I am SO OVER this summer and the ridiculous rain, the storms, I'm so sick of it. Tampa and Manatee is literally over saturated already as it is. This has just been the worst summer in so many ways and the weather is just, ugh.... YAY ANOTHER day or two off of work that nobody can afford!!!!

To the original poster, were you here for hurricane Ian? If so, this will be less than that although the storm surge will be high. for hurricane Ian, we were inside the cone. If you weren’t here, I would talk to your neighbors about what they experienced to get an idea.

It's not going to get any better due to rising seas and the geography of the Gulf coast. They keep right on developing theses areas. If anyone plans to build homes there should consider putting the structure on sturdy stilts/pilings at least 8ft. Some are even now designed to mitigate heavy wind.. There are a lot more benefits to this type of home than ground houses including lower ins rates.
