Hbox and Zain have such underrated chemistry. You can look at this or the Hot Juans interview, the way they play off each other is really refreshing. Both of them have the ability to switch from being very well-composed to being an absolute goober in just a moment's notice. Part of me is surprised they haven't developed a super close friendship, but maybe that's part of being competitors at the top level like that. Regardless I just think it's really fun to watch them having a good time enjoying the game
Watching people have fun with melee like this reminds me of my youth. It makes me think maybe the sacred rule set is not all that it is cracked up to be
Tbh I just wish they would open up more stages, I think playing with stage hazards make for a more dynamic fight and opportunities to do stylish things.

Salty Suite is basically a less formal match than a standard tournament. This one was First to 5 Wins. The usual rules for Smash is 4 stocks, 8 minutes, no items. Since it was the Salty Suite, the stage list was WAY more lenient than usual. I assume the rules haven't changed drastically since 6 years ago when I last followed Melee. I stopped watching because my Melee friends moved away (and Smash spectating in general after that whole scandal with a ton of players across a bunch of games in the franchise).
This might be the greatest smash tournament highlight i've ever seen. No frustration or hostility, just clean good fun and a lot of laughs, plus the unbelievably good timing of the apples at 4:16 to top it all off 🤌
