A great video of Hunstanton as it is now. Thank you. I spent many happy caravan holidays here with my parents as a child in the 1950s. Part of the excitement was travelling by train from Cambridgeshire where we lived and first seeing the sea when the train arrived at Heacham, knowing we were nearly at Hunstanton. The seafront’s changed out of all recognition now from my childhood when there was the swimming pool, boating lake and the little train ride on the pier with the roller skating rink at the end but it’s still a lovely place with many happy memories for me.
Hunstanton, or Sunny Hunny, my go to 'happy place'. I've been holidaying there for over 40 years, I love it. Always clean and beautifully looked after. The sea air and sunsets are a real tonic. A jewel on the NW Norfolk coast. I have many great memories of family and solo breaks in this lovely town. What a fantastic walking tour to highlight the attractions! 👍😎
Sunny Hunny is such a beautiful place and yes credit to the Town Council for keeping it looking lovely. My 1st boyfriend in '75 was Will Searles ( Willy the Wash Monster) I was sweet 17, met him in the Kit Kat bar) I used to stay at my dear old Grans caravan every summer, happy fond and cherished memories Ty for this fabulous vlog ❤
Happy memories by the sounds of it - I love hearing people's memories of places like that especially when adding detail about places like Kit Kat bar as it brings it all alive for me!
Hunstanton is a beautiful seaside town near the awesome beaches a lot of local shops, restaurants and pubs, the coastal towns like this just keep getting more beautiful to explore and look around but the beach is really magnificent looking, can't wait for your next video but until then thank you.🇬🇧👋🇬🇧
You did well with the weather! Looking lovely still, I have visited many times in the past but haven't been able to for a while now, will have to put that right as soon as I can. Many thanks for filming this charming place.
This resort town gets my SUPERWOW of the year award. Congratulations to the Town Council and all of it's employees for an outstanding presentation of their home town. I would love to live here, but my biggest fear is that some maniac will decide this is a great place for an offshore windfarm. You have my permission to shoot on sight. Thanks for another wonderful video which also deserves a SUPERWOW award.
Funny you should say that, as far as I know they still want to build a tidal barrage across The Wash to generate electricity and allow traffic to pass from Hunstanton to Boston. I still doubt it will happen but it has been repeatedly touted as a proposal so there's people out there and potentially the money to see it through eventually.
❤start off with a love heart, sorry i don't comment on most of your videos but would like to say from start to finish your vids are informative, relaxing, and a joy to watch can't imagine the amount of work you put in noticed the Great editing at the start of your vids , anyway
Hunstanton has not been spoiled by new money. It’s still a place for all with proper fish and chips and not cod goujons and jenga chips twice cooked! We spend many weekends here in the summer although the sea can be a little dubious thanks to the “crap” that ends up in it. I believe while the chippies and funfair remain the croc wearing brigade will be kept at bay. So no overpriced organic salad bars and rank craft beer bars.
Nearly an hour long video and (I mean this in a good way) even ignoring "Old" Hunstanton there's a lot more that could have been covered. While there are nicer coastal locations around Norfolk with better quality water and cleaner sand, it does stand out with some individuality (sadly being undermined slightly by overdevelopment in recent times) and is well worth checking out to anyone who has visited other coastal towns and villages around the country but wishes for something for a change. I'm lucky to live close enough to visit regularly as my escape place when I want to unwind and an early morning walk down the prom listening to the waves is about as good as any anti-depressant could be.
Excellent video as usual. Seems a very nice town. If I may make a suggestion, could you show us the Parking "🅿️" signs so we can see if it's possible to park at these places, I don't have a Smartphone so can't use the dreaded "Ring Go" app which is fast taking over. Cash or Card is fine. Many thanks.👍
The Wash is comparatively 'shallow', the tide stirs up the seabed, so you won't get crystal clear water. That said, there are issues along the coast regarding water quality, just like many other areas around the country. Spain is hardly welcoming tourists with open arms at the moment anyway! NW Norfolk for me every time! 👍
American military personnel heroically helped save many lives during the devastating storm and tidal surge that affected the East coast in January 1953.
In the last 10 years hunny has gone form a scruffy desperate boghole to a lovely clean, all year round resort. I was head doorman at the sands night club in the mid 90s and during the winter months it was a dump. Watch this space because I don't think it'll be the lovely place it is now in a couple of years?
@@angbaker8549 So he built everything himself? Wow, now I didn't know that. That's a heck of an achievement. Learn to read posts properly, then engage the brain.
