The problem with Mahidevran is she hated Hurrem and passed down the hatred to her son. Mustafa was very kind to Hurrem and vice versa but he grew into mommy's boy and started hating and blaming Hurrem for her mother's sadness. He never started the war with hurrem if you remember she tried to poison him first she hated him from the first time she saw him in the palace yes maybe because of his braveness she wished to be his mother but never loved him And what he did to her is because of what she did to him first
Hurrem never let the children be pawns between her and Mahidevran, she loved Mustafa like her own until he tried to hurt her and her sons. And then she had to see him like she saw his mother, as an enemy. And it killed her inside, you could see it every time she looked at him afterward.
Not to forget, even hurrem's sons had a great relationship with Mustafa,he loved his siblings,Mustafa had a great relationship with Hurrem too.Its truly sad that they ended up being rivals
No had Mustafa been Hurrems son he would've been more like Mehmed, the son who was the Sultans favorite. Brave, smart, cunning and not overly ambitious. Instead he became power hungry and to eager to make a name for himself. Never realising that he was a prince and not the Sultan yet!!!
please keep things in perspective here, Hurrem tried to protect Mustafa as a child, not as a young man. She would have put her own children ahead of Mustafa a million times more. Mustafa was pitted against Hurrem by his mother, which lead to his resentment of her. Hurrem didn't hate Mustafa, but she didn't love him like her own children either. When it came to the throne Hurrem wanted one of her own son's to be at the head of it. That's why Mustafa had to be executed!
Bingo. As a child you are innocent (Mahidevran could have learned that with the way she treated Hurrem’s kids) but as an adult, the innocence is gone and it’s time for business. It wasn’t personal (not fully), just battle to the throne…. Especially since there technically no line of succession.

If his father the Sultan would of taken out the trash after she tried to poison them both instead she got Hurren instead while pregnant with Mehmet, Hurren would of been his adoptive mother. I can guarantee all her children would of lived until both them died and he would of been Sultan while his brothers became governors of the empire while his sister would of stayed by his sister as a consultant.
In history Mahidevran was way more classy beautiful n powerful.. She was known for her grace n intellect n Mustafa had an advantage to have a mother from Nobel blood.. So all those comparing hurrem n Mahidevran n hurrem calm down u all.. Even in series Mahidevran was an amazing mother.. Mustafa was soo calm n mature cuz he had painful memories of his mother's sufferings that made me way more mature than his age..

If Mahidevran had not let her insecurities and jealousies take centre stage, the relationship between Hurrem and Mustafa would not have become so contentious, and, maybe, Mustafa would not have died as he did.

Those people who say "supporting hurram is crime and heartless", they are fool and blind. the Topkapi palace was full of lust, greedy people, dirty politics. Hurram just played like fire with the palace's dirtiest politics. If you were in her place, you also tried fucking harder to survive in that place. Do not forget, foolish mahidevran tried several times and threatened Hurram to kill her children if Mustafa gets the throne. And that was Automan's policy to kill brother for throne back then. None of this would have happened if Suleiman was not a hoe bringing multiple women in the palace. NONE OF THIS WOULD HAVE HAPPENED. so we can agree,unnecessary blood was shed due to men's lowliness.
