Huperzine-A boosts neuron resistance to beta-amyloid induced dysfunction that could lead to diseases like Alzheimer’s. Hup-A slows down glutamate toxicity at least partly by acting as a NMDA receptor antagonist. And Huperzine-A boosts nerve growth factor (NGF) in the brain.
