HUNTERS HARASSMENT and POLICE CALLED During Early Season Goose Hunt (Pressing Charges) 

We live between a national forest and an Army artillery/bombing and firing range. There are sounds of freedom out here all the time. Everybody out here shoots their firearms on their property. Those gated golf cart neighborhood suburbanites would be hiding under their beds out here.

I live in central Minnesota. In a city of 70,000 people. I hear gun shots go off on a semi regular basis. That is why I am a supporter of the second amendment, and yes I do own some firearms. I have absolutely no problem with hunters hunting on public land, so long as laws are being followed.

@@bearclaw9 Canadian Geese can be hunted. The treaty establishes a limit and the requirement to buy a permit. The first month of the season is a limit of 15 per day per hunter. In North Carolina and we have an extended season for residential Canadian Geese with a limit of 5 per day. Residential geese are the ones that decided migration isn’t in their plans and hang out year round. Hope this answers your question.

@@my3sons386 lol, no, I was already retired by the point, the last incident took place and did not have my badge with me but I let him know that he did not own the water that I was fishing. It was a public lake, (Santee Cooper lakes). He threatened to call the Game Warden and the Sheriff’s department. I encouraged him to do so and he stomped off of his dock and into his house and did not come back outside.

Geese are flocked in the several dozens in the grand river Michigan, I don't want to hunt them in order to prevent drawing attention to my hunt in a very populated urban rural environment, and it sucks to foresee that kind of thinking of 'do it or shy away' from it. Geese population is crazy widespread, and should be a year long event ,BUT HOW !!!!

Unfortunately, they accomplished nothing and the eco warriors won by ending their hunt. I guarantee the eco warriors celebrated afterwards and will do it again because they were successful. And yes they handled it well, but it is still by the eco warriors.

A neighboring County here in Wisconsin had some cases of antics cutting most of the way through the legs of several deer condos. Just enough so they still stood but enough to where they would crash down when someone would be moving around up in it. Kinda would like to have a private talk with them fellers.

I didn't see hunter harassment. The home owners were on the road or their property and looked to be just yelling. If they were making threats, that would be something else. This is also an edited video, so we only see what one side wants us to see.

Are they there frequently? He may have concerns about safety. I didn’t watch long enough to hear what he actually said but gun shots can be truly annoying if this is a frequent and ongoing situation. What we don’t have here is any context. Hunters often create safety problems and disrupt the peace. I’m ok with it but there do need to be limits . They don’t represent all people , there needs to be cooperation

"Hunters disrupt the peace"? Where i grew up (parents property) they're always hunting never bothered us. They still hunt there and its normal for us never created problems, never disrupted the peace.

@@noirhorse1368 In the video they said this was the first time they had been there. If he had concerns about safety, all he had to do was stand there and observe to see they were hunting safely. Gunshots can be truly annoying, just like someone mowing or blowing leaves or having a loud car, people don't respond by going out and yelling at other people because they don't like what they are doing. There are about 15 million hunters, how could you possibly claim they create safety problems and disrupt peace? You can't say it with any credibility. I'm glad you're ok with it (not that anyone needs you to be ok with it) but there are limits that are legal limits based on the law not someone's feelings about it. As far as cooperation goes, could we start with leaving people alone that are on someone elses property not breaking any laws. Cooperation would be to calmly ask to speak to one of the hunters and explain what his issue was and then maybe work on cooperation.

I served in SE Asia after hunting in Upstate NY. Lived in Cali and loved the wide open spaces. Just understand that city slickers never shot even a BB gun and are terrified by weapons. It's nothing political at all, just different backgrounds and city folks are unable to understand hunting, or farming. If they had bobcats and foxes eating their kittens and puppies then just maybe they might understand. Usually the're just too naive and will never understand. I had a sheriff explain to the old folks when their poodle got killed by coyotes that they should shoot any coyotes they see. That will reduce the chance of having them on your property. But OH NO! we would never do that... Please move back to a large gated community and leave us country folks to do what we do!

I’m a 70+ yr old California native, and I’ve been hunting waterfowl and pheasants since I was twelve or thirteen. I’ve never run across any body in California acting the way that neighboring idiot was behaving in all those years. I’ve done volunteer work with a local non-profit that educates kids about wildlife and wetlands. As the only hunter volunteer, it was very gratifying to hear the no n-hunting docents support hunters as the folks who put their money where their mouths are to fund wildlife and habitat projects. Don’t assume all Californians are anti hunting, even if we vote Democratic to support environmental causes.
