Thank you for visiting HK. Fighting! Representing my home language (Cantonese) Sending lots of love and positive vibes from Canada. HK
Welcome to Hong Kong. So impressed to hear you speak fluent Mandarin when I watched your previous TV shows visiting mainland China. In fact, besides your cooking skill, you've the language talent as well. Bravo!
So impressed you know our culture very much Here the Cantonese of the dim sum name from 5:09 5:09 蝦餃 5:10 燒賣 (大部分只有茶樓吃的才有蝦肉、蟹子、冬菇,街頭燒賣是魚肉) 5:11 叉燒 5:13 雞扎 鳳爪排骨飯 5:15 炸雲吞 5:26 金錢肚 5:26馬拉糕 (黃色) 5:27 蘿蔔糕 5:28 牛肉球 (配喼汁) 5:29 應該是齋肉 5:31 潤腸飯
As a Hongkonger, I can’t believe that you guys went there for dim sum, even locals may not go there often😂 but tbh that’s really a nice place, so glad to see you all enjoy the meal❤
Not that many people know about this but there is interesting history between Mr. paik and Hong Kong. Almost 30 years ago, Mr. Paik gained lot of debt from his house interior business due IMF in korea. He went HongKong to end his own life and he decided to have last meal. However, the food he had in Hong Kong openned up new insight and inspired him to start again. At that time, he owned a small restaurant as side business and that is how his first franchise began.
Love the fact that you did not just study the food, you studied the culture behind it as well! Keep up with the top-notch content. Fighting from Singapore!
Made me miss my home town. That was not rice noodle, it’s egg yolks noodles, either chicken egg or some use duck eggs, they also add alkali to make noodles to give the texture , ppl who like to add vinaiger is to balance the taste of alkali if noodles are freshly made . Many store will have to keep those noodles aside for at least a day to let alkali taste evaporate. So happy that 白先生enjoy our local food.💜 Also, thank you so much for loving our World wide handsome Jin! 🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼
a) The bread you mentioned is a steamed sponge cake made of brown sugar. b) Mr. Paik is so clever to choose restaurants with long queues, which represents that the restaurants provide tasty food and attract a lot of customers. c) Noodles sold in carts: They were so popular among students and local residents in the past. They were cheap (because students had limited pocket money) and they had the freedom to choose what they liked. People also loved eating this on the side of the street. Nowadays they move into these small noodle shops, providing the same types of food in great varieties. The foods in this episode are mostly our childhood foods, tasty and full of memories with friends (noodles) and families (dim sum)
I'm so glad you went to my two favorite places, this dim sum restaurant we usually went there around 0630 or 7 am. The water cress you can actually buy it after and you can try collect it in the farm next to the restaurant ❤. The noodles just make you come to get several ingredients every times, it's taste so delicious. Fans from Hong Kong
Welcome to HK😘 Looking forward to watching the coming episodes🤩 Please come to HK next time with 성시경 씨, he must love it 😉😉 I don’t mind to be the tour guide and bring you all to have great food 🥰🥰
I loved how much you enjoyed all the food in HK. I never enjoyed watching other people eating as much as you did 🥰🥰 Big thanks to promote HK food to your country! 🙇♀️🙇♀️
I really like eating dimsum n cart noodles, these are our local food culture 🇭🇰 that cart noodles restaurant has long queue everyday, it worths the wait though, coz ingredients gd n yummy. Thanks 백종원님 for visiting n introducing delicious hk food 😊
I'm so curious where is your next stop for foods in HK 😊when will be the episode 2. I has been visit your three restaurants in Seoul it so delicious
He should try the yuanyang drink in Hong Kong, tea and coffee mixed together. Even just the tea alone is unique, they use a fabric filter like stockings, and thick milk.
I love Hong Kong so much, this series is making me so nostalgic. Paik sem is so knowledgeable and good at explaining, as a Canto person I’m thoroughly impressed!
Like the title, watching this makes me hungry and envious. I miss HK dim sum, nothing in NYC can compare. Also their traditional desserts! I hope you were able to eat some. Luk Lum Dessert have some of the best black sesame soup ever. And grab a Coconut King drink to go! I wish I can go back soon and experience the same joy you had.
The dim sum restaurant in the video is called Tuen Kee Chinese restaurant. For dimsum cart restaurant, Maxim's Palace in Central is also very good and comfortable. 😊

12:36 Around 8 years ago in 2014 there were only 1. The shop was very very popular, especially among university students, and in a few years it expanded to four, on the same street. That street has the highest rent in that area, so you know how successful it is!
