@@illford counterpoint: Shorts are dogwater to watch. The looping video, the nonstandard controls, and the aspect ratio is dookie for those not attached to our phones. At least Saus here had the aspect ratio in mind when making these so that part isn't too bad.
11:53 It's kind of funny to imagine that Captain Falcon actually interferes somehow whenever this interaction happens. Fox has made it back to stage and should get out of free-fall, but Falcon somehow intervenes so that he simply falls to his doom. How does he find the time to do this? How does he turn invisible? The world may never know. Falcon certainly isn't telling anyone. Also "long live the king".
I appreciate the way you kept the background music consistent in cases where it would have just cut to the beginning again. It really feels like a full video, even if I’m having to watch it from behind two fenceposts like a creepy melee-obsessed neighbor
To be fair, when Melee came out, Daisy literally shared the exact same voice actor as Peach with only the pitch of her voice raised, so it's not totally unreasonable to say it literally is Daisy in Melee. The main giveaway to it not being her is her hair being a different shape, and more subtly Daisy has a different eyeshape and only two eyelashes instead of Peach's many
Actually looking at her Daisy alt again, I think her biggest crime is that she didn't get a darker lipstick to match her tanned skin, the pale pink looks really bad with her complexion in that alt
indeed, this is the perfect way to use shorts imo; you have a small idea but it wouldn't really fit as a video so you make a short of it instead with the same level of editing and polish
Are you sure you wouldn't prefer someone shouting like a jackass while bluring out the ending of their clip so you have to check out the full video instead?

@@duffman18 1) if you only want to watch a few particular segments 2) if you've already seen some segments and want to skip them 3) maybe you don't have 20 minutes 4) seriously this comment is just kinda silly
"I thought it’d be odd to have a random vertical video among my typical 16:9s and single 2:1." I Knew it. I thought it was gonna be like 16:6 or something but I was right. Great video about Melee, btw.
i appreciate that you adjusted music and title announcements to make this truly seamless and enjoyable (while keeping the funny titles) made for a great second watch wow actually you went even farther than that
AsumSaus, I’m sure you get told this a lot, but your videos are sick and your editing is next level. These shorts were a delight, getting Saus content on a near daily basis. And while a compilation undoubtedly means the series is concluded, it was a fun ride. Thank you.

Thank you for this. I don't know how much of this video is new, or if the original was made as a single video and then chopped up, but I really appreciate the continuity between each clip. Makes it work very well as one long part.
Fun fact: the Bowser grab release bug is also present in Brawl, but instead to escape because you can’t hold up to force an air release, you need to mash in between Bowser’s slow pummels to force an air release. If Bowser had a faster pummel, this would give him an infinite
This series was excellent, extra gold for donkey kong. And while I might not be biggest shorts enjoyer, I do appreciate added detail rendering everything in portrait aspect ratio.
My guy, your animation style is both really artistically creative and shows huge technical ability. Have you thought about showing off your tools and processes in a tutorial? I think you could get a presentation at a game dev conference out of it, you're that unique.
4:40 Honestly I wonder if people would raise a stink. It's a universal chaingrab, but unlike wobbling, it takes actual skill since it's a one frame every repetition
If I had a nickel for every weird eye-related thing connected to Daisy in Melee, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.
Very minor thing, but I appreciate how you didn't just paste all the edited shorts together, but re-edited them a bit to make the transitions seem more smooth. AsumSaus giving us premium quality content when he didn't really need to, like always.
I appreciate that you used the vertical format for actual display and with a purpose instead of smushing a horizontal video or just recording something lazily in vertical format
15:12 Shoutout to that guy (I think his name’s Runaway or something) who shared his story of doing this in Smash 4 in the comments section of the original short.
18:43 I genuinely do not know how this kind of glitch is possible... How do you ACCIDENTLY turn Mewtwo's non-item shadow ball into an item, causing it to have all sorts of janky mechanics??? Its baffling this game functions at all! XD
With the DK t-posing part, it took me a long time to realize the video is vertical aspect ratio but the pause menu still has the frame on it. So either you captured all this in a modified vertical aspect ratio in the emulator. Or you removed the pause frame, and edited one in manually, timed with the pause and everything. Either way wow lol awesome
