Nation Hahn tearfully confronted John Broyhill, his best friend and also the man who murdered his wife. Broyhill pleaded not guilty to murder but jurors took just 90 minutes to reach a verdict and he was found guilty. #InsideEdition
Even more bone chilling that this evil was once his best friend. What happens when the evil you trusted with your life has a key? How can anyone trust anyone when things like this happen?
@@JenWIL641 Wait, what... I'm sorry... *Best Friend / Best Man is as about as deep as "friends" can go, before you arrive at Brokeback Mountain.* _Do you have some other information about their relationship or YOUR MIND is just doing what it does?_ 🤔🥴🤭 😘😷
I can't even imagine the utter heartbreak this poor guy must be feeling. Not only was his wife murdered, but by his life long best friend, who was the best man at his wedding... So he not only lost his wife, but also lost his best friend. So tragically sad. Such a small insignificant thing to kill someone for. 40k that he embezzled...would have gotten much less time for that.
That hit deep. “We lock our doors to keep the outside world, evil, out. But what happens when evil has a key?” I hope he heals and can find peace, Rest In Peace
@@Igga_killer Yet you think writing "Cringe" regarding a quote made by the husband of a murder victim. If thats how you feel then you're a heartless bastard.
It always surprises me how people want to get out of lesser charges by literally committing murder and then getting sentenced for life. I love that crime usually goes hand-in-hand with blatant stupidity
“what happens when evil has a key?” the evil preys on the vulnerable, and weak, as sadly seen in this case. i feel so sorry for jamie’s family, and sorry for jamie that her life had to end so tragically. glad he got a life sentence, just wait until the inmates hear about what that fat old man did to that poor young woman and her family.
Most sad part about it is he could’ve just talked to her about the money he stole and maybe find a way to make up for it rather then end his and her life
He might have wanted the girl for himself too.He knew that would never happen. He didn't want his friend to have her,so he killed her out of jealousy. Like a hater.
the worst heartbreak imaginable your best friend betraying you by hurting your love. two people you love more than anything taken from you. hope this guy finds healing.
This is giving "Selena Quintanilla Pérez" via 1995 and it's so immensely tragic. When you find out someone you love that's on your team and is like family (whether you're a famous music artist or politician), steals money from you or embezzles it. We let our guard down because the duality of the person we thought we knew shocks us. Then from there murders you when you confront them with the love you have for them. It makes you think that nothing can prepare us for this fate or the people we love that ultimately betray us when we least expect it.
Based on your comment you didnt watch the video but thats okay. The Wife found out the bestman had stolen $40,000 through embezzlement and was probably gonna give him up to authorities. Dont think it was jealousy
People will do insane things that they never thought they were capable of when confronted with a situation they perceive as threatening to their livelihood. It’s a psychological phenomenon. A terrible and tragic situation
Exactly. That’s why you NEVER confront someone and back them into a corner. Nothing good comes from it, and you could lose your life. Just report it or ignore it or keep distance
Moral of the story: You should never approach something dangerous without being safe first. Note: This news is already 2yrs old, but watching this today made me feel terrible for the family. I too have lost someone, a distant relative. I barely have known the man, but him dying shook me to tears. I can’t imagine what it feels like to lose someone close.
She confronted him after finding out the money he embezzled. She was probably being kind and lenient with him considering their relationship. This really is tragic, my heart goes out to her loved ones
@@MrCmon113 Because why would she tell him otherwise? The more logical course of action to actually be able to punish him for it would be not to tell him at all.
@@MrCmon113 , for the same reason that we know sky is blue and rain is went. Because it makes sense. Because instead of just going to police and reporting him, she decided to give him a chance and maybe he will either explain it or replace the money. Because that is what friends do when they have be very close for a long time. I hope you get my point
AttilatheThrilla so? I’m 13 and I have a best friend who’s 16, a best friend DOESNT always have to be the same age as you, like my mum has a friend who’s 10 years older than her
hasn’t anybody learned anything from what happened to Selena?? Never confront someone about money without a lawyer, police, or other family members present!!!
It was because he lived there part time because he claimed to be sick. He also stabbed the husband. www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2315275/Jonathan-Broyhill-Best-man-stabbed-couple-faking-cancer-investigation-missing-finances.html
“But what happens when evil has a key” 💔 :’( my heart is broken. Those words, my god, the chills :’( I almost put those exact words into my own victim impact statement. Rest in paradise, sweet angel. :’(
Yonzblock I mean she would be alive if she wasn’t a snitch. Like why tf would you tell him you know he’s been stealing? Why not just call the cops... Well that’s a lifetime story I’m going to watch either way.
Aqua Ghost Si she’d be alive if he didn’t murder her. Also she might’ve in the beginning thought the embezzlement was a clerical error and since they’re trusted friends she must’ve asked him thinking it was a mistake. You never know.
