The chupacabra is a legendary creature in the folklore sightings reported in Puerto Rico. The name originates from vampire lore. Chupacrabra is said to drink blood of domestic far animals. Descriptions of chupacabra are that of reptile like or alien-like. It is generally a heavy set creature the size of a small bear with a row of spines that run from the neck to the base of the tail. Other reports are dog-like and these are reported more in the South US.
Sightings have been reported in Puerto Rico and as far away as Maine and Chile also Russia and Philippines. Sightings in northern Mexico and the southern United States have been verified as canids afflicted by mange. According to biologists and wildlife management officials, the chupacabra is an urban legend.

I want to go hunting some day, but some of my relatives and friends are going furious about it when i tell them. To the point that they don't want to talk to me, also telling me that i am heartless that i want to kill innocent animals. However on the other hand they are not vegans. They eat meat from the supermarket, when i point them to the fact that they eat meat too, and they don't have a moral right to criticize me. They find all sorts of excuses, one example: "The animals in the market are already dead so i can eat it, because i didn't kill this animal". Tried to explain that they contribute to killing animals by investing their money in it when buying meat from the marker. But they don't seem to understand it. How do you deal with people like that? And what is your personal opinion? To me it is a double standards.

Eating animals killed by others is no different than killing them yourself. They're supporting killing animals either way which makes them ridiculous hypocrites. Hunting is not about killing animals to just kill animals. It's an extremely important and necessary part of WILDLIFE CONSERVATION. Hunting keeps populations of animals in check so the herds are always healthy and avoid starvation and mass die offs. It also helps the environment in that it keeps herds from getting out of control and completely depleting the food and ecosystems in certain areas which also affects the lives of countless other animals, plants, and insects. Most hunters will choose to process and eat the animals they harvest which is the most respectful thing you can do. Many poor folks rely on Hunting to feed their families every year, especially throughout the winter seasons. For those hunters that don't eat what they harvest, that meat is often times inspected and donated to homeless shelters to feed many others. If you feel pulled to Hunting, don't at all feel bad about that or have others make you feel bad about that. It's an incredibly rewarding experience. You get to enjoy nature. You don't HAVE to kill an animal if you don't want to. My dad and I would always pass up does (female deer) when they were still nursing their young who would follow right behind them. That's just ethical hunting. The meat you get will be way healthier than what you buy at a store. The meat you buy at stores is also many times linked to mass animal abuse and unethical practices to kill the animals. They often experience tons of fear and not always the quickest deaths before they are dispatched.....which also leads to lower quality tasting meat. The animals YOU kill will be hopefully shot and killed very quickly and mostly painlessly and without much fear if you practice often with your guns, bows, etc to be fast and accurate for a clean shot.

You might try a comparison between years in the wild, living naturally, and an instant death by a gun versus being killed before reaching one year old after being fattened up for the animal’s entire life. But really, that’s about all you can do… though you might also mention that the egg industry kills all male chicks at 1 day old by gassing, freezing, drowning, or being thrown into a meat grinder for fertilizer. If they eat eggs from the store, their money goes straight into babymurder.

And to add...there's also hunting of predatory animals that you may not be into eating which is fine. This also serves to thin their numbers keeping them healthy but also to help protect the lives of people's small children, pets, and livestock. Win, win all around.

@@pennsyltuckyreb9800 Your post is spot on. I live in the woods and hunting, fishing and foraging is how I live. Being out in the woods you really learn to appreciate mother nature. Anything I take , I eat or I trade with my fellow backwoodsmen, so nothing goes to waste. Many people today have lost touch with nature and have no understanding of how things are in the wilderness.

Nice shot!! Good job, putting that mangy yote out of its misery. The coyotes have gotten out of control, "everywhere" even here in the U.S. They are always on the move, chasing off all the game animals and killing and, eating family pets. Still, don't want to see one suffer with the mange and, spread it to other animals.
