The reason why the sockets you are using are different sizes than you are used to using is because it's an American made vehicle. They use standard sizes. If you would use 1/2, 9/16 and sizes like that, you would see they fit just a little better. Very informative video! Thank you for the help!!! Love your shop too.
Thanks for the comment! Actually, GM started using the metric system in 1973, and by the 90's pretty much every model going forward used metric fasteners. The reason some of the sizes were weird for me, was that there were a lot of 11mm and 13mm nuts and bolts where on previous vehicles you'd normally find 10mm or 12mm nuts and bolts.
You already asked me the same question 5 months ago 🤔 When I tried to use the locker... it didn't work 😅 Basically one wheel would spin, and the other wouldn't move. So the differential wasn't locking. But I could hear a clicking noise indicating that it was attempting to lock, but just kept slipping. Thanks for the comment!
