Huntington Beach State Park South Carolina Campsite Review

In this video I give an overview of what this state park has to offer and also do a walk through of some of the best campsites, in our opinion, at this campground.
Huntington Beach State Park on the coast of South Carolina is one of our favorite beachside RV camping destinations. While there we visited the Atalya Castle, and Murrels Inlet marsh walk. We have also stayed at several other oceanside campgrounds in South Carolina including Edisto and Hunting Island State Parks. We have not stayed at Myrtle Beach State Park but have driven through it. Huntington Beach still remains our favorite.

Doing it in phases started three years ago . Phase one and two . Last year did phase three . Just finished phase 4/5. Quarter mile of dock

Great video of the park bud! My wife and I used to spend a lot of time there. Never camped there but hiked and visited the fort along with beach time. Much quieter beach then up in Myrtle. Thanks for sharing!

We love Hunting Island as well, the hiking trails are amazing and we though the beach was really fun there too, but we didn't care for how tight and crammed in some of the sites were. We definitely like the food options and large campsites better at Huntington Beach SP. We did miss the Johnson Creek Tavern at Hunting this year....the food was awesome there!

Thank you so much for this video! I tried the state website first, but you gave a better idea of how tent camping would be if we decide to go there. I didn't find it boring at all, so subscribed and looking forward to seeing more of your videos. Traveling from Indiana next spring.

Thank you so much! If I was staying in a tent, I may choose Edisto or Hunting Island State Parks. All three are awesome but Huntington Beach is still our favorite especially for beach access and overall camping experience. I wish I would have checked out all the tent sites when I was there.

Thanks Nancy! We stayed at Edisto as well but not the section near the beach..we stayed at the other section down the road which was equally as beautiful and much more secluded. Actually the thumbnail from this video was from our Edisto campsite. We really enjoyed Hunting Island as well, more than Edisto but all 3 are amazing in different ways.

I love doing videos like these the problem is most people are bored to death watching them unless they are looking for a specific site at that certain campground. I just released a Watkins glen campground review/tour in the Finger Lakes a few days ago on my channel.

Been camping there for over 30 years. You can move the fire ring to anywhere you want on your site as well as the table Sites 18 and 20 as well as 5 and 7 our are favorites after site 8 which I agree is the best site in the campground

Thanks. I agree about the difficulty of getting good sites there and they are really expensive too! We really like the sites closest to the beach and I was lucky to just snag one today, site three, the same one we had last year. Fortunately, I am able to camp on weekdays and not the weekend or it would not be happening at Huntington.

Man i loved the intro! So next time i go down there I'll have the drone! Did you just fly it? Did you check on any regulations or anything down there? Having been there i loved the views from above and would love to do the same thing!! If i can convince the fan to camp any while we're down there i loved site 33. We could set our tent up to shield us some from foot traffic! The nature center and visitor center/ camp store are both fantastic!! We toured the castle also! It's really a great little park!

I am assuming there is no WIFI, but how is the cell reception. Would need access to a hotspot from my phone to work. Great video!

Dang you missed (skipped) two sites i had .. 14 and 30.. wish you had covered them also wish you had walked the beach acees somwe could see how long it takes to walk those path.

I expect that the campground would be windy and raw in the winter.

Not so much. We go every year on the last few days of February and early March and normally the weather is sunny and warm, like in the 60's or even low 70's during the day and in the 40's at night. I'm sure January is colder, but when you're that far in the mid South, the winters are mostly mild, however, the weather can be a mixed bag in January and February for sure.

We avoid this area in the summer so I can’t really answer your question. We like it in March, no bugs then. Thanks for checking out the video.

No it is not free. Typical state park fees of around $35-40 per night and probably a maximum stay of 14 days, at least that’s what it is in Ohio.

Good luck getting a spot. If you do, you will be sandwiched between massive RV whales with screaming generators and AC's. Murrell's Inlet is now a continuous row of McMansions and bars full of drunks, not a quaint fishing village. Americans love this shit.

You are not sandwiched between huge RV's on the side we stay in, that is on the other side with full hookups. There is electricity at all sites so no noisy generators, always very peaceful and quiet when I'm there. The rest of what you said, I pretty much agree with.
