See, I more see it as Darrell wanted to get what he felt was rightfully his since he was screwed in the past by Lamar, that's why he was calm. Once the situation was laid out, it made sense why Darrell did this again.

Lamar seemed genuinely confused when Darrell first ask him what to do next with the money, like he should have already known, also just a text with the pickup location and no other info? c'mon man, that shit stinks. EDIT: Just to be clear I think Darrell is still a victim, as he was very willing to present his ID at the start to a stranger, but I think he's more involved/invested than he let on he was, I think he's still hoping for a payday/kickback so he's not out 100% from the scam. In their own eyes, PCH victims aren't poor, they're temporarily embarrassed millionaires. They see it as they are only one opportunity away from their millions.

What a ride we took with my brothers from Trilogy! It was like we'd done this for 10 years together. Coordinating Interceptions from a live stream takes precise and fast moves from all of us. We can finish each other's sentences at this point. We have to listen and trust each other for these to go smoothly. Copious notes with lots of late-night meetings and data mining. On top of all that, as we got to crunch time, Ashton and I both got sick and had to keep on going. I will continue to work with our victim. Thank you Trilogy for all your amazing work.

Ashton and Art need to have questions prepared, ready, and written down when they confront these people. Tensions rise and chaos ensues and that makes it hard to think of or remember the questions that are very important to get answers to. This is usually your only chance to get the right information needed to take these scammers down. This confrontation was all over the place with everyone talking over each other.

@@adamm1633 I’m in my mid 50s & yes they do swear but they’re far from vile. Certainly Kit does something similar in himself -it’s repetitive to a lot of people (however I disagree). Trilogy _leaves_ their home, work _against_ scammers, travel across the States & to India so I think their work is adapting. A 10 hour exchange is reduced to an hour & so the work is mammoth. We see little of what goes on behind the scenes. Then there’s the predator vs TM videos.

I've been called 3x from the Jamaican scam. My wife thinks I 'm nuts because I keep them on the phone for almost an hour. At the end I asked if they can give me the answer to my question, they say yes. I then talk in a Jamaican accent and ask him to send me a pound of Ganja, Man! One asked me to repeat it then hangs up. The other 2 yelled F*** you to me and slammed the phone down.

Ashton jumped into the call way to early and I mean waaaaaaaaaaaaaay to early. You all do fantastic work but those moments are very important in exposing the victims level of involvement within the scams too, when you put them on the spot if they're pretending not to know anything and not to be taking a cut the longer they're talking to the person giving them instructions the more time you have to gather intel and for them to slip up, he was barley on the phone with him for 20-30 seconds before you jumped the gun on this one.

I agree but it's tough to nail everything exactly on the fly. I used to be an acct mgr and negotiated big money accounts. I was good but there were definitely times I thought. Damn I wish I had or hadn't said something. But your take is correct. Just saying when you are in the heat of the moment it's tough to be perfect.

I actually got a call from a scammer in Jamaica a couple of years ago. Reported them to Jamaican police. Not sure what came of it, but it made me feel a better knowing that I reported it.

I think "Lamar" was trolling to find out if the police, FBI was involved because I think he knows that if Darrel was working with the feds that it could spell the end of his little operation. Yea, I'm not totally convinced that Darrel is just some victim in all of this. I kind of get the feeling that he regularly forwards money for these scammers and gets a cut of it. He may of started out as a victim but now he is an accomplice. Personally I think the police should have been called and everything turned over to them. At least that way they could have looked into Darrel's bank accounts and phone records to see just what kind of activities he has been up to. Plus they are better suited to protect him if necessary. There is such a group called "The Jamaican Posse" and you don't want them coming after you.

I was scammed when someone called me with a girls voice in the background saying.. “mom”. As if they had my daughter hostage. My daughter was a college student in another state and tbh they had me going for a minute. Once they realized I was onto them they were so belligerent even calling back and listening to my voicemail prompt where I identified myself and the company I work for. I deleted that prompt and is now just a generic prompt with my phone number.

That happened to my mother in 1978. They told her they had kidnapped my sister (named her!) and a girl in the background was calling “Mom, help.” They knew where my father worked (he had a public service job). She called the police and they located us (four daughters). I was in college and got pulled out of class. They called her back and she told them they were full of crap, although I think she used a more rude expression.

LOL at the FBI raid, hearing the sound effects in the background is freakin' hilarious. Apart from the humor though I love how you take the time to explain the various aspects of the scam and the roles of the people involved. Similar tactics are used for many other scams so it's very educational. Videos like this should be shown on tv as specials for awareness. Lots of useful info 👍

That is a valid point. But they obviously didn't have time to think because they weren't expecting the mule to be a victim. They probably didn't want the mule to get involved in scam baiting worried that the scammer may go after him. Also its easy for us to say what they should and should not do, but its tough to think on the spot. Side note: In another video where they busted a mule (they had confirmed he was a mule and not a victim), they did ask the mule to go with the scammer's plan and handled it well. Kudos to Trilogy Media for raising awareness and doing what they do ❤❤

Ok. Psychologically speaking, Darrell is definitely making things up. The problem is that Chappy asked close-ended questions with the possibility of "confirming" the actions taken rather than him telling the story. When Chappy asked if the certified check was a bad check, he didn't hesitate and immediately he said "Yup!". He's involved and he knows it. He doesn't know how to lie.

Do not let them reset there phones some people are smart to setup a autocleaner on their phones basically when they reset there phones it formats the whole phone everytime its a pretty good way to protect yourself but also à pretty good way to get away with crimes but i love everything you do you guys are a blessing. You guys are great. So many old people fall victim to these scams and lose all their life savings to these heartless evil scum. I think you're very brave, but be careful guys. America is a dangerous country with so many illegal guns, you never know if you could end up meeting someone armed and dangerous due to the amounts of money involved and the high prison sentences they face if caught. Be sure to take every precaution to protect yourselves and stay safe. .I've watched some of your stings and whilst I don't know what goes on behind the scenes, it concerns me a bit that sometimes you go to pickup points and stay there quite a while talking on phone and walking around making yourselves very visible targets to scammers...remember scammers are probably already there somewhere with eyes on you. Always assume that when you go into a situation. Ideally have backup watching you further back for any suspicious vehicles or individuals approaching you may not be aware of.

Awesome work guys! Love your content. The patience and dedication is just mind boggling. There were some things I noticed that I'd like to point out that may help what do you guys do, from my professional experience in questioning people. This guy was giving leads quite often, saying things like "this happened before", "oh that was actually long ago" and kept making pauses wondering what to explain and how far back to go. This is an indicator that you need to take a pause, ask him to give a narrative account of what happened from the very beginning. Then you ask follow up questions after he's done. It's counter productive to repeatedly stop his train of thought, it will just make things take longer. This guy had a big long story, but it would have been gathered much quicker if he was just asked to explain it from start to finish. Then make note of inconsistencies and go from there. That way you have a good solid timeline, much easier to follow instead of bouncing around and getting confused. In the end you guys made it happen and frankly I'm not the one out there doing what you do, so keep doing what you're doing guys!

He knew 100% what he was doing. They automatically treated him like a victim, but he already stated he hasn't sent Lamar any money. He knew he was picking up all that money. Just listening to his responses, tells me everything I need to know. They were supposed to press the mule how he knew Lamar first before automatically assuming he was an innocent victim.