@@dredenny6654 She's saying he lost his wife, and his friend (the best man) - because after his friend committed the murder he was effectively dead to him - He lost a best friend. let me know if that makes any sense :)
@Dodge with religion, reality goes completely out of the window. Theres no scientific evidence for god even existing. Theres no truth, just wishful thinking by people who depend on some 'higher being' to guide them in life. Idk if you're some internet troll, but don't try to force religion onto sensible people who have better things to do than grovel at a being who doesnt even exist.
Man, you gotta give the husband kudos, not only for speaking in the way he did, but to do it to someone you once loved who has betrayed you in the worst way. The world can be a very cruel and unforgiving place, my heart goes out to the husband and that beautiful woman's family
When you're in as much pain as he must've been, you realize that there's no point in trying to hurt him. All you can do is get him punished legally. Hurting him won't bring his life... sorry, wife.. back. A man's wife usually becomes his life... and when he loses that... he doesn't have much left especially since his best friend was the one who killed her. He's brave not to take his own life.
He should've never seen the inside of a courtroom. Chained to the wall and locked in a room with her husband and his weapons of choice until an ultimately justified homicide.
Yeah, that whole beginning seemed weird to me. He had a key and they even took vacations together. Please tell me he didn’t join them on their honeymoon. 😟
You need to be carful about those so called “friends since high school etc” type though, because people change but the early friendship blinded our eyes, and make us ignore the signs.
Killed her over 40k. He wouldn't have even done much time. Probably would have gotten 5 years, out in 2 with good behavior. Maybe would have even got the sentence suspended. Completely senseless.
@Lubhavna Goel I agree! I feel like he wasn't worried about doing time, he just felt betrayed by someone he had known for many years and was hoping to silence her instead of just facing the consequences. Talk about a crazy ass world we live.
@@nicolaysbunny1851 well Norway has one of the lowest repeat offence rates, so no matter how questionable what the judicial system does there is it evidently works.
@@Sam-od9of that is true, but imprisoning these people for life would not change that. I like to live in a country where people can make mistakes and get a second chance, but pedophile child killers don't deserve a second chance imo.
The more I hear about stories like this that end up in betrayal and pain I'm more convinced that I'm perfectly fine being alone watching my favorite shows on Friday nights while eating my snacks.
@@debrachretien There were probably the same amount of narcissists and sociopaths in today's elders (during their younger years). But in their twilight years they become more humble, turn to religion/spirituality to put things right with God before they leave this plain (if you're into that sort of thing). And will deny every bad thing that they ever did during their younger years 😆. Oh, and there will be lots of family "secrets & lies" to make sure the youngsters don't find out what kind of people they were. I used to remind my mum how much she used to beat us when we were kids, she denied it until she was blue in the face, lol!
whats funny is that he would face a max of 5 years for embezzlement but now he has to face life obviously the situation is very sad. "If you embezzled money or property worth more than $500 but less than $75,000, you will be guilty of a third degree crime and can be imprisoned for up to 5 years and fined up to $15,000."
When you have to confront somebody with that kind of evidence, NEVER do it alone. Always have somebody with you in case the accused decides to get violent out of fear and panic. If she had had somebody with her, I bet she's still be alive. Very tragic all around.
Sad. However true. I had to listen to that part twice...her action was to confront a man alone about a large embezzlement crime over 40 grand....yeah it's no wonder he snapped on her. Disgusting.
I can agree but it's not like she approached a stranger. This man was in her wedding and I'm sure someone she considered a friend. I'd like to think I would be able to confront my friends and family without the thought of being murdered.
@@TimahR true ...but this teaches us you shouldn't. When an animal is trapped and scared, no matter how friendly it seemed, it may lash out in the moment.
Cant blame her for thinking she wasn't gonna get murdered it was her husband's best friend but yeah you never know if the person your talking to is capable of
Guy killed his best friend's wife because she found out he embezzled $40,000? That's insane, he probably would have been out of prison in just a few years had he just plead guilty to embezzlement charges. It might have been minimum security, too.
I don't believe that has anything to do with the situation. The Best-man(husbands best friend) worked with the Victim on a politicians(campaign team). When she discovered he had embezzled $40,000+/- from the campaign fund. It doesn't sound like there was ever a problem between them, before that day. For him to react so violently toward such a close and lifelong friend. That's the most concerning issue I have about the whole thing. But, people don't surprise me anymore. They're capable of anything. I just like to know why, what triggered it?
Sad part is he coulda just been a man and faced the embezzlement charges and still had a chance at a life... Instead his greed took his "best friends" who world away...
And his own world away. Unbelievable how little people think out their situations. And in this violent country rife with mental illness and self-absorbed thinking it becomes too easy for people to opt to do terrible things to others as a means of conflict resolution.
i said the same thing...as if he would get away with killing his best friends wife? take the embezzlement charges. maybe it was a warning and she might have helped him get out of trouble... what a slob
@@sonquatsch8585 Anyone connected to the victim through love or money is the first to be officially suspect. Crazy that they don't get that! They may as well walk throught he entry doors of their local police station after the crime's been committed.
You never confront someone without protection or backup. Things like these happen when someone vulnerable confronts someone who has a lot to lose by exposing him/her.
