At the age of 26, when he ascended to the throne, Sultan Suleiman aimed to build an empire more powerful than Alexander the Great and to render the Ottomans invincible. Throughout his 46-year reign, he became the greatest warrior and ruler of both East and West.
The young Suleiman received news of his succession to the throne during a hunting party in 1520. Unaware that he would be ruling a reign beyond his dreams, he left behind his wife son and took to the road with his close friend and companion Pargali Ibrahim to reach the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. As they started their journey overland, an Ottoman ship set sail from Crimea in the Black Sea, bringing female slaves as gifts for the Ottoman palace… On this ship was Alexandra La Rossa, the daughter of a Ukrainian Orthodox minister, taken away from her family and sold to the Crimean palace. She had no idea that she would become Hurrem, wife of Sultan Suleiman and mother of princes, ruling the empire with him through bloodshed and intrigue.
As Sultan Suleiman conquered the world, his great passion for Hurrem would clash with his love for and trust in his closest friend and advisor, Grand Vizier Pargali Ibrahim, all set against the backdrop of the tension between Christian Europe and the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century.

@@gordanaterzic4121 Hurrem never beat, bullied, poisoned, stole from, blatantly lied on or tried to kill Mahidevran!!! Mahidevran has done everything listed and more to Hurrem. So who's truly the devil??? Mahidevil is and will always be until the end. She's a liar who takes no accountability for her actions from the beginning of the show until the end her claimed to be innocent. Hurrem on the other hand hold herself accountable and so does the Sultan.

@@lovelydove8770 Mahidevran is not a devil. In serues she did those things but not in history. Hurrdevil did even worst things then Mahidevran. If we not forrget Hurrdevil litteraly tried to poison Mustafa so many times before Mehžed died. Hurrdevil killed innocent concubines and other innocent people. Hurrdevil kindapped Esmanur ( Nigar 's daughter), she even manipulated Suleiman to kill and hate Mustafa and Ibrahim pasha. She burned Gulnihal' s face. And you say what Hurrem does is okay and what Mahidevran does is not okay. And you are even denying all these things that Hurrem done but can see what is Mahidevran doing. You are even blaming Mahidevran when she even did nothing. You just idolize Hurrdevil so you can't see a truth so you are denying to feel better

@@gordanaterzic4121 Do you want to know the difference between Hurrem fans and Mahadevan fans??? Hurrems aren't delusional, we know Hurrem could be cruel. I do not and I repeat do not agree with everything Hurrem has done. However, I understand why she did what she had to do. She watched her family be murdered, she became a slave, joined the harem, The Sultan showed interest... Life may not be that bad in the harem, then boom enters Mahidevil. Now Hurrem is bullied, lied on, stolen from, beaten and poisoned. Who wouldn't become a monster and want revenge?? Mahidevran tried to kill Mehmed while he was still in Hurrem belly and nothing happened, she was not punished. So of course Mustafa has to go!!! Who would let someone get away with almost killing their unborn child?? Not to mention she learn from the other Sultanas, they were just to weak minded and couldn't play the game. Mahidevrans fans see a innocent woman who was slighted by the Sultan smh We in reality she was too proud AND power hungry not to mention not very bright. Had Mahidevil stayed away from Hurrem and followed the rules of the Harem, her son would've been King. Instead she bullied, beat, stole from, lied on and made an enemy in Hurrem who she couldn't defeat. Also you people forget Hurrem never laid a hand on Mahidevran and she went for Mustafa because his mother tried to kill Mehmed before he was born! And In the end Mahidevran played herself and her son because of jealousy!!!
