I've had, since 1984, an audience recording of this from my old pal Jim Lombardi (who was attending UCLA film grad school at the time). This version is so much clearer - but the audience version still has its charms if only to hear the audience reactions & laughter. It was a great time to be an HST fan.
I was 2 months and 24 days old and more or less 9.371 km (or 5 822 mi) away... and I am deeply thankful for this gem! Whoever was smart enough to record it, well done, indeed... At the beginning of the video, I was surprised by how high pitched and feminine Hunter S. Thompson's voice was. Good thing it eventually went back to his normal pitch after a bit, or else that would have been very annoying.
