Love ya man! Spring,Summer,Winter or Fall!!! I’m in South Eastern Pa... I’d definitely love to let the 6.0 stroke her way North! I’d bring a DirtBoyDave build up to cut a round. I’d love to just hang out and enjoy the stories and gain knowledge from older guys who have this passion too... and lot’s more years and knowledge than me. Camping out and eating some food..,listening to good folks make music and memories together in the woods...talking PowerSaw’s! Boy O’ Boy! Sipping my Iced Tea and doing lots of smiling... I wanna find another machine shop to knock down a 272 piston to play with in my aftermarket bigbore....! My Hutzl 372 has a Sugi 28” skipper on her...LOL! I saved so much on the China Saw I could afford a decent bar!!!LMFAO! I just love the way you are schooling us guys that want to learn everything we can about PowerSaw’s!!! 😁👍. Thank you,Sir!
New sub here Ironhorse🖐 Been watching Buckin and Killinger channels for a little while, and found my way here. Appreciate your explanation of how your building saws, your comment on another video if I remember correctly was to think of it as basically hot rodding a dirt bike helped me understand better. I've never done more than general maintenance type stuff and carb rebuilding on a saw, so thanks for sharing your knowledge👍Will be trying to catch up on some past videos and following new ones👌✌
I tell ya, I think their may be 2 people in this community that live near me. I'm about as far as I can get from you without getting in the Pacific ocean.. 😊👊👍Great video Harvey!!!!
September 20th that's my birthday and it's going to be at decals again this year.. I heard pretty clothes is going to be in Michigan and then I heard that supposed to be in Indiana somebody has to make up my mind and I'm not going to come over your house for two days I'm going to stay there for like a week put my little army cot right next to that wood stove at night time I'm a Marine I seen heat I seen cold.lol. thanks for the videos mr. Harvey you're a hell of a man you give us more information than half the people out there from a Michigan boy over and out good day
You're going to have to adopt me, adopt a child.lol I tried calling you last week and on your voicemail was a lady laughing so I thought I had to the wrong number
Hi Mr Harvey, I have been watching you for awhile now and this is my first post, but I would love to come up your way I live here in central PA and I could be there in about 2 hours. Someday I have a saw I would be honored to have you build for me!!!
Hey harvey id come 2 ur event absolutely would i live in knoxville tn i work for myself so time off isn't an issue just need the date to be ther. I appreciate what you do man. I really do.
Hi Harv, I live in SE Pennsylvania. I’d really like to meet up and see your place. Timing is not always on my side having 2 young kids. We’ll see how it goes. Keep us informed.
Hey Harvey...would love to come up...we are in Southern Missouri and it would be a haul but would shift things around to to come be a part of the Ironhorse saw-a-palooza and run some saws get square filling tips and watch the draft horses pull. Thanks great idea...would be glad to help in anyway I can
I would love to take a ride up your way...l live about 2 hours from you and l also an old David Bradley chain saw that was in an old barn that was being tore down on a job that I was logging .....it was completely seized up from sitting for the last 30 40 years....l now have it freed up, cleaned up and about ready to start and it has very good compression .....l don't know anything about the carburetor on that saw .... I was wondering if you ever did anything with one .
So could you use the 272 piston in the 372 without milling anything off the top of the piston and still be safe with squish? With or without a base gasket? Didnt understand that part. Love the tips and tricks Harvey!! Thank you for sharing with us
Hey Harvey would love to get together with you . Central Mass here so not to far a drive . Planning on making it to Bucking stock this year it’s already on the calendar ..
Hey Harvey. Do you remember me with my Partner 660? Could you explain, if it's possible to set up this big bore kit from husky 272 /372 for this partner chainsaw. All so I hope it fits. Thanks
What would happen if I take some off the roof of the intake port instead of the floor? Say 0.040” I’d get more intake duration but wouldn’t have it close too late so I’d get nice case pressure is my thinking..
Is it possible to run a single ring on a double ring piston?? Like the lil red barn 50mm pop up double ring on a 371xp stock cylinder with gasket?? Or simply better to go with meteor with gasket delete??
@@theironhorse6600 Ah glad to hear your up here with me. For some reason I thought you were ohio or indiana or something hahaha. If I can make it I would be game for a meet up. I have an axe meet at my place on March 28th. You are welcome.
Great advice man, I'm working on my 385, exhuast opens at 96 intake opens at 103 and my blowdown is 36 putting my tranfer duration at 96. Seems low. My question is should I raise the transfers in this case? I'm thinking of 26 blowdown for a 116 transfer duration. What's your thoughts thanks.
@@theironhorse6600 ok thanks for the input, I would have to get the base machined. What I may do is put the meteor piston on the hiway cylinder and see where I'm at. Hopefully it's over 100. Thanks for your time man. I actually lean towards torque in my works saws.
@@mercoldswfo hey man I got my numbers sorted, I'm gonna try that meteor piston and see if it yields better numbers. Then once i get my exhuast and transfer figured i will bug harv for intake numbers lol
hey ironhorse I'm fellow timber cutter from Murphy North Carolina. Can u put a stock 272 piston in a 372xpw without milling it down. thank ya bud b safe
Meteor makes the closest to OEM as possible. Very consistent port timing and great plating and honing practices. Also come with Caber rings to begin with so consider that as an additional savings
@@Chevron.Muskoka I mean my 272xp runs perfect. I am thinking about the swap because I think I would like it to have a decomp which it doesn't have right now.
Ironhorse Chainsaw that ain’t nothin Harvey ... me 2 black panthers can port and polish a cylinder for a can of tuna fish ! Amazing how they get their little paws in there and take care of business !
I got one more question for you if you don't mind me asking, what is ur thoughts on removing the bottom ring on a duel ring piston for a 372? Like what would happen?
