I know I made a big deal out of the small seat on the Hush in my previous comments, but I’m still interested in this stand. My LW Assault 2 is a really good stand, but it sure would be nice to knock 3 lbs off!
There needs to be more reviews of this stand out there. I’m a “watcher” not a “poster”, but I’m tempted to post a review due to the lack of attention this stand gets. I’ve got quite a few sits on mine now and I think it’s a lot of stand for the price. I prefer this aluminum over cast or machined. I’m not sure what he coats it with, but there’s less flex than machined (based on my experience with some high-end machined stands) and the metal on metal noise is deadened.
Great review. I'm running this stand this season and so far I love it. May not be for everyone, but it has got some negative reviews that it didn't deserve. Thanks for the solid review!
@@AERIALASSAULT1 21” seat height is fine. See how long you can sit on that tiny 6x11” seat, though, and tell me the stand isn’t best for someone who stands most of the time lol. It’s literally less than half the size of a Lone Wolf/Novix seat, which is 12x14”. If I start hearing something back to my right or left on my stands I can shift my butt up to 90* either way and put one shoulder to the tree to get a better look. Also, a deeper seat makes drawing on a deer while seated much easier. But a lot of guys won’t draw unless standing, and a larger seat weighs more. Regardless, pretty sure the seat on the Hush stand is smaller than any I’ve ever seen.
@@davidrussell631 most people complain the lone wolf seat is too big. As a matter of fact that's the number 1 complaint i've heard about the new helo. But the distance from the tree created by the bracket plus the seat post not sticking up and hitting you in the tail bone makes the seat feel bigger. But that's my experience with it. Won't be the same as everyone's
@@AERIALASSAULT1 I had a couple of the old LW Assaults years ago. Reason I had two is that a buddy sold me his after complaining it was like “sitting on a waffle iron.” He had a way with the English language lol, but I’m sure that’s sort of why Lone Wolf started making the seats bigger. Also makes turning different directions a lot more comfortable, and about the seat post, I’ve never once noticed it. I supposed the seat pad just doesn’t squish down far enough, but it may also be that you typically don’t sit all the way back against the tree. Anyhow, guess it’s like saddle hunters. Some sit more and some are more leaners or standers, and yeah, if you’re not using the seat much then you don’t much seat, whether it’s a Lone Wolf or one of the more “comfy”saddles like the Cruzr.
Absolutely! I've spent 95% of my career in climbers and the rest in saddles. We'll see how I like these stands after some hunting situations. I appreciate your insight tho! Definitely something to consider
