I am at the part where Mark shows up with his "daughter." Notbsure if I have become too jaded from Reddit, but something tells me that isn't hos daughter and probably his affair partner. Also, you cannot determine paternity/maternity based on looks. I am Native and Puerto Rican with brown hair and eys and tan skin. My twins have all my coloring. My husbands family is from northern Europe, and he is very pale with blonde hair and green eyes, and our youngest has his coloring. People have actually thought we are a blended family, but I correct them and let them know my youngest grew in my tummy. Oh, and without them mentioning it, I know that isn't his daughter.

I would never believe my spouse bringing home a 19 year old girl out of nowhere and claiming it to be his long-lost daughter, which he has never mentioned or spoken about. I would have immediately reported to the cops and have them investigate this drama. There is a difference between blindly believing and accepting facts. If any husband had got in contact with his long-lost daughter, they will mention it to their current partner, until and unless they cheated during our marriage.

OP shouldn’t be mad at the girl tbh. Sure she’s 19 now and was a trouble kid, but she’s been coerced into a sexual relationship with a man more than double her age at the age of 15. To say this man had her run away from friends, family, and school, she has no real understanding of what she was made to do and has no way to get herself out the situation she’s in.

OP of course was right to take action against the husband, but the 19 year old is barely an adult and was manipulated by the husband at a young vulnerable age into doing what he wanted. I believe it was wrong OP didn’t take that into consideration at all and was more focused on getting revenge on her vs what was done to the girl.

I don't blame the mistress in this. I don't think she should have gotten 2 years in jail, but I think she should have received probation, a god awful amount of community service and court ordered therapy. She was a victim, preyed on by a much older man while she was underage. She was probably flattered that an older man was interested in her and she was mostly likely lied to for years. He may have even been her first. Think of years of manipulation by someone you believe you are in love with and an older figure in your life. I remember in my first years of college I had an old man try to hit on me. He told me how he's going to get a divorce from his wife through abandonment if he can get her to take a long vacation. But in the meantime he and I could be together. Thankfully I was old enough to spot the lies and told him to wait until he was divorced before he started talking to someone.

If it true, the only logical thing that would make sense is that she has a record of doing something similar before. Either that, or she duped this woman out of so much money that she ended up with a felony charge and can't pay restitution. She was taken advantage by this d-bag because she was so young, but if she demonstrated no remorse and/or acted like an entitled brat during the proceedings, she has learned nothing. Or she just doesn't care and will scam another family when she gets the chance. Lot of scumbags out there that will pull on your heartstrings to con you.
My mom had an affair lover that was at least 15 years older than her. Only once he tried to come on to me. I was going in my late 20's. I told him no. Gross he KNEW my my mom in biblical sense.

The only part I don't believe in this story is he only got 5 years in prison. I know the world is fucked up, and i can believe something like this could happen, but the husband only getting 5 years for grooming a minor, and having sex with her too, that I don't believe, 10 years maybe. 15 years definitely believe. I just hope the money the husband had to pay came out of his own pocket and not a shared fund with OP.
