there until I go to the floor of the tent. Solo cup to 3 gallon veg 6 to 8 weeks maybe more then go to floor with 15 gallon pots.

If your growing in a tent you have to keep the room optimal (not the tent ) with an air conditioner / dehumidifier combo with a carbon filter sucking the air out of the tent . This sucks the good room air into the tent and filters the smell , plus there's no rapid changes when opening the tent . Only that god loving face smack of terpenes . And when outdoors are optimal use a window fan and get that fresh air in that room . easy peezy :)

12:30 mount a wall flange to the Output of your AC unit and be sure to seal any leftover open space on the output. You could also use a reducer on an oversized duct flange that fits the AC unit better but that is gonna cost twice as much. As for the AC thermostat sensing when to turn on/off you will need an independent thermostat for inside the tent that will connect or disconnect power to your AC unit based on Tent Temp. Be sure that the Tent Thermostat power switch is capable of handling the current that your AC unit draws. I just bought an old school C.A.P. AIR-2 and this is how I control mine. Thanks for dropping the humidity knowledge on us bro I enjoyed the video, keep em coming. Question... Should i get an Ozone generator or should i get an Ionizer instead for the flower room? I have charcoal canister but I just do not want any trace of my grow Op to linger outside attracting thieves.

I grow in a hot garage in the deep south with a portable ac dierctly plugged into my tent on the dry setting and a good t7 cloudforge humidifier in the tent 4x8x6.5 i have normal RH between 50+ to 70+ (outdoors) i stopped trying to control the humidity as much and started looking into the VPD and it took 4 hours and some fidgeting with the setting but my tent is 82° inside with my exhaust fan on lowest setting and the ac running and it feels like it 65° inside the tent and my humidity reads between 60-84 % with a VPD of .5and all i change it the VPD on the humidifier and it changes everything else i dont watch temps or humidity at all now soooooooo easy once its dialed in

i currently have my intake and exhaust fans on a mechanical timer set to go on 30 minutes and off 30 minutes continuously. This has maintained a higher average humidity during seedling and early veg in my 4 x 6.5 . Also cuts energy use in half. There are advantages to living 350 miles south on the central coast. The temp and humidity is usually around 50 or 60 percent during the day and temps in the 70s. I have a 20 pint dehumidifier and plenty of fans thats it. Lights off at noon back on at 6pm. My day vs night temperature in the tent has less than a 3 degree spread currently in march.

Thanks. Humidity and air flow go together. The stamata can also close because of too much air flow. To avoid loosing to much moisture. Air flow is key in my step up. I try to keep my humidity under 60%. But have a cold basement usually 60*F. I don't grow in basement in summer. Conditions don't allow. So I grow outdoors then. No a.c. or central air, or dehumidifier. My veg area is dialed in. My home made flower tent is getting there. It's 3x4 x2 ply wood walls up against brick wall and over lapped plastic door. Got a box fan leaning against wall running 24/7. Enough for 2 plants. Or a plant and 2 clones. I also flower an auto out in veg. To fill in between harvest.

I always felt 50% humidity was best for indoors. I grew from 1994-2014. I always had the best indoor crops in higher elevation where humidity was less as opposed to growing on the coast in Humboldt. When I got more experience(10 years) was I able to produce AAA ganja on the coast indoors. Always fighting bud rot, powder mildew, etc. The ventilation of an indoor room is the absolute number 1 variable, followed by room temp, followed by genetics, followed by grow watts, followed by flowering time(60-75days indoors. I saw so many premature crops it made your head spin. Obviously if an emergency came up and you had to pull at 49-56 days then so be it, but the longer the crop can go the better. Stretch it out), followed by correct grow medium per strain, followed by ph, followed by nutrients, and live microbes. Obviously this is my go to list and I tweaked it over the years, but all of these factors working in harmony will bless you with the best grow in the world. And yes, each person on the planet has the potential to grow the best ganja on the planet. In 1999 my friend in Manila grew the best Snow Bud in the world, in 2002 I grew the best Master Kush in the world, and the best Bubble-Jack in the world(Sagamartha Bubble berry X Sensi Jack Herer). It was a strain I bred that had about a two year life span until we lost the mother. 8 ounce indoor plants, that had 12 plants per 1000w. Best yielder, and best Smoke combo I ever created. I miss that strain. But anyone can grow the best, aim high, raise the vibe and you can do it. Thanks for the video.

