That woman saying she stayed because there are people available to come out and help! Well that’s a bit selfish ain’t it?

The Donnelly’s really made me realize something: people like that are why my son is risking his life in Fort Myers and Cape Coral today. You could have left😢, you choose not to and now the First Responders and National Guard are risking everything to save people and retrieve bodies.

If you’ve made the decision to ride it out, don’t expect others to rescue you later. You can live with your decision… Or not.

That THAT lady said they basically decided to stay because they know other people will be available to RESCUE THEM??? THAT pisses me off. So because you want to be an IDIOT someone else has to risk THEIR lives to come get you?!

That couple stayed in their home thinking someone will jump to their rescue if they need it. Did they think how they would be putting those people in danger aswell?😒

So horrified those people stayed with the expectation that they would be entitled to rescue- instead of evacuating that was a better option!

Stuff and homes can be replaced but your life can never be replaced. I miss Florida but I never miss the hurricanes. I have been through many and left when others hit Florida. My daughter is still there and I am freaking out.

My dad lives on Sanibel. They are in Italy but their sitter was watching their dogs. They have not heard from the sitter for almost 24 hours. They are afraid they will come home to no house or dogs.

I just don’t understand how people don’t evacuate when your right near the water. Then you want to be rescued. I rather have my life while although difficult than being swept up by water

In P.R. when categ. 5, Huracán Maria' Eye passed over my home, I must say the sensation was Heavenly! Suddenly everything moved in Slow Motion, a Humm Sound was heard, Peaceful & an Amazing Bright Light. Lasted 30 sec.s... then all Hell broke loose again. I recorded it for posterity.

A few years ago we went to Florida and we have lived in Clearwater Florida my son kept insisting to move since he had seen a documentary where it says Florida was going to have a horrible hurricane. Needless to say, we moved.

So much ignorance in those people putting rescuers at risk... unconsidered and mostly very stupid. Staying will not save your home

He say’s somewhat cool, somewhat terrifying. Somewhat stupid. And they put others at risk. First responders shouldn’t,t have to risk their lives for stupid, inconsiderate people. And the other one has a “solid house”. Floods and wind will mow your “solid house”down.

Saw firefighters down my street use the brightest search lights all around the firetruck(for the first time) , thank our first responder I watch as transformers blew straight blue flashes.

My heart breaks for all Floridians who are being devastated by Hurricane Ian and my prayers go out to you. But, I want to remind a commentator on this abc channel that there was two storms in 2021 that wreaked so much damage to Louisiana , Laura and Delta. Laura came through the coast line of Cameron, LA on August 20, 2021 as a category four hurricane with a wind speed of 148 mph, surge of eighteen feet which destroyed Cameron and many other towns along the coast line. It traveled up to Lake Charles, LA north into Beauregard Parish, Allen Parish (where I live) and on up to Shreveport, LA and was still a hurricane registered as a category one with 77 fatalities. Six weeks later as we Louisianians were reeling from that devastating hit Delta came and devastated us even more. Our resilience and so much help from others from other states afterward we were able to piece together our lives. But, I will say that even two years later, we still have recovery mode with so many homes still damaged or have blue roofs Florida I know your fear, your pain and anguish as I am sure many others who went through Laura and Delta feel it as well. Again prayers, healing and strength to you Florida.
