Hurricane Beryl passed us in Grand Cayman at 5:30am this Thursday morning, about 60 miles south of us, as a Cat 3. We did not lose power or water, not much damage, thankfully. The sea on Seven Mile Beach looked like glass. It was so smooth, but no, she passed us at 10:30am. The waves were starting to build, and a bit of rain. Thinking of the others who were deeply affected. Also, us locals call it CAYmaaaannnn, not CayMENS.

Jamaica might have massive real estate/property damage, but they have their survival priorities straght. The entire island is permaculture. They have food forests everywhere, they are community drive society.

When a Cat 5 hurricane passes through it leaves every tree naked and bare of leaves and fruit. Jamaicans are resourceful and very agrocentric people but they're not tree climbing monkeys, or animals who can sense where water is. They go to stores to buy rice, bread, and water just like everyone else. This is a huge crisis for the Jamaican government.

Did you see all the mangoes breadfruits ,plantains the resident started to collect from the trees .we are resourceful. I remember Gilbert Hurricane.we had food. Please did noticed how many communities started to clear the debris?Ti is all there on RU-vid. 🤔🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲 @@markydan1232

We just have to.pary in the Caribbean cause there is more to come it has began the almighty is doing his thing we in the Caribbean taking life for nothing everyday is a killing our heart is dirty from January to December blood all over the Caribbean the almighty is cleaning up if we as Caribbean people don't check out self next year the weather well not eat nice with us.