i set my apartment temp to 21c and leave my grow room door slightly open and the temp increases to around 23c when the heat from light and fans is added....like you said if you are battling heat you are working harder not smarter..set your exhaust fan to 23c in the grow room and that takes care of the increase..its worked for me for 30 years..the oscilating fan is a must but still has a watt energy rating...more watts means more heat...once im into flower humidity is usually between 40 and 50...but if outside temps and humidity are outside the norm then a dehumidifier somewhere in the apartment may be neccessary..again set to 21 and 50% humidity....its going to exhaust at 23c in the grow room remember so its going to be a consistent operation which isnt too complicatted..only time i add humidity is if cloning or first 4 weeks of veg..all that works harder are the fans when outside the margins of ideal temps and humidity...i suppose im similar to you hank in the way you do yours..theres is enough co2 in soil to worry about adding more as its only worth it if increasing light and heat..adding co2 is pushing the quality too hard...you were stoned tonight hank what were you smoking?lol

Evaporative dehumidifyer wont raise temp, rather cool the air. You can use a VPD controler even without knowing the LST, you can use it to have a stable VPD if you can't change your humidity, you can change temp to get the right VPD.

Yeah. Temperature - humidity - moisture in the air & holding capacity = VPD. It’s not complicated. Check the vpd charts and tell me what the temps and humidity are in the sweet spot. Since you’ll probably bring this up next… leaf surface temperatures are affected by room environment and radiant heat.

If you look at the VPD charts and compare them with the temps and humidity that everyone talks about being optimal, you’ll find that they are mostly the same.

Hank, always love your videos and i know your sponsored by mars hydro but if you haven't thought about it before, a/c infinity is legit legit! Im not Affiliated with ac infinity what so ever, i wish i was so i didnt have to buy the kit they sell but im glad i did because it makes growing as easy as it can possibly get. Im in Fl. I have their humidifier connected with my lights and exhaust fan and circulation fans to their conroller 69 pro and everything stays exactly where i set it. My tent is 100% automated minus the watering aspect but i do i have a blumat system that i am going to install one of these grows that will automate the watering. Anyway with the ac infinity set up all i do is set my peramiters and then let it do its thing. It always stays within 1-2 degrees for temp and humidity. Its so easy to deal with. I strongly suggest checking it out. Its so much cleaner of a set up and does everything we would want it to do very easily with no stress.

I was the first to be sponsored by AC infinity. I ran their exhaust and controller set up on one of my series a long time ago. I still have and use the original fans. Running strong

Thanks for sharing. I need to know how to control humidity as in Australia it's around 70-80% humidity and it's hot!

I think this is the first setup I've ever seen where the grower brings in air from outside directly into the grow room. I'm really interested to know how you keep that part stealthy b/c you said your neighbors are nosy. Overall I love this setup, you said it's "rigged" but I think it's unique & purpose built. Thanks again for all the great info!

If anyone is using an Ultrasonic Humidifier please make sure you use distilled water (or investigate using RO water) If you use tap water it will turn aqueous minerals and any impurities into an aerosol and spread particulate matter pollution around your home. The possible health consequences are quite extreme (there are white papers on google for you to confirm yourself) so double check if you have any other humidifiers in your home (like kids bedrooms for example) If any homies have white powder on their fans or plant leaves you should pass this info along ✌🏻

A window unit works perfectly set upon outside temp and what time year it is you’ll have to combine inside air w outside air but once I started a ac window unit oh lord, have your ac infinity set watching etc. and at the end bam 60-65 once drying 9-11 days easy peasy stuff. I used to crank it down last week flower to 65 regardless but goodluck out there takes some fiddling but once mastered watch out
