I bought an expensive target bow and set up, and shot it head to head against my hunting bow for 6 months. I was surprised and a little annoyed to find i shot better with my hunting setup about 80% of the time so i sold the target bow. Im about a 295 average on a vegas face so picking up points is really hard for me to do consistently this point.

Not a hunter but love watching vids about it. The meat too!🤤 started back shooting indoor at my club. Whe have 40 meters indoor. Shooting vegas rounds for the first time intensively . It's hard! But score keeps improving as rounds piles up! Trying to get on my way to a 300! Good luck to all you hunters! 👌👍👊🎯❤️

IBO wise the VTM is 2fps faster that Reckoning. Reckoning .5" longer brace height. If you fiddle with the let-off of the Reckoning ie down to 70%, you will easily by pass speed of VTM 34....

Suggestion for the Axcel and Archer Mark. I print my sight table off from Archers Mark, laminate it, and then keep it in my bino harness, or safety pin it to the bino flap for quick reference. Speeds up the whole process and makes double checking easier.

I always think hunt with what you are the most accurate with. Plenty of guys use recurvs and longbows successfully on game and they are alot longer than that Gen2

Correct me if I’m wrong but the best target bows today would out perform the best hunting bows of 10 years ago for a hunting application. Obviously the best hunting bows of today will out perform the best target bows of today in a hunting application, and the same thing will apply in another 10 years

Where would you two place the SS34 with that long riser? On the fence between a RG2 36 or the SS34 for 3D/spots/backup hunting whitetail. I love the way the SS34 drew and held at my LAS.

I'll argue this: the power stroke (the amount of distance the arrow travels locked to the string by the pin) is more relevant than the barce height for forgiveness. Why? because you can have a small bow with 6" bh shoot by a woman with only 23" draw length and you will have a shorter power stroke (17") than a target bow witth 8" bh shoot at 30" dl (22" power stroke). The speed of the arrow also affects the amount of time attached to the string albeit the difference here is small (a 335 fps arrow is only a 20% faster than a 280 arrow, so the difference in power stroke in the previous example is larger % than those 55 fps).

It’s frustrating (for me lol) that at league night, I shoot a 410-415 out of 450 with my hunting bow, but ~405 with my target bow. I figure it’s something in my head but man I might as well do target with my hunting bow, granted my hunting by is still 33ata at 27.5in draw.

I think you should use targets with an actual visible dot to shoot at, that way your aim point will be the same. The way you do it in this vid just feels like there's still some speculation on exactly where that 11 ring is. Just my 2 cents.

Seriously Tim, on the target bow why don’t you have a tape for it rather than referring to the phone to find the correct number? Personally, I love the part of making( print out) my own tape or finding the right metal scale. I even do that for my hunting slider. ( 3 pin CBE tl )
