I think that all the time about this show. They really edit the races well. It's a blink and miss it kind of race and they extend the edit to make it more riveting otherwise it would be pretty short. I think alot of people don't appreciate that work.

The Hummer would win, it's designed for trail use. Every feature it has is for offroad capability. 16in of suspension travel vs 13in, extraction mode, crab walk, fully locking front and rear, etc. The only possible way the Raptor would win is if it races it in a way the Hummer's weight is used against it, like a offroad trail that's smooth with a wide sweeping corner

@@saltyfloridaman7163 Its actually kinda junk. Its okay at crawling, considering its weight, but once in anything soft it starts to sink and dig. If you run at its max heigh, it loses travel because of the pressures required vs standard height. The radiator for it is also set relatively low and forward. So given these, it'll more than likely lose at there off road this vs that. Either from not being able to be pushed fast enough, or going fast enough to win, but bottom out and wreck the hummer.

The tires that come with the car are only rated for 106. The tires are all-terrain, massive in size and have to support the truck that weighs 10,00 pounds. It's alot to ask the tires to do more than 106 in addition to that.

@vr6one ??? The predator is a proven motor. Your thinking of the voodoo from the gt350? It had oil issue to the main bearings and oil filter screws backed out cause it shakes so much. I get a new hummer ev recall about 1 a week. It's mentioned every month in emerging issues since released.

@vr6one oh yeah I see that. SSM 51436 front oil crank seal. At least it's a easy fix. Under an hour, literally 1 bolt. Pull the battery from the 12 hummers your dealer has sold this year, twice now. This oil leak isn't Evan a safety recall is just a tsb and only if it starts leaking. These hummer recalls are safety recalls cause they are trying to burn everything down. They advised customers to not park in their garages cause GM doesn't want to buy entire houses. I have a hummer recall oct 19, a stop delivery, battery replacement.... again. May 9th recall changes/updated. S April 18th recall, battery removal to replace insulation, this is the one causing fires. On top of the numerous tsbs for tail gates, water leaks, bad software ect and the hummer has been eating GMs lunch. I'm tired of warranty pay of these piles. Have to set up cones, and rope of my bays, wear these damn gloves that make everything impossible, buy new tools so i dont die. Yeah evs are great. Just wait until you have to buy a new battery at 100k.... your looking at 40k$+

I’m pretty sure the majority of the big manufacturers have all had recalls on various models ICE included concerning fires and advised customers not to park in garages. Shit is not at all uncommon. Chill. It’s a first year vehicle. Everyone knows they have problems. It’s common knowledge you don’t buy the first year of a new model unless you can handle the teething issues.

Just speaking from experience, I pretty much stick to EVs and only bust out my Bronco Raptor for fun stuff. You can usually have way more fun (with no fuel cost or maintenance) without breaking stuff but the Hummer EV has really proven the opposite is still possible.

The mid-engine Eclipse put a bad taste in my mouth. We all tried to warn him, he just ignored everyone due to pure laziness. At least it happened before it was given away, could very well have lead to a lawsuit, disclaimers be damned. That thing was dangerous to drive on public roads.

Running solo (for the most part) on a project like that and the irrationality that comes from setting a unrealistic deadline for a giveaway will do that. I agree, they need better line up’s. The intro and the races are the best part. Everything else is no bueno. They need less of the drivers talking about their rigs and more racing. They should honestly do a rolling race along with a drag race. And then some. Kinda like carwow, but be different. The funny thing is the EV is maxed out, not much you can do at the moment to hotrod them. (Sure there will be something at some later time) What was simple pulley swap would probably give the raptor enough extra part to have won this for $150-200 in parts. Might even be a tuner out there that would do it with no extra parts by just optimizing the shift points and tuning the fuel map.

The Hummer EV is limited to 106mph because it's offroad tires would disintegrate at those speeds. The stock tires on the Raptor are rated 6mph faster than the Hummer's tires

Well, that's a Raptor R, so the limiter likely isn't the same.

wrong... the limiters are there due to tire speed ratings. the 37s on the 6 cyl and R are the same from the factory@@danamullins2723

@@SR-xk3oy Actually they get stuck pretty fast with all of that weight. Also the way the torque is applied is a real issue for them in an off-road situation.

@@SomoneTookMyName I went and watched 10 videos of them mobbing around in snow. The have instant traction control and they can raise to 15.9” of ground clearance.

@@SR-xk3oy Any video that I have seen them driving in snow was a rather shallow coating on top of a hard packed surface. I have yet to see these things go where even a stock toyota or jeep can go. Including snow.
