Purchase Oil For The Original Fans Here: www.hunterfan.com/ceiling-fan...
This video describes how you top off the oil on a previously installed Hunter Original Ceiling Fan. It is specific to the 2005-current year model fans, but, the instructions are also semi-backwards compatible with fans made from the turn of the 20th century through early 2002. This is the first video in a series to replace the horrendous video I made in 2015, which, while it has plenty of views, isn't professional and I go off on tangents.
Thanks for being a fan!

*Love it! Keeps the room very **Fastly.Cool** . The manual states it comes with a year warranty and 5 year part replacement. The compressor makes the typical sound...small price to pay for AC.*

Came across a small grocery store in southern Ohio some 30 years ago. They had four Hunter fans installed up front by the cab registers. They were of the original two blade models , probably dated to before WWII. These were classics.

Why doesn’t every ceiling fan have that inlet?

My Hunter ceiling fan was installed in about 1980. How is it oiled?

The exact same way as on this video. You use a pipe cleaner, bent the same, in the same location. For all USA made (pre 2002) fans, you will just have a plain 3/16" hole in the top of the housing, and not the fancy brass colored cap and spring closer. The best oils are SuperLube Synthetic lightweight oil or ZoomSpout turbine oil at HD or Lowes - half the price of the Hunter crappy oil.

Would be smart if all fans could be lubed up this way without disassemble

The best fan shaft oils for Hunter original fans (US or China) are SuperLube Synthetic lightweight oil (4oz bottle) or ZoomSpout turbine oil (4oz bottle) at HD or Lowes - half the price and twice the amount of the Hunter crappy oil.

I like the Super Lube products. Which viscosity do you recommend? They make ISO 10, 22, 32, 46, 68, and 100. The 100 is probably too thick. Hunter states that their oil is a SAE 10. The Zoom oil is also good but I can't find a viscosity for it anywhere. I heard it's a SAE 20. Dou you know? Thanks.

@@calmannomore5832 The Superlube oil on the rack in HD and Lowe's is ISO 32, equivalent to 10w. The Zoom turbine oil, also in HD and lowes and every hvac supplier, is also iso 32/10w. Light machine oil is all iso 32 and very common. For us old folks, it was known years ago as sewing machine oil. Singer still sells it in quart bottles. I worry recommending with the terminology of 10w because someone might try motor oil. The fan oil must be non detergent, as you know.

@@WorldwideBeagle Hi Peter. Thanks for the quick reply. I looked on HD and Lowe's sites and they don't list the Super Lube ISO 32. That's the one I would like to get. They don't seem to have it anywhere. Not even Amazon.

@@calmannomore5832 Superlube 8 oz. Synthetic Extra Lightweight Oil Bottle (ISO 32-46) shows as being able to ship to HD store for $11.They also sell it by the gallon!

@@WorldwideBeagle I saw that one. It's actually ISO 46 (20W), p/n 53008. They make a 32 or 46. Just can't find the 32. Thanks.
